View 4 Replies View RelatedI came across this in the marketplace. It basically lights up your screen on and off when you have a missed call or text. You have to option to set the frequency your screen flashes to notify you (every 5, 10 seconds, etc) and for how long this goes on (1 hour, 2 hours, etc) Gonna try it out. Not sure if it's a battery drainer or not, just trying it out myself.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis has happened to me a few times now. If I miss a call, or get a voicemail, the screen will turn on as usual but then it won't sleep until I either press the power button or unlock the phone. The screen will stay on indefinitely (on the lock pattern screen). This only started happening after I updated to 2.2. So now if I'm away from my phone and get a call, the battery will be almost completely drained by the time I get back to it (sometimes up to 4 hours later). This might also be happening if I get a calender notification too...anyone know what's going on?

View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to get a notification of a missed text/call/etc? Like maybe an occasional flash of the screen?
I often keep my phone on silent so I don't always notice texts. My old phone had the LED light to notify me, and before that I had an iPhone which would flash the display with a notice about the missed text/call.
I'm aware of NoLED, but I tried it and wasn't a fan, the icons are annoying. Plus it seems like it would take up battery.
I work alot in an area that has very spotty reception, or none at all. My problem is that my wife mainly, or ppl will call or text me and i will not recieve ANY notification of a missed call or text. Usually with my old phone "samsung eternity" i would recieve a missed call or text later once my phone got reception again. Any one else having this problem and also any fixes? My only idea is my task killer might be messing up with it. But i've ignored anything that has to do with text or calls.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there's an app to lump all my texts, emails, etc. together like my Blackberry. I searched the first 20 Samsung Moment pages of threads and didn't see anything on this. I also searched the forums with various keywords to try to find before I posted here.
View 25 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if I need a special app to be reminded of calls/texts that I've missed? I've had this feature on Motorola phones and on Samsung.
Ideally, if I miss a call and/or text, I would like to be reminded every n minutes either by vibrate or by ringtone (whichever's activated) until I acknowledge the missed call/text.
I don't know how people live without this. I've had a Nkia for 18 months and I got tired of having to look at the screen of the phone every time I finished taking a walk(could never feel vibrates while walking) taking a shower (they're not waterproof yet), etc.
I like would like to have a clock/weather app, shortcuts to phone, camera, and messaging, battery indicator, and notifications for missed calls and texts. Another big thing for me is the ability to turn off wifi/noise/and screen brightness from the lockscreen

I want to be get notified when the phone screen goes to sleep Help with a sample code.
Just got my refurbished Captivate in the mail today, charged and activated it as per the instructions. It worked just fine for about 30 minutes or so. I put on a few apps and showed them off to my roommate, and things were going fine. Then all of a sudden I couldn't send or receive phone calls, nor was I able to get/send text messages. With no pattern or logic I would go from 3g to edge to neither of the two symbols (just full signal strength) to the international no sign where my full bars just were. If I typed and tried to send a text while the no sign was visible it would send and receive texts as soon as I got signal back, but that would only last a few minutes.
I've tried hard and soft resets and restoring the phone to factory settings, all to no avail, as well as checking my message center number. I've looked around in the forums and can't seem to find anyone who has had this problem, and I was hoping someone would have some advice or could point me to a thread that I may have missed. I'd talk to AT&T but chat hours are over and I have to be up early for work tomorrow and need my phone for that, so I'm not sure I can ask customer service tomorrow beforehand.
Whenever I have a missed call lately my screen display light stays on when my phone is locked and it drains my battery. How did I fix this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedNoticed yesterday that on the homescreen when the phone was locked that a missed call and voicemail notification appeared as pieces removed from a jigsaw overlay of the background homescreen image. Hadn't seen that before. Is that a default thing or can I change it (did look rather cool though). I usually use the pattern lock rather than the default swipe lock, so I'm wondering if it's to do with that default setting.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to change the notification of missed calls, so it shows up on the home screen similar to how new messages, SMS or voice mails show up. The little notification Icon at the top of the screen in the status bar is way to small and gets lost among all the other notifications. Not looking for something that blinks or changes the color of my LED.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to get an audible notification for a missed call.I have tried the "Missed Call" application but it doesn't seem to give an audible notification. It will vibrate.I have a Nexus One and am really disappointed that this function isn't available on what is supposed to be a great phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have written a little application that gives LED notification for missed calls. (the default behaviour gives you only LED notifications for SMS, email and voicemail).
Features:
Customizable sound, vibration, led, repeat notifications for missed calls, incoming calls, sms, bluetooth enabled/disabled, bluetooth device connected, airplane mode, battery level low, etc. Version 0.8.9 includes a Locale plug-in! For all the Droid users make sure that you have got "Missed Call for Android 2.0" installed. You can try it out if you want.

