I've gone into messaging settings and set vibrate to on and it is not vibrating on incoming messages. The phone vibrates on incoming calls so the actual vibrating mechanism works. Any ideas on what could be going wrong?

I'm wondering if it's possible to block my phone from receiving incoming texts through VZW. I'm using GV for texting and want to completely drop my texting plan but also don't want to get hit with loads of texts coming to the wrong number. Is there just a way to prevent incoming texts altogether?
Obviously, I plan to send out a couple of "notices" of the change of number BUT you know how some people are...they just won't change the number and forget by the next time they try to text me...LOL (well sort of!) I don't want to pay per text. That could get expensive FAST!
I despise any form of audible notification on phones and so generally have it on vibrate for 99% of the time. However, I find the Incredible's vibrate notification for text messages a joke: two quick spurts and no recurring vibrating. Is there any way to perhaps change the text notification to be like a phone call (instead just be two bursts of it) and even make it recurring? Stock options are unbelievably bare and I haven't found any apps that change the vibrate profile.

Now heres a new problem that I notice! The vibrate for the incoming phone doesnt work It worked last time a install the exact same thing. but now it's like total silence when i put my phone on vibrate.
My MMS txts are not working when I send them but I can receive them just fine. It doesn't even give a failure notice, they send off my phone just fine, the the other person never receives them. They used to send just fine, this just started a few days ago.
I use Hand Cent as my default messenger, but I've tried sending them from both applications and neither of them are working.....any ideas?
I can't get this bastard to vibrate, I even downloaded a vibrator for the "ladies" but to no avail whatsoever. Anyone had the same issue?

I do get vibrate, but no sound. Rings don't work with standard system ringtones, my music, ringdroid ringtones. All I get is vibrate.On the other hand, notification tones are working perfectly fine (from anywhere).

The software is all up to date, ive reset the alert tone in the notification settings, and im afraid thats all my knowledge used up. Ringtone sound is fine and it also vibrates for that.

-Phone vibrate is checked in 'Sound & display settings' for Android.
-Vibrate is checked to always in Handcent.
-Tried multiple vibrate patterns in both normal mode and vibrate mode.
-Tried multiple vibrate patterns for vibrate 'Only when device is set to vibrate mode' (option in handcent) while having the device in vibrate mode.
-Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Handcent.
Phone vibrates normally for all other applications.
