Anything you guys can think that could help? I've searched around, and found that holding down VOLUME DOWN and Power lets you hard reset the phone, but this doesn't work for me. I hold them down, and the phone just boots up like normal and then shuts off.I rooted it, and it was working fine. Rebooted a few times and then it quit working.

I've been in to Email > Account Settings, and also to the general Home > Settings and can't find it anywhere.I set it up the first time I set up the account on the phone, but can't find anywhere to change it or to change the duration in which the pin should be input (every thirty-minutes, hour, etc.).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the screen timeout set to 1 min which works fine until I use the phone. When using the phone the screen times out (and locks) in about 5 seconds. This is a real pain when using voicemail etc and you need to interact with the keypad.

Sounds and buttons still work, and I can turn the phone on and off, but the display remains utterly blank. I've pretty much written the phone off, there's probably nothing I can do for it. However, I would love to recover my pictures, contacts, and music from the phone. Is there any way I can do this without being able to see the phone display?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm in Canada and my service provider is Rogers, however I bought the phone in Hong Kong. At first, I rooted my Galaxy S i9000 so I can remove the stock apps, but I couldn't seem to unroot it so I flashed the firmware. At first it said "failed" so I had to reboot it back into download mode to start the flashing again. I forgot to put on the back cover during the flash and the battery fell out. Now when I turn on my Galaxy S, it stays on the welcome screen where it says "Galaxy S GT-I9000 Samsung" and does not do anything. Is my phone bricked and what can I do to fix it?

I can get it into recovery mode but I would like to save some pics and vids that I have on the internal SD card. Anyway to save files before I Odin flash this thing? View 2 Replies View RelatedAt certain angles under strong lighting (basically when light is shining onto, but not reflected back off the screen) I can see a line that looks like it might be the edge of a circuit board behind my screen (when the display is off). Initially I thought it was a scratch, but on closer inspection, it's too thick a line, and much too precise and engineered looking to be one.
It's sorta this shape and runs across behind the screen, about 2/3 of the way up:

I used my phone at home a lot. Is there any way to disable the initial "phone locked"? It is very annoying to have to swipe every time I want to access the phone when it is just sitting on my desk. I looked in the manual and did not see any options regarding this.

If I press power and look away for a second the screen goes black again. Its liek I have to hit power and jump right on it to enter my swipe code.

Every time the screen blanks after timeout it locks the phone - this is inconvenient because every time I pick the phone up to use I have to unlock it. is there any way to stop this - I would prefer it to never lock unless I use the power/lock button.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHas anyone been able to compare the Galaxy S and the Evo firsthand? I canceled my Evo order to see what the S Pro will be like. On paper I feel that except for the Evo's slightly bigger screen the Galaxy S has better features including better screen technology, but as we've heard with some peoples' Evos there can be hidden issues. Any thoughts? I guess it's not really possible to do a side by side comparison yet unless someone has one of the handsets and travels to a country where they're selling the other one, or has had a chance to use a prototype.

At times when I am browsing through my apps in the applications window, the phone suddenly goes back to the home screen after about 10-15 secs of inactivity. It vibrates a little bit as if the back button is being pressed. I am 100% sure I am not pressing the back button.
Other times, when I start up an app (gmail, facebook, internet, music player, etc) it goes back after about 10 secs of inactivity. It seems to always want to go back to the home screen and it will keep going back till it arrives at the home screen.
I just got my phone two days ago and haven't done anything much on the phone yet.
Anyone know the codes for the screen,vibration ect ect test for the SGS, I remember seeing it was posted somewhere.. A single service code that provides these tests.

Im guessing I should exchange my phone for a new one within my warranty period. Do I need to bring the original box and everything along with it to exchange it?
