since installing petes bugless beast, the only problem im having is that the phone will ring, but the screen stays blank, or locked. anyone else having this issue? i cant tell who is calling.

The thing is that time to time my device does not respond to screen touch. For instance: then there is an incoming call it stays blank and I can not see who is calling and at the same time not able to answer it.
Touching the screen does nothing, only after pushing hard buttons, I am able to terminate the call. Also, when I am trying to access the OS from sleep mode by pressing the power button--there is no home screen--it stays blank. The only thing it does---the lights go on the home, menu, back and search buttons.
I did contact ot HTC help service and they told me to try to use the device in safe mode for two days. (this should terminate all 3rd party applications, that might cause the issue). Its my first day that I am use is in the safe mode and so far I do not experience any problems.
I do suspect that the reason of my problem could be the task killer that I am using in order to eliminator some programs running in background. But I did try out several task killers so far, however the issue remains the same
The Eris has been a good phone for me except the mentioned issues. The fix the worked for me was to remove the appollo software task manager. It kept closing something I xouldnt see and caused me issue. I went from 5 resets a day to 5 days and no reset. I now use task manager 1.11.9 with 0 issues.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAre any of you having trouble with this? The sensor doesn't seem to be working the way it should. I have a problem accessing the keyboard during calls to automated services and sometimes the screen won't stay lit long enough for me to end my calls.
Aside from that, my Droid keeps freezing up today. I haven't had any trouble with that before. I've got a week to go before I pass my 30 day trial. I'm not sure what to do. This phone has to be mailed in as I got it online. If there's a way to fix these problems, I'd rather not send it in and wait 3 weeks to receive a new one.
Has anyone noticed that if you uncheck the box to enable the lock screen that the Droid X's screen will turn on for incoming text messages? It's rather annoying as I would rather not use a lock screen but don't want the screen turning on for every new text either. Screen stays off fine if the lock screen is enabled. This is my first Android phone so not sure if this is how Android behaves or if it's a Droid X issue.

I would see the wallpaper and the 3 icons on the bottom of the screen (phone, application drawer, and contacts). It'd lag for a bit before things show up. The buttons on the bottom of the phone will light on and off when pressing the power button. What am i suppose to do in this situation or any other situation where my Droid isnt acting right? Well, i didnt know what to do so i just took out the battery and put it back in. I am not sure if thats the proper way of doing it. I hope my phone will be okay after that. So, whats the right way of going at it?

My screen keeps coming on while the phone is locked then it will go off and come back on like 2-5 sec later just an endless cycle. This is a factory 2.2 droid x with 2.2. Have launcher pro and some stuff on it did a virus scan with AVG said it was clean what gives here?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI hadn't charged my Droid in two days (yep, still working with GPS and WiFi on), so I thought I'd see how the phone alerted me that the battery was almost dead. When the LED began to flash red, the screen lighted up showing the lock screen with a notification that the battery has less than 10% charge remaining.
However, the screen would not turn off. It stayed illuminated, even after I (briefly) pushed the power button.
If I had wanted to preserve battery power, my only choice was to completely power off the phone.
This is the only situation I've encountered when the screen doesn't shut off after a period of inactivity. Also the only instance when it doesn't shut off when the power button is pressed. And it's probably the only situation where one would want these actions to occur to prevent faster battery drainage.
What have others noticed when their battery is dying?
I wrote about this earlier, I had an issue when making a call the screen stays off and I cannot access the keypad or anything while on a call when I remove the phone from my ear. I had this happen again today, but noticed it went away when I took the call indoors. This seems to be an issue when I make a call outdoors, maybe it is the bright sunlight, but the screen refuses to come back on when i am on a call outside. I had to use the keypad to make selections on a call today but was unable to since the screen stayed off. Have others noticed this happening in bright light calls outside? Also, what can be done to correct this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedNot sure how to fix this, but several times when I make a call and try to end it, the screen stays off and I cannot hit the END CALL button. This has happened a few times when I dialed the wrong number and wanted to just end the call before it connected, but when I flipped the phone back over from my ear it stayed off and the call kept going. Also, sometimes it will flash on for an instant then go back off again, still cannot end the calls.

If I hard-reset my phone, the compass will work flawlessly for about 3-5 days. After that it fails to function. It stays locked in one position and if it does move it is VERY sparatic.
This has been tested with multiple compass apps as well as any of the "augmented" reality apps (sky maps, Layer, etc)
This has happened with both COMPLETELY factory un-rooted phone as well as now that I'm rooted running Madoco Unofficial 1.2c.
If I do a hard reset it works fine. Its not any particular app doing it either. I've tested that theory.
I have a Droid (froyo, not rooted) on Verizon, and I use it to access 5 email accounts (yes, all are necessary). Two accounts are through Gmail, and the rest are non-google accounts using IMAP.Here's the issue: I use multiple devices to check my email, but when an email has been read on another device, the Droid notification stays on the phone. Basically my Droid shows email notifications every time I turn the screen on, even if all the mail has already been read somewhere else. Is there any way to set up the Droid so that the notifications are removed once emails have been marked as Read on the server? I don't think there is any stock functionailty for this, but was wondering if anyone can lead me in the right direction (maybe an app?) It may seem silly for some of you, but this prevents me from having to clear my notifications every time I'm about to get up from my desk, otherwise I never know if the notification on my phone is for new email or old email, and I'm on my phone all the time trying to figure that out so I don't miss something important.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have seen this buried within a couple of other threads, and thought it was worth starting a new thread on this issue, since I suspect it is getting more common. The issue is immediately when placing or receiving calls the screen goes blank, and locks up. I can not press the bottom on top right to wake it up. The only thing that wakes it up, is to open it to the keyboard. This started yesterday, I called Verizon and was transferred to Technical Support, Technical support tried to blame it on a Battery widget that I installed several days earlier. I told her my sister has had it on her Droid for months with no problems, she said I probably had a bad version. Even though I was not convinced, I removed the widget from my phone to test the fix, but it still died. Then she told me to hard reset, and again I was not convinced, so I took it in to a Verizon store, after 5 minutes the Technician decided to give a me new phone. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI listen to Slacker Radio a lot and I noticed that even though my screen will be locked, the volume rocker on the side of the phone will still be active to change the volume for the music. I'm kinda on the fence about whether I like this or not (sometimes it's annoying to unlock the screen just to change the volume by a notch or two, but I also don't want to change the volume by accident when it's in my pocket), but either way, is it supposed to be like this?
View 2 Replies View Relatedso been rooted for quite some time now, got my droid out of my pocket and its just a blank screen.Tried multiple battery pulls, memory card pulls, boots into recovery, nothing will get it to reboot again. its essentially bricked.I wasn't flashing anything battery was just charged, everythign was fine, 800mhz kernel.Now my question is can I return this phone to the Verizon store and still be under warranty, I've had the phone the day it came out with no problems.I think the screen just went out, I can still move the buttons on the screen even when they don't show, and I can also lock the phone with the lock button. Still will I be okay returning this on warranty with the screen out and rooted?

I don't even have the vibe turned on, but still it vibes, and does NOT ring. I'd like the vibe & ring (both) option. But would be happy with just the ring too.or have the choice to change when I want.I used to have a very old MOTO Razr, which have PROFILE setting for: Meeting, Outdoor, Silent, Vibe, Normal, etc. I'm surprised The Hi-tech Droid X has nothing like that.

I do get vibrate, but no sound. Rings don't work with standard system ringtones, my music, ringdroid ringtones. All I get is vibrate.On the other hand, notification tones are working perfectly fine (from anywhere).
