View 5 RepliesMy phone doesn't vibrate anymore whenever I receive a text. It is set up to vibrate, but still nothing. I thought it was a problem with Handcent app, but I removed that app, and was still not vibrating.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I know how to use electronics, I know how to read manuals, I know how to work settings, etc. I'm not a beginner. However I do need help. My phone doesn't ring audibly. I do get vibrate, but no sound. Rings don't work with standard system ringtones, my music, ringdroid ringtones. All I get is vibrate. On the other hand, notification tones are working perfectly fine (from anywhere).
View 15 Replies View Relatedwhen my phone is on vibrate, and i revieve a text, my phone lights up but it dosent vibrate and also, sometimes when i recieve a text it dosent go to the bottom of my text messaging list, it goes in the middle, so when i recieve a message, i have to look through all my messages to see which one i just recieved. i've noticed that the time stamp is incorrect on the messages sometimes, which my be the reason.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've gone into messaging settings and set vibrate to on and it is not vibrating on incoming messages. The phone vibrates on incoming calls so the actual vibrating mechanism works. Any ideas on what could be going wrong?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen i receive a text message the phone doesnt sound an alert or vibrate, really annoying having to keep checking the phone to see if i have any messages. The software is all up to date, ive reset the alert tone in the notification settings, and im afraid thats all my knowledge used up. Ringtone sound is fine and it also vibrates for that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a 2 hour drive yesterday, and I guess it pulled the weather update about an hour into my drive for the current location. Well it still thinks I'm there, even today, and even after I restarted the phone. I also have gone to menu > update, but it just updates the weather, not the location. GPS is also turned on. This is not the first time it has done this, and there is no possible way I'm anywhere near that city for it to be confused...
Anyone else have this problem? Solutions?
I have noticed that the green 'online' status indicator in Talk doesn't update on my phone when someone signs off, it stays green for them. They show as offline on my PC but continue to show online on the Droid. If I sign out and back in to Talk on the phone it will update their status, but otherwise not. I've tried closing chat but that doesn't seem to work, I don't see anything in settings that would affect it either. Any ideas?
I'm the only one using Android, my other contacts are all using Talk online (not with a phone) if that makes a difference.
I want you guys to test the new email notifications when the device is connected through WiFi.
For this you've to set the WiFi sleep policy to never and the Background and Auto sync option needs to be checked.
Well, I don't get any notifications. I went an extra mile ahead and pinged the IP address and found that I get "request timed out" error when device is locked and when it is unlocked, the packets are received properly.
All I want to do is create a simple "vibrate" profile that turns phone calls and text messages to vibrate. I have the call part but the messages just come in silently with no vibrate. I have the following in the task:
1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate
So, when i put my phone on a Vibrate (using the volume buttons on the side) it just puts it in Silent Mode, but with a vibration icon. it doesn't vibrate for anything. granted it doesn't make a noise so that's not all bad, but it just sits there and flashes its little light...
Cause i mean it is the easiest way for me to just pop it into vibrate mode, but the vibrate doesn't work, and i don't want it completely silent, as i do still want to know when i get something.
I have everthing on my phone set to vibrate and it won't vibrate. My keyboard doesn't vibrate and I have the settings for it to vibrate on.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a rooted N1 off of ebay. I plugged my SIM in and everything worked fine all day yesterday. I went to sleep on my bed, with the N1 in my pocket, and when I woke up the phone was indicating that there was no SIM card in the phone. I rebooted the phone, and factory reset it, yet it still indicated that there was no SIM inside the phone. I put my SIM card in my wife's iPhone and the phone worked fine.
1) Could sleeping with it in my pocket have done this?
2) Did I just buy a dud off of Ebay? And if so, how is this possible because it worked all day yesterday?
When I get a notification, like an email or text, I want the phone to vibrate for like 15 seconds in like pulses of 3. It will vibrate a fair amount if the volume is on, but when I put the phone to vibrate only, the ONLY thing that vibrates is the ringer. I find this to be a general annoyance with Android I think. Anyone know a way I can customize the vibration settings for notifications (text, email, etc) when the phone is on silent (vibrate only)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI put my phone on vibrate and everything seems to be working fine except for some parts..when i get a text my vibrate doesn't work [i'm using chompsms] but when i'm on the phone and i get a text my phone ivbrates or when i set the keyboard to vibrate it doesn't work or i get mail notifications of mail or from fb it doesn't work but other than that all the vibrates seem to be working fine. can anyone help me? i was wondering if i could just press the factory reset on my phone to see if that would work but i'm rooted.. would that effect anything? like if i were to do that, would it brick my phone since its rooted? i was going to unroot it and bring it in to sprint but i heard that there were some issues when people tried flashing back so i don't know if i want to do that..

