Just got the aforementioned phone, installed some apps, rooted the thing, but it appears that the pull down notification bar at the top is locked, and won't respond to anything. This is pretty annoying, as you can imagine. I'm probably missing something obvious here, but does anyone know how I can unlock it?

I've been looking around for a while trying to see if anyone posted something like this and I have not found anything quite like what is going on with my phone. I got my pattern code wrong enough times so my vibrant is requesting I enter google account information in order to let me in. I have not been able to access the phone this way since it will not accept the google info I am inputting. I know my username and password are correct since I have verified them on my computer to ensure that I am using the correct information.
I have followed the instructions for accessing the recovery mode menu..and have deleted user data and cache twice, and the phone is still prompting me to enter my google username and password. I contacted TMobile support and they were useless. Is there any way for me to bypass this screen? What is the proper way to do a real master reset of my phone that will actually delete the data I have already inputted into the phone?
I am somewhat freaking out because I just bought this phone today, and cannot believe this is happening. I've been searching these forums and online for hours looking for a solution but nothing that I have found has worked. If I could get the phone back to factory settings that would solve the issue, but I can't find a set of proper instructions that actually delete the data since the phone is still prompting me for the google information due to my getting the pattern code wrong.
locked myself out tried entering my Gmail but it didn't recognize it. tried the null method, hard reset, etc. didn't work at all. help
View 16 Replies View RelatedSo I purchased a samsung galaxy s vibrant off somebody through kijiji, he said the phone is supposed to be unlocked, when I go into the network settings, I can choose between rogers, talus and bell, I choose talus, it says I'm with Talus. However when I can't make calls or send text messages, but people can call me, on top of this, when I turn on the phone it says enter unlock pin code, what is this code, how do I fix it?

But I'd like to know what people are using and if its working good, the one thing I don't like about this phone is that, I know I can just use the side button to light it up to see, but I miss by led light off the Cliq.
My phone is locked after entering the unlock pattern incorrect too many times.It asks me for gmail username/password but this doesnt work, have tried dozens of combinations etc.The only option I think at this stage is to root the phone, but my Bootloader is .92.Can I root the phone using this?It's an unbranded Desire, running Froyo official HTC update.

I plan on getting this bad boy tomorrow and would like to know what's involved in getting this device unlocked. I currently have a contract with AT&T and cannot upgrade to the captivate so I plan on buying this from Costco. Would I be able to use this on AT&T and if so can someone point me in the right direction. This will be my first Android phone and can't wait to play with it!

Well it keeps likes turning off. Well directing it self to the main screen "locked" once i unlock it. It says on the top internal mass and something else. Randmly does it. As well i can connect it to a pc..
Ive had my Vibrant for about a week and a half and my power button seems like like it wore out like if i had it for about a year or something. When I first got the phone it was all good up until a couple days ago when I noticed it. So should I call Tmo customer service to get a replacement or wait it out till it get worse.

Seems silly that anyone could read your messages even if the phone is locked.
When I have the Vibrant's brightness set manually on 0, whenever I slide the notification bar down the brightness jumps to 80%. Anyone else have this problem?

This causes my phone to get very warm and the battery to lose about 1% per minute. In order to get it to stop I have to reboot. I can't figure out what is causing this issue. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWell i tried out a rom (backed up first) didnt like it. so i restored my backup and now my phone is stuck on the vibrant logo. the tmobile ding plays but nothing. and for some reason my phone wont go into download mode and ADB wont work on my pc. it comes up and disappears rapidly. it open in cmd prompt but nothing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm switching to use gsm phones and not cdma lke my currently company.So my friend has a droid( can't remember which one) and every time they tried putting in a sim card it would ask for some code, which I beleive would be the network unlock code.Now instead of doing the traditional method and buying an unlock code from the internet, would I be able to unlock the phone by maybe installing CWM and flashing a different ROM?

I found that I was only able to set it as the alert for one of my email accounts. If I try to set it up for the other one, it won't take. Like it's only allowed to be used for one or something. View 2 Replies View RelatedOk i promised I searched and didn't find a resolution to my question... Got my Vibrate on launch day. Love 95% of the phone. In a perfect world I would tweak a few things but by and large I am happy. HOWEVER after this most recent patch my battery full notification now also plays my notification sound. I.E. The very loud MP3 I have to wake me up in case I get a text in the middle of the night, now is going off at 3am to say "HEY battery is charged!!" Personally I would like to get rid of the battery notification all together, but I can work around everything but it playing that MP3. I know I can silence the phone but I WANT to know if I receive a text in the middle of the night. If it isn't possible to disable this alert I will simply not charge my phone at night so I really don't need alternative ideas, just to know if it is possible AND to provide feed back to someone this is less than an optimal situation if not.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI came across this in the marketplace. It basically lights up your screen on and off when you have a missed call or text. You have to option to set the frequency your screen flashes to notify you (every 5, 10 seconds, etc) and for how long this goes on (1 hour, 2 hours, etc) Gonna try it out. Not sure if it's a battery drainer or not, just trying it out myself.

What I'd like to do is completely disable any notifications showing that the charge is complete. Reason being, I use Bedside and at roughly 2am the notification closes bedside and lights my screen up until I acknowledge it. Then I have to close it, re-open bedside and I'm back in business. Anybody know a way to just turn that notification off all together?
View 15 Replies View RelatedUsing a Galaxy S4 with Android 4.3. I use the swipe feature to unlock the phone.
If the phone is unlocked when I answer an incoming call, I can use all of the phones features, including Mute, Speakerphone, etc.
However, if the phone is LOCKED when I answer an incoming call, I cannot unlock the phone. Pressing the main button does not bring up the screen to enter my password. It just stays blank. Therefore no Mute, no Speakerphone, no access to contacts, etc. By default, you can't even end a call! If someone called me and just put me on hold, I would have to pull the battery to hang up. Fortunately I have set the power button to hang up calls, but that doesn't really fix the overall problem.
So, how do I get the phone to at least let me unlock it when in this situation.
I was wondering, is there a way to have the screen come on and/or have the phone unlock when you get a text message or email notification?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was taking a picture with my phone a little bit ago, and my phone locked up. None of the buttons would work and I couldn't hold power button down or nothing. So I pulled my battery out, let it sit for about 5min and put it back in. Now it's been about 10min and still on the "AT&T World Phone" screen. I'm going to just leave it on that screen and hope the battery dies all the way soon, then hook it up to the wall and see if it will turn on. I know the iphone has a way where you can reset a phone if it locks up, and of course i have my numbers backed up to my google account so I'm not worried about that. Don't really care about the videos/pictures I have on ther ebecause I typicall upload to youtube/flickr right after I take them.
