I used my phone at home a lot. Is there any way to disable the initial "phone locked"? It is very annoying to have to swipe every time I want to access the phone when it is just sitting on my desk. I looked in the manual and did not see any options regarding this.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI was taking a picture with my phone a little bit ago, and my phone locked up. None of the buttons would work and I couldn't hold power button down or nothing. So I pulled my battery out, let it sit for about 5min and put it back in. Now it's been about 10min and still on the "AT&T World Phone" screen. I'm going to just leave it on that screen and hope the battery dies all the way soon, then hook it up to the wall and see if it will turn on. I know the iphone has a way where you can reset a phone if it locks up, and of course i have my numbers backed up to my google account so I'm not worried about that. Don't really care about the videos/pictures I have on ther ebecause I typicall upload to youtube/flickr right after I take them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a big fan of just having direct access to my devices (i.e., no sync, no "management" front end). So this isn't about local access from the device (using MyFiles or Astro), but from a PC in the same location (so not like 3G remote). So far I've explored these options: USB Connect phone, mount from notification menu, and there you go. Bluetooth Pair phone, use "send file" from PC BT app (running in system tray).
Files drop into a 'bluetooth' directory, ready to move/use. Android Web OS Very beta-esque right now, but runs as a service on the phone, then you can access the filesystem (and SMS, eventually other functions). You can copy up to the phone or download (basically via a simple web mechanism). Use across Another service on the phone, a basic FTP server accessible across WiFi.
Works pretty good so far, I created a 'network location' in Windows, then a shortcut on my desktop into my MP3 directory on /sd. So I just open that folder, copy over MP3s. Doesn't matter where the phone is currently sitting or connected. For the services type options, I'm going to check out something like Locale or Tasker, when I can trigger the service to fire up based on a rule (a specific WiFi network trigger would be outstanding).

Well it keeps likes turning off. Well directing it self to the main screen "locked" once i unlock it. It says on the top internal mass and something else. Randmly does it. As well i can connect it to a pc..
Anyway else noticed that their screen sometimes flashes on and off whilst the phone is just sat there locked?

Since day one when I went on youtube to watch a video it asked me do you want to view view in browser or video?I liked deciding because if I clicked browser I could read and post comments..but I accidentally clicked the video viewer as daily and can't change it back.Now when I click a video on youtube I can't read or post any comments.

I wanted to know if there is any way to turn off the screen without the phone being locked or put to sleep.
This would be useful when controlling my phone from my PC via Teamviewer (I already see the phone screen in my PC, so having the other one ON is pointless) or when wanting to listen to some music coming from a video.
Is there a widget or shortcut that would bring up the phone options dialog that is seen when you long press the end/power button? That would solve some of the misery of not being able to easily switch the 3G on/off without using Sense and the HTC Mobile widget.

I've searched around, and found that holding down VOLUME DOWN and Power lets you hard reset the phone, but this doesn't work for me. I hold them down, and the phone just boots up like normal and then shuts off.I rooted it, and it was working fine. Rebooted a few times and then it quit working.

If I press power and look away for a second the screen goes black again. Its liek I have to hit power and jump right on it to enter my swipe code.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been looking around for a while trying to see if anyone posted something like this and I have not found anything quite like what is going on with my phone. I got my pattern code wrong enough times so my vibrant is requesting I enter google account information in order to let me in. I have not been able to access the phone this way since it will not accept the google info I am inputting. I know my username and password are correct since I have verified them on my computer to ensure that I am using the correct information.
I have followed the instructions for accessing the recovery mode menu..and have deleted user data and cache twice, and the phone is still prompting me to enter my google username and password. I contacted TMobile support and they were useless. Is there any way for me to bypass this screen? What is the proper way to do a real master reset of my phone that will actually delete the data I have already inputted into the phone?
I am somewhat freaking out because I just bought this phone today, and cannot believe this is happening. I've been searching these forums and online for hours looking for a solution but nothing that I have found has worked. If I could get the phone back to factory settings that would solve the issue, but I can't find a set of proper instructions that actually delete the data since the phone is still prompting me for the google information due to my getting the pattern code wrong.
is there a way to change songs on the screen when the screen is locked? Is there an app to change this? Its tedious having to unlock the screen everytime you want to pause/skip songs.

Is something wrong with just the app or phone? Has anyone experienced this?