I can't get adb to see my Nexus on XP-64.That is, when I run "adb devices" it lists only the open emulators and not the Nexus. Likewise, Eclipse does not show the Nexus as an available deployment target.Yes, I have the latest USB driver for Nexus. The driver appears to have installed correctly. The device manager shows "Android phone Composite Android Interface", as expected. And yes, USB debugging is turned on on the Nexus. My Windows 7 Netbook does not have this problem but I need to use the XP-64 system for development.

It went off for monday and ever since then, I just woke up late for my classes because it doesn't go off. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if there is a fix for it? I mean the right alarm time even shows up when I hit the lock screen but it doesn't actually go off
View 24 Replies View RelatedI live in the UK and have ordered my Nexus One from the US, without a UK adapter. My question is what voltage the standard AC adapter uses, as the UK runs 240V typically. I can get hold of a cheap US-UK power adapter that doesn't do any voltage changes, so I was wondering whether that would be sufficient. Does anyone have any experience with this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying out both the Galaxy S3 and the LG Nexus 4 on AT&T.
When I was using the S3, I just inserted my SIM card and I was good to go. I like to use the Speedtest app when I'm out and about to see what speeds I'm getting, and the app worked just fine on the S3.
Last week, I got the LG Nexus 4 and inserted the SIM card and was also up and running. However, the Speedtest app does not work out in the field. It works just fine on my WiFi network but, when I try it outside, it just gives a large ping number and then does nothing. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Speedtest app, but still nothing.
I've been using the stock browser and it's been playing flash content fine. I just installed Dolphin HD browser but for some reason it's not loading any flash content on any site. Anyone have any ideas why not? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooting as well. I'm out of ideas. The stock browser still works though. I'm on FRF91, non-rooted.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with my phone's bluetooth. Pairing is successful, but sending any sized file fails instantly. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, but the first time i tried it, it was successful - at least partially. I was half way through sending a 250MB file to the phone when it got interrupted (can't remember how, i might have accidentally disabled bt part way through). Since then, all attempts fail sending to, and from phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo, my issue is that I simply cannot unlock the bootloader of my Nexus S (i9020T). The phone's connecting to my computer via Samsung Android ADB Interface as seen under the Device Manager. I see the proper device ID when I type "fastboot devices" into the adb command prompt. Then, when I type "fastboot oem unlock" the phone starts the unlock verification process -- I select yes, the phone restarts, but it goes back to the stuck Google screen. Then, if I pull the battery and go into fastboot mode directly, bootloader's still locked. I've tried this quite a few times and same result -- same result trying to unlock w/ toolkits like WugFresh's NRT.
I've also tried to solve it w/ all versions of Odin. None of them detect my phone even after installing Kies w/ drivers. I think I have the required drivers though since I can command the phone fine through adb. And Odin should need bootloader unlocked to work anyway so it won't work if bootloader cannot unlock.... I've even tried a few other things like pushing recovery and bootloader images onto the phone via adb, but these also failed due to the locked bootloader. All options seem to require an unlocked bootloader.
I also cannot enable USB debugging under phone settings either b/c I now can't get past the Google logo/fastboot mode menu. I don't think this is required to unlock bootloader through adb though.
Background: Phone had the latest auto updated version of Android when the phone all of a sudden turned off in the middle of the night recently. Weird b/c the battery was basically full. It now always gets stuck on the Google logo upon normal restart. It goes into fastboot mode OK if I remove the battery and press power/vol. buttons -- I then first tried the restore and recovery functions there, etc, but no effect.
To add, one of the first things I tried was to do a manual factory data reset in the recovery menu (selecting 'yes' to erase all data).
And I tried adb sideload of the OTA .zip file. But installation was aborted. The following appeared immediately under the regular adb sideload instruction in the system recovery menu (under "Now send the package you want to apply to the device..."):
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
file_getprop: failed to stat "/system/build.prop": No such file or directory
Installation aborted.
