Samsung I7500 :: Any Way To Flash Official Update From Phone?
Aug 6, 2010I got the Galaxy from my mother (she switched to another phone), but she lost the USBcable. I found a way of sending files via WiFi to the sdcard, and also connected adb via WiFi, but I can't flash the new recovery because I'd have no WiFi connection in fastboot. Is there a way to flash an official update from the sdcard using stock recovery? I successfully entered recovery but there are no options, and I can't find a guide of any kind. I tried buying the cable, but none of the shops had the official one, so finally I bought a third party cable that only charges the phone through usb, but windows gives me some error and doesn't recognize it as a device.

Mar 18, 2010I was wondering whether the galaxy needs a scratch guard? I haven't yet taken off the samsung screen film yet (lol). I have an ipod touch and I didnt find the need for a scratch guard or screen protective film. I also read that capacitive touch screens are made so as to have easy moving of the finger on the screen. So would a scratch guard reduce its performance? also If i didnt use one, would the screen get any scratches?

Mar 27, 2010I have a problem with 3g connenction since flashing galaxo1.6.1 coming from ii4 if i recall correct. after being disappointed of galaxo for that reason i decided to flash another custom 1.5 firmware (archers italy ROM) which runs perfectly except i also have the same problems with 3g (connection is working after boot, but only for a while then the 3g icon is still there but only the upload arrow blinks, and no data is coming in). some guy on a german forum told me he had the same problem untill he went back to ii5 which changed the baseband also and now 3g works perfect again. so i guess if i could flash only baseband from ii5 this could maybe solve my problem without having to flash 3 firmwares in a row. the only thing i do not know is how to do this, where in the package is the baseband located, and is it possible to do so?

Mar 12, 2010I'm having a problem with my phone, I've had 2 lines show up at the top of my screen in the past couple of days. They're both multi-coloured and definitely look glitchy. They show up even in boot screens, fastboot, recovery, etc. I thought it might have been a problem with Galax0 that I was running, so I tried to re-flash it with Odin, and Odin seems to finish, but the phone does not actually get flashed. It stays at my previous firmware, with all apps installed, but when it reboots with Odin, the screen doesn't work (except in between the two lines at the top, so I can just see the bar at the top). I pull the battery and reboot, and it works, but is very glitchy.

Okay so my question is, can I flash Galaxo 1.6.2 or GAOSP "without" ODIN flashing or updating my firmware to 1.6? and not then what consequences would occur if I don't flash firmware update before GALAXO 1.6.2 flash. My phone firmware version is I7500ZHJA1 and I believe that is the latest firmware for my region which is still Android 1.5.

Sep 7, 2010I don't understand why while using the lock feature on my Incredible when i recieve a text it shows up on the screen before i unlock the phone. isn't the point of locking it to keep prying eyes from seeing your stuff? Sep 26, 2010I've been looking around for a while trying to see if anyone posted something like this and I have not found anything quite like what is going on with my phone. I got my pattern code wrong enough times so my vibrant is requesting I enter google account information in order to let me in. I have not been able to access the phone this way since it will not accept the google info I am inputting. I know my username and password are correct since I have verified them on my computer to ensure that I am using the correct information.
I have followed the instructions for accessing the recovery mode menu..and have deleted user data and cache twice, and the phone is still prompting me to enter my google username and password. I contacted TMobile support and they were useless. Is there any way for me to bypass this screen? What is the proper way to do a real master reset of my phone that will actually delete the data I have already inputted into the phone?
I am somewhat freaking out because I just bought this phone today, and cannot believe this is happening. I've been searching these forums and online for hours looking for a solution but nothing that I have found has worked. If I could get the phone back to factory settings that would solve the issue, but I can't find a set of proper instructions that actually delete the data since the phone is still prompting me for the google information due to my getting the pattern code wrong.

Sep 7, 2010I was taking a picture with my phone a little bit ago, and my phone locked up. None of the buttons would work and I couldn't hold power button down or nothing. So I pulled my battery out, let it sit for about 5min and put it back in. Now it's been about 10min and still on the "AT&T World Phone" screen. I'm going to just leave it on that screen and hope the battery dies all the way soon, then hook it up to the wall and see if it will turn on. I know the iphone has a way where you can reset a phone if it locks up, and of course i have my numbers backed up to my google account so I'm not worried about that. Don't really care about the videos/pictures I have on ther ebecause I typicall upload to youtube/flickr right after I take them.
