is there a way to change songs on the screen when the screen is locked? Is there an app to change this? Its tedious having to unlock the screen everytime you want to pause/skip songs.

I love the samsung andriod phone but someone please tell me there is a way to skip songs while the screen is locked. I know my BBerry would advance songs by holding the "up" volume toggle for a few seconds but that doesnt seem to work. There has got to be a way that doesnt involve me unlocking my phone each time i dislike the song!
View 3 Replies View RelatedComing from a Iphone to the X the music player is a little lacking. Often I will go into a certain artist and want to play all the songs by that artist, or thumb through all their songs to find a certain one. On the stock music player on the X this seems hard to do (maybe I'm missing something).
if I pull up the music by artist and select a certain artist then it shows me all their albums (The iphone has the option at this point to select all albums and see all the songs of that artist in alphabetical order). The X doesn't give a option to select all albums at this point. If I go to artists and long press on a certain artist I can select play and it will start playing all that artists songs, then I can hit pause and go into the list from that point to see all the songs but they seem to be in a random order making it hard to find a specific song.
I've tried a couple other players and haven't been able to find one that functions like the Iphone, makes it hard to quickly find one song.

This was something I could do with my G1 and Palm Pre. Can the EPIC do this as well? Or it just the headphones? Can someone confirm?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the past, when listening to music on my Incredible, if I locked the phone the music would continue to play just fine. If I wanted to pause/play/skip a song, all I had to do was hit the power button and above the "Slide to unlock" bar there was a music control bar.
Now, my music still plays, but those buttons are gone from the lock screen. This is a pain because in order to pause my music when someone comes to my desk at work I have to hit the power button, unlock the phone, slide down the notifications window, wait for the music app to load then hit pause.
Anyone know how to get these buttons back?
I'm hoping for some pointers. I simply want two buttons.. nothing more, to allow me to control my music.I know, I know. "Why not just use the music widget?" Cause it's ugly (in my opinion).With Bettercut, I'm aware that you can create your own shortcut, but you have to have the source code or some sort of.androidaction.blah in order to create it. I'm just curious if I could use that or if there's something out there that's better.I don't need to know the artist or the song that's playing, I just, well, I miss the days of double clicking my home button and hitting next or stop with my iPhone. I have about 300 songs on my device and I haven't even heard half of them. Is anyone having the same problem? How are people working around this?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with the music player, the music was crackling badly, I thought it was the headphones so I tried 3 different pairs and the same thing happened, it kept stuttering in the middle of songs. I am not at all happy about that. My mp3 player worked perfectly with the same music files, they are WMP files not mp3 because to me mp3 sounds compressed to shit. I said to because the sound quality blows away any mp3 player and when it isn't stalling and breaking up. I am considering flashing with Odin today and swapping it for number 3. I have not spilled anything on my phone or dropped it, I am so careful with it and I am curious if anyone else has this problem or does mine have a defect. I love this phone and really want to stick with it. I would like to use it for music because the sound when working is amazing. If it is a defect in my phone I will swap for another.

Is there any way to monitor for KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_CENTER while the the screen is locked? I have been looking through the documentation but have not found any information on how to do this.

Is there anyway to change the song (as in skip it to the next) on Pandora when the screen is locked? I've been hooking my Ally up to an AUX port in my car and wanted to know if there was an easy way to keep changing the songs while on the road because I lock my screen with a touchcode and find it a big bother to keep having to turn my phone back on to change the song.
Does anybody know if it's possible to slide open the keyboard, but keep the screen locked? I couldn't find any settings connected to this, but even when the keyboard would slide (just a little), the phone would automatically turn on and unlock. I want to prevent that from happening.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEven with stock earbuds, the Epic's lowest volume setting is hot enough to cause hearing damage if used over long periods of time, particularly if the style of music being listened to isn't classical and has a continuous loud dynamic level.
With higher quality earbuds like the Etymotic HF2, UE Superfi 5vi and Shure E4c (all of which I've tried), the lowest setting becomes unbearably loud.
Since the music player and system adjust the same exact level, there's no way to affect the gain structure of the Epic, which means that better earphones become painful to listen to -- which is a shame, since the Epic sounds good out of the box and benefits from the upgrade.
Does anyone know of a different music player or app that allows you to adjust the volume to lower levels than the system volume currently provides?
Question: has anyone here been able to play music via USB connection in their car?
If so, then list your car brand and model. How did you do it? Are the songs all MP3? from Itunes? Are the songs in any particular folder on the microSD card?
Me: 2010 Prius NAVI...the car audio can only read 3 songs out of many (all from Itunes). I do have 2 songs from Amazon MP3, but they are not read either. The same 3 songs over and over again. My phone is in "mass storage" mode.
Is there a way to change the song/look at whats playing on the lockscreen while you are playing music with the stock player? I always have to unlock, drag down the notifier bar, click on the player. On my hero, there was a music thing on the lockscreen where I could pause, or go to the next/previous song?

View 5 Replies View RelatedHave been using the HTC and Android music players on the Desire, both pretty decent and do the job. However when listening to a mixed album where the songs - despite being separate files - mix into each other, there's a small gap/delay as it stops playing one song and starts the other. The Android player's gap is shorter than the HTC version (which is a shame as I like the HTC's widget), but there's still a gap. Is there anything I can do to either widget so that there's no small delay? Or alternatively is there a music player out there that will play the songs with no gap?

Is anyone experiencing very slow load times when clicking to show Artists or Songs in the default music player? I have about 1800 songs, and when I click on either Artist, Album, or Song, it takes like 10 seconds to think about it and then finally pulls them up. They are stored on my 16GB SDHC card (Class 4). Any ideas or is it something I'll have to live with?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI like to put it on random and I have like 1600 songs. It plays a lot of songs more than once, does it not remember what it has played and what it has not? Very annoying to hear the same song again when I have so many. Another thing is when I have it on shuffle if it is playing for example a Eminem song, All it wants to play is Eminem songs for the next ten tracks or so until I keep skipping.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the Samsung Moment, and I've run into this problem with both the default Music app as well as MixZing. Haven't tried any others yet, though.
So, everything but about 3 (out of a few hundred, haha) songs is tagged properly and shows up under artist as one expects, sorts into the correct albums and all - but within albums the songs go alphabetically, rather than by track number.
Does anyone know how to make my songs actually show up in the correct album order instead of just alphabetical order? Kind of messes things up if you're trying to listen to a musical.
Does anyone else notice that when you shuffle songs on the droid music player...the same artists alternate. it really isn't a good shuffle. The player will play one artist, then another, then the 1st, then the 2nd.
View 3 Replies View RelatedNot sure who's using "3" by rockon, but I've just downloaded it lastnight to test it out and for some reason a few of my songs which were downloaded by limewire don't show up in the list of songs. does it have to do with the way they're saved in the music folder? because the songs that have their own folder in my music folder come up great but ones that i've ripped off cds or downloaded as one offs on limewire don't seem to show up in the list of songs available? If you do'nt get what i mean heres a visual.. all the songs with thier own folders can be found on the "3" app but the ones below that don't have a folder don't show up. Is there something i need to do with them? rename them in teh properties or something?
