View 8 Replies View RelatedI put Cognition on my phone today, and made a backup image of the stock 2.1 before putting Cognition on. I decided I want to go back to the Stock, so I clicked the "manage backups" part of Clockwork, and "recover" on the image I saved. Next, the phone rebooted, and looked like it was installing the backup image, and rebooted again. However, it will not go past the White AT&T screen. Is my only option to use Odin to give it a factory reset? Or is there an easier way for me to do this?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was rebooting my phone today and it every time I try it gets stuck on The Galaxy S logo with the big flashing "S" on the screen. It acts like it is going to boot up but just after the ATT screen and the boot sound it gets stuck. I did the one-click-lag-fix about 2 weeks ago and the phone has been running smooth ever since. My wife and daughter are on the road so not having a phone really stinks right now.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was running the JI6 2.2 with cognition beta5.5 and was attempting to update however I needed to swap kernels since the current kernel didn't verify signatures. I was using vmware on a mac and i started it but then continued to use the mac side however the computer disconnected the phone from the windows side and now it is stuck showing an image of a phone next to a computer with a triangle with a ! in it between the two. Pressing all hardware buttons does nothing but black the screen and go back to the same screen. I've taken out the battery, sim, unplugged the cord, everything. Can't get back into download mode to redo the kernal swap. It's definitely connected to a valid, and working, usb port and i am now on windows itself instead of vmware. What do I do?

I went to install the droid x Eye wallpaper - I transferred to my SD, then tried to install using Astro File Manager.. I get the popup stating that "For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in the Android Market".
Is this because Astro is not using super user privileges?
my brother said to look on the forums and i cannot find it: if i rooted my phone, then downloaded an apk file from the internet on my phone, how do i install it to work on my phone.

Anyway, I have already tried reseting it and taking out the battery, Format SD card, Taken out both cards. Maybe this phone Really is a piece of shit. It originally happened after I rooted my phone (original 1.5 software) following these directions: How To: Root the Samsung Behold 2 | The Unlockr. After that, I deleted DinerDash2, Midnight Bowling, Where's Waldo, IM, Talk, Amazon MP3, MyFaves, Telenav, HotSpot, Audio Postcard, Postcard.apk. When I tried to reboot my phone, I was stuck on the Samsung screen. I finally got the screen to go away, but a message repeatedly popped up saying the TwLauncher closed unexpectedly. Then I tried using ODIN and installing BH_Man's factory v1.6

I used the adb commands to delete the bloatware again. Restarted the phone and got the same problem. (Except I was stuck on the android screen.) I tried to install the factory v1.6 again, then immediately did a factory restore and then rebooted my screen once it loaded. Everything seemed okay. I uninstalled the stock games and rebooted again. It seemed to be working. When I uninstalled more apps (including CubeLauncher) and restarted the phone. What do I do? Did I uninstall something I am not supposed to? I think I might try installing the 1.6 No Twiz Kernel. I am sick of these "TwLauncher closed unexpectedly" messages.
I can root a g1 with ease but I sort of got into trouble with the behold. This might sound stupid but do I need to root the phone before I install the port galaxy 1.6? I just did this.
1. download odin here Odin Multi Downloader v4.03.exe
2. download any Of BH_MAN ODIN Ready Rom's
3. download winrar ( google it) to extract the BH_MAN zip file.
4. follow these instruction

3. Click the OPS button and choose Behold2_partition.ops
4. Click the PDA button and choose the md5 file, You will get error message" invalid image...," but ignore it.

I've rooted my Desire on o2 have version 0.80 of the boot loader. I applied the defrost rom version 2.7 following this guide. Droid Den - Phone Guide: How To Install Rooted Android 2.2 On Your HTC Desire - Droid Den. It went through applying the ROM but now I just have it stuck on the o2 splash screen and going no further. Can't seem to find a backup.zip anywhere on my ROM and thought to back out the change. What's the best way to go? Re-flash again?

View 3 Replies View RelatedEveryone knows that At&t is probably the worst major carrier in the US to be on if you want an Android device. So there has to be a reason you are praying Samsung announces the issues with the Captivate are fixable, or you would have jumped ship by now to have dozens of choices at the other carriers. For me, my wife just got her first ever iPhone and she refuses to try anything else. She's a big fan of the "Sims" type of games and Android doesn't have many of those games in the Market yet. It doesn't make sense money wise to have us on different carriers. So I'm stuck with At&t and a Captivate that I wish could perfrom to it's potential. Anybody else in a similar situation? Maybe it's spouses, kids, or even work related?

In the Android settings I have it set for a 30 second timeout, but for some reason my screen will fade brightness, but never go off completely.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a non-rooted EVO with all the latest updates and lately it will randomly go into a reboot loop. The only way I've been able to stop this loop is immediately put it in airplane mode, that is when it gets as far as the main screen. Usually it doesn't even get to the 4G animation before crashing again. Is there a fix for this? Or is this a hardware issue? I have not done a hard reset yet or anything.
