Now that the update is out how do we switch back to the stock message notifications? I have deleted the other app but when I get a text message my phone no longer alerts me.

Anyone else have the problem of their bookmarks in the stock browser reverting back to the default ones? Twice in the last week I have lost all of my bookmarks on a phone power off and back on - I did not go in and clear any data or cache in the browser.

Switched back to the 3500mah battery and my battery widget says its at 50 percent I mean I can understand the widget isn't perfect but wow that's a big margin to be off by so how do I know how much charge it really has? O and i used the htc widget.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi've been watchin' YouTube via the bookmarks w/o a problem. well i today i switched it "desktop" view b/c i wanted to share a video from there (which i did). however i do not see a link where i can switch back to either "mobile or touch" views. also the YouTube app that comes w/ the phone has YET to work since i got the phone. is this (app not working) common? & can some1 tell me how to switch back to touch view? i'm hoping that i do not have to reset my phone.

NOTE- I already tried ~Settings>Applications>Browser and then click the button Clear Cache and Clear Data then reboot your phone.~

So if I just run the 2.1 official, will that take care of it? Or should I use some other method to do it. Also, I see the update is an EXE, is that gonna give me troubles since I have a linux PC?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI rooted a few months back and was running CM6.1 and I recently went back to stock to see how it was. But now if I try to root using UniversalAndroot, it fails everytime. I tried versions 1.6.1 and 1.6.2
The problem - when viewing a webpage such as craigslist, if I click into an ad and then go back to the previous page my location on the previous page always defaults close to the top of the page instead of that last link I clicked. This is a very annoying problem if your a hardcore craigslist junkie like me because you can be you have to scroll back thru all of the ads you looked at just to get back to where you originally were.
Trying to fix the problem using two kinds of soft resets, a hard reset, resets followed by reinstallations of 2.1 ,etc etc, I finally went to a sprint store to get it checked out and the rep had a Hero that did the same damn thing! Apparently he didn't have a problem with his phone doing this because he just kept giving me some dumb blank stare.
1.5 never had a problem with web pages forgetting their locations when using the back button. Yet I haven't seen anybody else complain about this. Is anybody else able to recreate this problem? One thing to look for, after I reset the phone, reinstalled 2.1 or cleared the internet cache, the phone will do fine for a few minutes, recognizing pages like its supposed to, but after usually 4-6 times of clicking links the phone goes right back to forgetting locations.
I upgraded to 2.1. With 1.5 I had a phone I loved that worked fine and the only problem I had was a laggy phone-book, now I have a phone with a laggy dialer and that doesn't do web pages correctly. BTW, it does this with all browsers, not just the stock browser and Dolphin.
I am rooted and running Fresh. I need to exchange my phone because the mini usb slot on the phone is cracking off. If I do the official 2.1 update will it take me back to stock? I'm sure this is a repeat but I looked for an hour for the answer with no such luck.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI bought a Hero (CDMA) from a friend. Wasn't sure if I was going to keep it (bought it dirt cheap so was maybe going to resell it) but after playing around with it I decided to keep it. Rooted it, flashed in custom cyanogen ROM...set it up just the way I wanted it, all before activating the phone. LOL
So as I'm sure many of you know, you can't activate with a custom ROM. From what I've read in other forums, rooting doesn't matter when activating, it's all about the ROM. So I'll have to flash back to stock 2.1 to activate this thing. I called Sprint and played dumb but there was no way they could activate it apparently. Well, technically the phone is "activated" but can not be "programmed" for use with a custom ROM.
So will the flashback to stock 2.1 de-root? Or can I just back up my current ROM, flash to stock 2.1, activate and then simply reload my custom ROM?
So I rooted a little while back & have only been having problems. For whatever reason, the only rom I can get to work is Fresh 2.3. I've tried installing CM1, the nightlies, both the blue & vanilla themed version, and darchroid 2.8. I couldn't even get CM1 and darchroid 2.8 to get past the white htc screen. Is there any way I can get back to stock 2.1 and unroot? I'm hoping if I do that and try rooting again then maybe things will work. Also, is there any way to delete all the bloatware on fresh 2.3? I love the performance of the rom but I can't deal with how little memory it leaves me.
View 7 Replies View RelatedLet me start off by saying I did/still do have a nandroid and also a custom ROM zip on my SD. I used the ROM manager application to wipe data/cache, like I have done about 10 times this past week, and flashed a new ROM. So my phone reboots to recovery, "clockwork mod recovery", you have to use this recovery to use ROM manager, and instead of flashing the ROM, it gives me some error message. Now for anyone who isn't familiar with clockwork recovery, you can't flash a nandroid from it, you have to revert back to the stock recovery to flash a nandroid, or at least I do.
So now all I can do is reboot my hero which brings me back to stock 2.1 with no root access. Now I know what your thinking, "just flash your nandroid", but now I can't. To flash my nandroid I would have to reflash the stock recovery image through ROM manager, and now I'm stuck with the clockwork recovery image because ROM manager requires root to swap recoveries, and no ability to nandroid back to where I was before. Basically, unless there is a way to change my recovery back to stock without being rooted currently.
I think I hit something while I was asleep and deactivating my alarm clock. My phone has this stupid blue screen with shortcuts on the bottom. I want to return to the standard home screen. In addition, whenever I try to make a call the phone makes the call with my speakerphone activated. It's a Galaxy SII Skyrocket.

My ROM is Asia India I have downloaded it by following the thread: [URL]... but I have found that there is no Wifi hotspot apk in this ROM. I have tried to replace it from JaggyRom but it is still not showing me in the Wireless & Connectivity Menu.
Also I have downloaded the stock ROM from [URL]... but I dont know how to install it as it is a .tar file.
I'm running launcher Pro and during a missed call, I went to call log to text back, it defaulted to stock message program. It asked me which program I wanted to open and I accidentally chose stock and set it as default.How can I change it back to hand cent?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen i use Home Switcher to switch homes (htc Sense and Launcher Pro) when i go to the app and click use sense as default when i press the home key it still goes back to launcher pro..so when i use sense i need to try to not press home which is annoying! Also i have hand cent sms and i get a double notification. for some reason when i go to messages>menu>settings n go to unchecked received notifications i still for some reason get notifications from the stock. I even went to make sure its unchecked and it is!

View 5 Replies View RelatedFresh 1.1 lock screen is clear. I personally do not like that, BUT when I try to load another one via Pre-kitchen, it loads, reboots, and its still the same. I click to clear cached lock screen, reboots, still the same. Anyone know why it won't change? the boot screen changed first try, so that is good, just that damn lock screen. I don't like the clear thingy.

Every time I set my screen timeout to anything other than the default 30 seconds, it will just change itself back in a couple of minutes.