I need to cancel the missed calls notification for a certain number. I've seen the NotificationMgr class on com.android.phone but i'm unable to call it trough reflection.

2. Is there an App for a Screen Tap turn on, I dont enjoy pressing the button on the side everytime?
3. Are there any other Screen lock Apps other than LockBot free?
Working on a new home screen. Trying to find a widget that displays notifications for the following:
Essential:
Sms
Missed calls
email
Not as essential:
Facebook
twitter
The widget needs to open the application too.Similar to how the iPhone works.Tried "missed" doesn't work how i wanted it to. Also using launcher pro plus 5*7.
My only complaint about the Droid is the seeming lack of options for notifications.
Is there a way, or an app, that would allow you to assign different notifications to emails vs texts vs missed calls?
Also, does anyone know if there's a way to set the phone to re-notify you periodically if you have a notification that has not been looked at? I tend to leave my phone sitting on my desk at work and would like it to let me know if I missed a call or text while I was away from my desk.
Ideally I'd like to silence email notifications, but have text and missed call notifications with unique ring tones for each, and I'd like the phone to renotify me every 10 minutes or so if I have a text or missed call waiting for me.
I used my phone at home a lot. Is there any way to disable the initial "phone locked"? It is very annoying to have to swipe every time I want to access the phone when it is just sitting on my desk. I looked in the manual and did not see any options regarding this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanted to know if there is any way to turn off the screen without the phone being locked or put to sleep.
This would be useful when controlling my phone from my PC via Teamviewer (I already see the phone screen in my PC, so having the other one ON is pointless) or when wanting to listen to some music coming from a video.
When I select the power button to bring the phone out of sleep the phone screen will turn off within a second or two. Is there a way to keep the screen on longer? If I press power and look away for a second the screen goes black again. Its liek I have to hit power and jump right on it to enter my swipe code.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having a problem of not having the screen turn on when you press the power button from sleep? It doesn't happen often but it does happen. This is my second Captivate as my last one would shut itself off randomly and that phone also had this problem.Yes, I make sure I pressed the power button and waited a couple seconds to make sure it just wasn't lag but I can guarantee you it is not. Like I said, it doesn't happen all the time but maybe once every 2 days. I'm guessing it's a slight problem with other users as it happened on my last phone but I'm not sure. Hopefully it's a software issue.
View 11 Replies View RelatedGot my android yesterday havent really played with it other than installing app killer, and checking to see if i could root(i cant :sadface and noticed on my mothers phone(same droid eris) that her notification light was blinking Green. i Checked the manual from the verizon website and all it mentions is green solid, red solid, and red blinking, nothing about Green blinking. It was not plugged in, it was not being used. I thought it was perhaps saying "hey you have a new message/email/missed call" but she had no notifications. anyone know what Blinking green means?

View 10 Replies View RelatedIf I missed a call or text while my Dare's screen was blank, all I needed to do was tap on it to wake it up and see who the call or text was from while the phone was still locked. On my Dinc, I have to press the top button to wake it up. Is there a way to change the settings so I can go back to just tapping the screen to wake it up?
Call me crazy, but that's just one of a few things that are making me miss my Dare! Don't get me wrong, I love my Dinc, but when you've been used to certain shortcuts for a few years, it's hard to change.
I saw a similar problem in the HTC Hero forums, without a concrete answer, but I wondering if it were a problem for Galaxy S users as well. Basically, I want to use the Gmail app that comes pre-installed. I have my Accounts set up to sync everything Google related: contacts, gmail, calendar, and picasa [which I don't use, but whatever]. I Don't want to use the Email app [the one with the @ symbol on the icon]. The problem I'm facing is there appears to be a fairly large delay between receive the email on my computer, and receiving it on my phone. I have Wifi Sleep set to Never, and enabled Notifications on the Gmail app as well.
