I've noticed more than once my Evo will not switch back to the Sprint network after roaming. At my house I get full signal so it's not a quality issue. It just seems like the phone won't switch back! If I reboot the phone all is ok again.

I have the 3500mah battery for my hero it got down to about 10 percent so I switched to the stock battery and when I. Switched back to the 3500mah battery and my battery widget says its at 50 percent I mean I can understand the widget isn't perfect but wow that's a big margin to be off by so how do I know how much charge it really has? O and i used the htc widget.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi've been watchin' YouTube via the bookmarks w/o a problem. well i today i switched it "desktop" view b/c i wanted to share a video from there (which i did). however i do not see a link where i can switch back to either "mobile or touch" views. also the YouTube app that comes w/ the phone has YET to work since i got the phone. is this (app not working) common? & can some1 tell me how to switch back to touch view? i'm hoping that i do not have to reset my phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe problem - when viewing a webpage such as craigslist, if I click into an ad and then go back to the previous page my location on the previous page always defaults close to the top of the page instead of that last link I clicked. This is a very annoying problem if your a hardcore craigslist junkie like me because you can be you have to scroll back thru all of the ads you looked at just to get back to where you originally were.
Trying to fix the problem using two kinds of soft resets, a hard reset, resets followed by reinstallations of 2.1 ,etc etc, I finally went to a sprint store to get it checked out and the rep had a Hero that did the same damn thing! Apparently he didn't have a problem with his phone doing this because he just kept giving me some dumb blank stare.
1.5 never had a problem with web pages forgetting their locations when using the back button. Yet I haven't seen anybody else complain about this. Is anybody else able to recreate this problem? One thing to look for, after I reset the phone, reinstalled 2.1 or cleared the internet cache, the phone will do fine for a few minutes, recognizing pages like its supposed to, but after usually 4-6 times of clicking links the phone goes right back to forgetting locations.
I upgraded to 2.1. With 1.5 I had a phone I loved that worked fine and the only problem I had was a laggy phone-book, now I have a phone with a laggy dialer and that doesn't do web pages correctly. BTW, it does this with all browsers, not just the stock browser and Dolphin.
When traveling near my home area I encounter areas with no Sprint service. The phone roams into Verizon network which is very strong in my area. Beginning last week when I attempt to make a call when roaming on Verizon I get a message stating Verizon can not verify this phone number unable to make call. I contacted Sprint about the problem. They suggested a few things i already did, update PRL and profile etc.... which did not help. They told me there was nothing they could do because they cant guarantee service on their phones when roaming. This baffles me because phone roamed fine on Verizon for 6 months all of a sudden it doesnt. Any ideas on how this can be fixed? About 30 percent of my home town has no Sprint coverage so I guess I am just SOL.

View 1 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?

It seems a bit odd that nobody has posted about it here.I live in Houston Texas.

I have a problem with my Android Tablet (not sure if Android 4.1/4.2/4.3 but well, possibly). I wanted to use it for a bit, but it froze right when I opened the browser. I pressed the switch button, it went black and then it didn't switch on or did anything at all. After a while, it worked again, not really, but well, it showed the last thing I was doing while using it, but it was still frozen and I couldn't do anything. Now it stays like that and nothing happens. I tried pressing the switch button (together with the up/down volume), but nothing happens. It stays like that, turned on and frozen. My friend suggested me to leave it like that until the battery dies (when I was last using it, it had 40-30% battery left).
My tablet is from a network brand (or whatever it is called), Cosmote (Cosmote MyTab) and it worked perfectly so far ): I'll take it to a service if it still stays like that, but I would avoid that, since my parents will think I did something wrong, even if I didn't!
I have been a Sprint customer for a very long time. My wife and I both have smartphones and we have the Unlimited 1500 plan. To my knowledge, this includes everything (excluding International calls.....which I know for a fact thanks to an $1800 fraud that was on my bill 2 months ago). I digress, data roaming is included as a part of this plan as far as I know.
I checked my bill online yesterday, and there was an alert that I have used 3800+KB of data roaming.
Now....let me start by saying, yes, I do have the setting checked to allow for data roaming (as to my knowledge, it's included in my plan). I do have the Hero (my second one) and for the life of me, I can't figure out why it goes into roaming mode more than any other Sprint phone I've ever owned. My wife's phone could be sitting next to mine, and I'll be roaming while she is not. That being said, I can guarantee there have been instances where I've roamed and pulled down data (checking email, automatically checking weather/facebook/twitter/etc, internet) and I've never seen this alert on my account.
I called Sprint last night to question it, and they put a $20 service credit on my account. That's all fine and great, as I'm not going to turn down free money, but I had explained that my concern was that the alert is showing up to begin with. I even explained that while I appreciate the credit, I'd rather just have this situation resolved so that I don't have to call back next month if these charges appear.
My question is this, has anyone ever seen this before? I am rooted, I am running Fresh 2.1.1 and I have the latest SPRINT radio flashed from Flipz' website. I have had this setup for a little over 2 months now, so this isn't the first billing cycle that this setup has seen. I can't figure this out for the life of me.
If this continues to be a problem, it's either going to require a new device or a new carrier. I live in a very populated western suburb in Chicagoland and have NEVER had a problem with roaming or poor signal until I got the Hero in October.
So I made LP my default launcher by checking the "make default" box which of course disables the choice. I'd like to switch back to ADW. Without un installing LP is there a way to switch back to ADW?

My ROM is Asia India I have downloaded it by following the thread: [URL]... but I have found that there is no Wifi hotspot apk in this ROM. I have tried to replace it from JaggyRom but it is still not showing me in the Wireless & Connectivity Menu.
Also I have downloaded the stock ROM from [URL]... but I dont know how to install it as it is a .tar file.
I'm heading to Halifax, Nova Scotia for a week and will be bringing my Hero with me. I'll be calling Sprint customer support to see what options are available for voice and data, but I trust the advice of folks in this forum.
Is there any international voice and data plan that i can sign up for so that I don't end up paying sky-high roaming rates? I really don't want to have to keep my phone in airplane mode the whole week. Any advice from travelers to the "Great White North" would really be appreciated, eh?

When i use Home Switcher to switch homes (htc Sense and Launcher Pro) when i go to the app and click use sense as default when i press the home key it still goes back to launcher pro..so when i use sense i need to try to not press home which is annoying! Also i have hand cent sms and i get a double notification. for some reason when i go to messages>menu>settings n go to unchecked received notifications i still for some reason get notifications from the stock. I even went to make sure its unchecked and it is!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've met a very strange issue that my app will crash if user first switch to landscape, then back to portrait. I found that Activity.setContentView() will throw an inflate exception. It said:
android.view.InflateException: Binary XML file line #29: Error inflating class <unknown>
This crash will happens on Android 1.6/2.1/2.1-update1, but doesn't happen in 2.2 Froyo. In Froyo, everything works fine. If the XML I used is invalid, it should happens every time when I try to inflate. But why it's okay on the first time of running and switching to landscape? This also only happens on some devices. For example, there two HTC G1 with same software installed on it and has the same configuration, one has this issue and the other one works fine.

So I would like to know if there is any simple way to switch back to previous tab, and keep the tab as what it was. For example, one of the tab views contains a ViewSwitcher child, and I want to switch back to the switched view after recreating the activity.
