Motorola Droid : Exchange Sync Error
Nov 13, 2009I set my exchange email up and the only way I can receive messages is to refresh the mailbox.I have it automatically checking for e-mails. What can I do to fix this?

HTC Hero : Exchange Sync Error
Aug 31, 2009I'm wondering if anyone else is having problems syncing with Exchange 2007 (via wifi)? I connect with our exchange server and can send e-mails, but the contacts/email/calendar sync result in a "Exchange sync error: Sync protocol error".I noticed people were having problems with Exchange 2003 and SSL, but we do not have ssl turned on at the moment.

Sep 15, 2010I have ran into a couple of my users having problems syncing their Outlook contacts via Exchange 2007 ActiveSync once their number reaches into the thousands. When I reduce the number of contacts in their mailbox down, synchronization resumes. Does anyone know of a limit that android has on contact synchronization? I've seen this on both the Droid X and Incredible.

Jun 17, 2010I installed b-folders (a password manager) and it allows for a wireless sync between the DI and desktop, so i connected to the wireless network at work for the first time for the sync.Everything went well, except I stopped getting push mail from Exchange.I remembered a thread about Exchange not syncing over a wireless connection, so I turned off the wireless.My other e-mail accounts work fine, as do syncing calendar and contacts for exchange (both ways).I can send mail from the DI on the Exchange account, but I get no mail on the phone from the Exchange account.I have removed the battery, resaved the account information for the Exchange account, but still no mail received on the phone.I am at my wits end trying to figure this out.the problem seems only to effect incoming mail from the Exchange server on the phone, all the other info from the server comes through fine (even 5 minute alarms for upcoming appointments).Any ideas from the cloud?

Nov 12, 2009I am new to the forums, hoping someone is able to assist me with some Exchange Server Contact sync problems. We are running Exchange 2007 (w/ SSL) and my mail and calendars sync no problem. But when it does the contacts, I get the error "Synchronization is experiencing problems" with no further message to the error. I have tried over WiFi and with the carriers network. This is on a fresh wipe of the device, I have tried deleting and re-adding the exchange account to the device but with the same error. I get approx 6 of my 325 contacts synced.

Aug 24, 2009I've had a quick search and couldn't find any topics exactly the same as the problem I am having.
For the first ten days or so all my contacts were syncing fine on the Hero from my Exchange account. I then added a new contact in Outlook / Exchange and from this point on, every time I sync the exchange contacts it fails with a client / server conversion error in the notifications. I deleted said contact again in Outlook to no avail.
The mail and calendar are syncing fine, and I have an HTC Snap syncing to the same Exchange account on the same network (Orange UK) just fine (I know the latter is Windows Mobile but still...)
Any ideas? Or is there any way I can see a log of some sort to see why it is failing?

Oct 8, 2010I have been getting the message 'as meeting organizer no response is required' in Outlook when people send me updates and I am not the meeting organizer. From reading around it seems it may be an issue with syncing the calendar which I have stopped but it did not fix the appointments.
I was looking for a way to do a one way sync or something but have not come across a way to do this in corporate sync. Not sure the issue but was hoping someone here may have seen the same issue. By the way email and contacts work just fine.
Motorola Droid X :: Touchdown Vs Stock 2.1 Exchange Sync - Bug In 2.1?
Jul 22, 2010I have never been able to sync past calendar events using the stock 2.1 Exchange (Outlook) sync. I only get past events for the last month. Yes, I have "sync all events" turned on. Any calendar event older than 30 days will not display or sync.
I spent 1.5 hours with Motorolla tech support today (live chat) trying to solve this to no avail. The tech said the problem is on my company's Exchange server. I said the bug is in Android 2.1. Example: my iPod touch syncs everything with the Exchange server including past events.
Just now I installed Touchdown on my Droid X. Everything sync'ed - all events, past, present and future. They display nicely in the Touchdown calendar display.
These past events still will not display in any of the stock calendars.

Nov 5, 2010A few months ago, I started a thread regarding the problem that VZW and Motorola both identified as a problem with MS Exchange Server 2003 and 2007 not sync'ing right away.
Corporate Outlook/Exchange Sync - Push
I called and spoke with a tech at Motorola and said with the next OTA for the Droid 2 (which just happened) it was supposed to fix it, however it didn't. Does anyone on the inside have any insight as to what's going on? I'm back to using Improved Email for instant push delivery of my Exchange messages.
I did get the OTA the other day, and the version number did change, but nothing of significance.
Really starting to get pissed with this phone with I mostly use it for my job and e-mail. I shouldn't have to rely on a third party application for delivery of my e-mail. G-Mail works fine, but Exchange works about 5% of the time without me having to go in a do a manual refresh...then 10-20 messages pop up.
Fresh install and no longer rooted.

