So I made LP my default launcher by checking the "make default" box which of course disables the choice. I'd like to switch back to ADW. Without un installing LP is there a way to switch back to ADW?

I've met a very strange issue that my app will crash if user first switch to landscape, then back to portrait. I found that Activity.setContentView() will throw an inflate exception. It said:
android.view.InflateException: Binary XML file line #29: Error inflating class <unknown>
This crash will happens on Android 1.6/2.1/2.1-update1, but doesn't happen in 2.2 Froyo. In Froyo, everything works fine. If the XML I used is invalid, it should happens every time when I try to inflate. But why it's okay on the first time of running and switching to landscape? This also only happens on some devices. For example, there two HTC G1 with same software installed on it and has the same configuration, one has this issue and the other one works fine.
In my TabActivity the user may be asked to switch to browser activity for OAuth phase, and if the phase takes too much time, my activity will be killed. After the user switches back to my activity, its onCreate() method is invoked again and tabs are recreated.
So I would like to know if there is any simple way to switch back to previous tab, and keep the tab as what it was. For example, one of the tab views contains a ViewSwitcher child, and I want to switch back to the switched view after recreating the activity.
I tried to switch from Launcher Pro back to Sense and it just keeps force closing HTC Sense.

My ROM is Asia India I have downloaded it by following the thread: [URL]... but I have found that there is no Wifi hotspot apk in this ROM. I have tried to replace it from JaggyRom but it is still not showing me in the Wireless & Connectivity Menu.
Also I have downloaded the stock ROM from [URL]... but I dont know how to install it as it is a .tar file.

Switched back to the 3500mah battery and my battery widget says its at 50 percent I mean I can understand the widget isn't perfect but wow that's a big margin to be off by so how do I know how much charge it really has? When i use Home Switcher to switch homes (htc Sense and Launcher Pro) when i go to the app and click use sense as default when i press the home key it still goes back to launcher pro..so when i use sense i need to try to not press home which is annoying! Also i have hand cent sms and i get a double notification. for some reason when i go to messages>menu>settings n go to unchecked received notifications i still for some reason get notifications from the stock. I even went to make sure its unchecked and it is!

View 8 Replies View RelatedVery happy with the i9000 in the last few days of ownership, using launcher pro in place of stock but otherwise mostly unchanged. One issue we have is that after being at home overnight on WiFi, the phone doesn't automatically re enable 3g. To restore the mobile data you have to go into the network operator selection and re select Optus (our carrier here in Aus). Leaving it on auto doesn't help, and you have to manually choose it each time (ie: it "forgets" what I selected or something). Using apndroid to mangle the apn on/off doesn't help. Restarting the phone fixes it but obviously not ideal.
Have tried entering the code to change it to gsm only instead of the default wcdma/gsm auto with no benefit. When the mobile data is working, it happily switches between 2g and 3g, but will sometimes simply stop working as per the wifi overnight problem and I have to manually select the operator again. This happens very randomly and can go several days without drama, our only a few minutes. While this data won't connect, the phone capabilities aren't affected and you can make and receive calls fine. In fact if you dial a number it sometimes causes the data to re connect.
If I am using LauncherPro and want to switch back to the original home screens..........how would I go about doing that? I don't want to uninstall.......just switch back for a bit.
Are the widgets sizeable and customizable in LauncherPro?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
I call WebView.clearHistory(), but I am still able to go back after doing so. I want to reuse a WebView, but I don't want the back button to allow the user to go back further than the current "session" of using the WebView. Anybody know what is the best way to handle this? I thought for sure that clearHistory() would do it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn my android application i have a video list screen,a buffering screen and a videoplayer screen.
As soon as the user clicks an item from videolist screen ,he is navigated to buffering screen and then to videoplayer.
In the buffering screen i am using Async task and doing the loading process in on background process.
Now my issue is like the user if has selested a video then gets navigated to buffering screen.But if the user clicks back when he is in buffering screen then initially he is getting navigated to videolist screen but immediately after that again he is navigated to videoplayer screen.
What i would like to have is either the back button should be made disable in buffering or should prevent the player tostart if back is clicked.
I'm roooted. I downloaded bootstrap and the first thing i did was create a nandroid back up for my x. then i proceeded to try and install tranquility rom. it got stuck in a bootloop. so when i rebooted into recovery it now goes for some reason to the droid stock recovery and i can't revert back to my back up. what do i do?!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm finding that I'm using the back button A LOT whether browsing the web or just navigating the OS. It kind of sucks because the buttons on the droid x are well, really small, and sometimes hard to press because they are so narrow and flimsy feeling. And depending on how you are holding the phone, it could be a good bit of distance for your thumb to travel or I'm finding myself having to reposition the phone in my hands just to reach the back button, which you seem to need very frequently.
Anyone know of any kind of back 'swipe' implementation ? Like some software you can install that makes it if you swipe left to right on maybe the top bar it goes back?
Instead of trying to grab the notification bar and swiping it down, simply start ABOVE the screen and swipe down. Fast or slow makes no difference.
You can swipe it back up, or simply hit the back button.
In the last few days I am having to press the back button twice when using both the stock android browser and the latest version of chrome on my rooted S3.
