Is there a widget or shortcut that would bring up the phone options dialog that is seen when you long press the end/power button? That would solve some of the misery of not being able to easily switch the 3G on/off without using Sense and the HTC Mobile widget.

Before I rooted, when I plugged in my Eris to the computer the screen popping up which had my choose either charge only, disk drive, or HTC sync would pop up, however after I rooted that screen doesn't pop up, nor is it in the notification bar. The debugging mode notification still pops up though.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Evil Eris 2.0.1, and about 20 mins ago I plugged in my phone and it says debugging is enabled, but the USB options screen, with mount, charge, etc. didn't appear. What I was doing was trying to get the eclair lock screen, so I had installed the .zip through the restore screen. When I rebooted, I could no longer see the screen. I tried removing startup manager, which people said caused problems, but still it didn't work. I restored to a nandroid backup from before the lock screen change and that didn't work. I'm restored to an earlier backup when I knew everything worked and when I boot, debugging comes up but the usb options do not.

I tried the (Google ?) keyboard available from the market (AnySoftKeyboard) but didn't like it.
Does anyone know of a relatively easy way to change the font of the Android OS? Right now I'm using WW and tried Googling it but couldn't find anything i could make sense of other than a tutorial written in very bad English.

When it said "device not found" I tried to sync it only to find out that now I have no options to sync or mount. When plugged in by usb I get nothing in the notification bar at all. It will charge but now I can't even mount my phone

I still wanted SMS and Email to come in, but I wanted those to be silent.I realize I can dive down into Menu > Setting and do it manually, but I'm looking for something simpler like an app or widget.I could turn off Mobile Network via a widget, but like I said above, I still want SMS and Email to come in, just not make a sound.Any ideas?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried to delete all my text messages by going to manage applications, force stop on it and clear data. It didn't delete my messages but now the options to set a specific notification sound for text messages is grayed out.
1. How do I delete ALL text messages from ALL contacts?
2. How do I un-grey the notification sound options?
I used to really love the Latitude interface, when I clicked on a friend in Latitude, I got a screen with many options, including Navigate to, send text, etc.
One really cool feature on this screen was "what's nearby" which showed stores etc. that were near my friend.
Also, the background was black and the text was white.
NOW (after the last update): I lost the "what's nearby" feature AND the background is white and the text is black.
What can I do? Is there a way to revert maps to the older release?
Is there a way to keep the screen on while using the phone? Whenever I make or answer a call, during the conversation the screen goes dark. Sometimes I need to put the phone on mute or speakerphone but I'm afraid I'll disconnect the call pushing either of the hard buttons. Touching the screen doesn't seem to do anything.

I thought this might be a fluke so I powered it off and back on and it still came up black. The lock screen will show, but when I unlock the screen, it was showing nothing but black. I was using Lock 2.0 for lock screen and helix for my home. Finally, we were able to get it back working, but I can't for the life of me tell you what we did to get it working again. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone know what could have caused it and how to prevent it in the future?

It goes from the "skateboarder droid" to the Verizon startup then to the HTC logo and keeps replaying that sequence. I've tried holding the volume down and power buttons at the same time and then went to "recovery" but once it gets to the Triangle-Exclamation-Point icon, I don't know what to do. I've also tried to mount it to my Mac via USB and had no luck at all.

And after 5-10 minutes, the screen goes to black.Sometimes, I want to turn off speaker phone or use phone to look up some numbers.However, pressing call button or track ball won't wake up the screen. Downloaded updates for Google Maps and Facebook. I shut my phone off,and now it just hangs at the boot screen. I have tried booting up in recovery mode. View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I got my Eris on Wednesday and dropped it today and did I mess it up. It feel from about waste level, I'm 5'8 so it wasn't that high. I even slid my foot out to stop a direct hit to the ground which was successful. However this didn't help at all. The entire screen shattered but the phone still works. I know I should have a case for it but in the 9 years of having a cell phone this is the first one I dropped one. I was planning on getting one but haven't had the time to go out and get one yet.
Anyways I though the Eris had the gorilla glass that was basically unbreakable. It doesn't seem like a fall from waste hight, slowed down by my foot, onto the linoleum floor at the food store would destroy the screen. The cracks start at the corner and spider web through the whole screen. Everything I've read about people dropping the phone said it never broke. I am wondering if the screen might actually be defective, probably not but I'm grasping at straws to avoid the insurance deductible. Good thing I have insurance on the phone.
I have the 2.1 leak, so I can't root....yet. I was wondering if, as root, the HTCLockScreen.apk could be removed. If it could be removed, would the stock android lock screen take over?

i cannot for the life of me get it back. verizon says it was lost after the upgrade. i put the "people" icon on my now when i need to call a friend who is on my "favorite" list, i hit that icon, it brings me to all contacts and at the bottom i then have to depress favorites which brings up groups, then hit favorites. like 4 steps to make a phone call?
anybody figure out how to get the favorite icon back on the phone screen?