Jul 20, 2010My first experience with Android was 2 weeks ago when i finally received my Incredible (after having it on order for a month). I came from a Blackberry connected to my company's BES Server. I had started taking pictures of my contacts with my Blackberry and the pictures synced with the contacts in my Outlook.When I setup the Incredible to sync with the exchange server all of the pictures I had for my contacts instantly showed up as the contacts picture on the phone (just like on the Blackberry). I just figured that is how it is across all of the Android phones.Got my X last friday and found out that it apparently doesn't pull the contacts pictures from Exchange when i gets the rest of the data. Neither does it push pictures taken from the phone up to Exchange.My question is: is the Droid X's software lacking this feature normal for Android phones?Do Nexus One's and Samsung android phones sync contact photo's with Exchange?Trying to figure out if syncing contact photo's is just one of the extra niceties that come with the Incredible's Sense UI?

Sep 10, 2010I just got my D2 the other day and have it all setup, but something I've noticed differently from the D1 is that all my Outlook/Exchange e-mails take 5-10 minutes to be delivered even with the Push feature turned on. On the Droid 1, the messages were delivered instantly ometimes even before they arrived in my Outlook client at my desk.
I have it setup as a Corporate Sync account with all the same settings, but I feel like they have taken a step backwards with the Corporate Sync settings. I'm running 2.2.20 (rooted of course), but it's just a hit or miss when the messages come in. I did call VZW's tech line and the lady on the phone said there was some memo about this issue. She didn't mention if there was a work around, or if a fix is coming. It's almost as if the Sync button doesn't do anything.

Nov 22, 2009I am new to the andriod thing and just recently obtained the Moto Droid. I am desperately trying to figure out a way to sync my outlook (non exchange - yahoo) account with it.
I have searched the threads an unable to find any answers thus far. I have already looked into Compainion, gschink (sp) which continuely lost #'s, contact names and company names (thank god I had other back-ups), and MyLink. I understand that if you have an Google account this works some what in a way and I have also used a few online exchanges but they all just don't "SYNC" all information. I am coming from a BB and I understand that the Droid is not a BB but I really like so many of the other features that if I could just get this machine to sync in a business manner I would keep it! I am coming close to my 30 days and have to either get this to sync or put it in the box and return.
I came across this site www.hyperoffice.com and because I am not so familiar with the android os I'm not sure if this is a solution or not. I am asking the vets here if this is something that could be mine and so many others answer to the full features of syncing?

Sep 1, 2010I just got my first Android phone, a Droid 2.I previously had the original BlackBerry Storm which when I first got it I loved but after a very short time I came to hate for it's crappy interfaces terrible performance and so on. But one thing that it did very well was work with my corporate exchange email.I use rules to move new email from the inbox to folders that really help me to keep my email organized, which is very important since I get 200-300 emails on a normal day and many more when there are emergencies at work. As each was moved to the appropriate folder I would get my notification on my BB and could go read the mail. However now that I am using Froyo, I find that it can see all of my emails and shows the correct folders and so forth but I only get notifications for email that is in the inbox. This does not work well especially when I have a customer emailing me with an emergency.
Is there a way to setup my rules so that they wait for 6 hours (or whatever time I select) before they are moved to one of the other folders so that I can still get my notifications on my Droid 2 but still keep the mailbox relatively organized?I hate the idea of running the rule manually because Outlook requires you to select each one individually and since I have about 50 rules this is a hassle, another option would be to make the rules Client Side only but I cannot seem to find a way to do this either so if anybody can give me instructions on this that would be great.Of course if you have a way that you use for this that works better please let me know as I am open to suggestions, these are just the options that I have come up on my own.
Motorola Droid X :: Exchange Email Won't Sync 2.2 On Droid X
Nov 30, 2010Since upgrading to 2.2, I had to remove and re-add my Exchange email account to get rid of the required security code input (as most users have). Since doing this, even with it set to Push, and to default to Fetch every 15 min if Push is not available, I have to manually hit Refresh to retrieve new email. This is also happening with a co-worker's DroidX, but not with another co-worker's phone, which is a different model.

Sep 15, 2010We just upgraded to Exchange 2010 at work, and all our other phones work just fine. Evo, iphones, other Droid models, so it's not the server. This one phone is the only one we have that is a Eris and we can't get it to sync contacts. I have tried to clear the calendar storage, nothing, redid the account, nothing. It gets email and contacts just not the calendar and has the ! next to the sync circle. If anyone can please tell me how to resolve this it would be great. Been searching for 2 days trying to figure it out.

Jun 2, 2010Ever since 2.1 OTA I can't get my sync settings to stick.I want it to push items as they arrive. I check that box, but when I exit out, it goes back to manual. I've tried changing this in the email settings and in the main sync settings.This is driving me crazy- I keep missing my work emails!Also- I have never figured out how to get my vibrating notifications back after the OTA. If my ringer is on vibrate, the only notification I have that an item arrived is my LED.Finally- has anyone found the fix to the multiple notification email bug? I still get 3-4 notifications for one email when my ringer is on ring.
