How do you stop incoming texts from going into the notifications bar at top of the screen? If i turn it off then there is not audio alert? I hate clearing the the notifications every time i get a text.

Is this possible for the Incredible? Who wants to install the apk first? Apparently the black uses no power when the screen is on. This guy designed notifications via the screen rather than the LED light.

when ever i get a text or call the blue lock screen pops up and STAYS like that unless i dismiss the screen or look at the text, how do i make it like idle or dim? When posting your question it is highly recommend to specify your:

I've gone into messaging settings and set vibrate to on and it is not vibrating on incoming messages. The phone vibrates on incoming calls so the actual vibrating mechanism works. Any ideas on what could be going wrong?

I'm using GV for texting and want to completely drop my texting plan but also don't want to get hit with loads of texts coming to the wrong number. When I get incoming calls, my screen locks and says to push the button to access functionality or whatever. How can I stop this. I noticed that someone else had this same thing happen when they were listening to music. I am not listening to music.
I do notice that it happens when my Bluetooth is on but the screen locks and won't allow me to depress the headset button and it doesn't respond to ANY button...Thus lost calls..

I am going to be using the ustream broadcaster app over 3g to stream a concert this weekend.
I do not want the app to be interrupted by anything while im using it.. no phone calls, no txt and no notifications. As it is now if a phone call comes through it will interrupt the app to take the call. If I decline the call the stream will not restart by itself. I know i can turn off different apps notifications but how can I go about not letting phone calls or txts through?
I cant just put it into airplane mode since i need 3g and im a little lost on what options I would have.

My only complaint about the Droid is the seeming lack of options for notifications.
Is there a way, or an app, that would allow you to assign different notifications to emails vs texts vs missed calls?
Also, does anyone know if there's a way to set the phone to re-notify you periodically if you have a notification that has not been looked at? I tend to leave my phone sitting on my desk at work and would like it to let me know if I missed a call or text while I was away from my desk.
Ideally I'd like to silence email notifications, but have text and missed call notifications with unique ring tones for each, and I'd like the phone to renotify me every 10 minutes or so if I have a text or missed call waiting for me.
I originally was using the preinstalled mail client on my phone. I then decided to try the gmail specific mail client. Due to that, I receive double notifications when I get a new email. Any ideas?

A few days back I downloaded the Handcent SMS app. I am happy with the app. But I was receiving notifications both from my native app and Handcent SMS. In order to stop the notification I used Advanced Task Manager to remove the native SMS app in the name of 'SMS' instead of the disabling the notification. Instead of removing the messaging service my data usage notification SMS from my service provider has stopped. I am receiving other messages and able to send messages. I have flashed my ROM but the 'SMS' app is still not installed.

As a Verizon customer I loved being able to send and receive 7 page texts to and from other Verizon customers. I recently upgraded to an Eris from that horribly lousy Alias and noticed that when the same Verizon people send me multiple page texts, the Eris splits the texts up. I'm fine with it doing this, but the thing that really bothers me is every time I get a multiple page text from a Verizon user it also sends me (and the person sending the text) a notification saying the text had special formatting removed or something to that extent. Some people I talk to tend to send texts that are 2 or more pages every time and the constant notification can get really irritating. Is there an app or a workaround to prevent this?

Up until today, whenever I got a text message it notified me through Google Voice app on my phone.The same thing with voicemails.But what happened today is that it isn't notifying me for some reason.To actually "receive" the text messages and voicemails through Voice, I have to go into Google Voice app and hit "refresh".Under "sync and notifications" for settings in Voice, I have "synchronize inbox" checked as well as "inbox notifications" so that I'm notified in the status bar when new items arrive.And like I said, up until today it was working flawlessly, but now I have to hit "refresh" to receive them in Voice.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen the INC is sleeping I can feel the vibrate or hear the notification sound, however, it won't wake up or let me know that I have something waiting for me just by glancing at it from a distance if it's sleeping. This isn't an issue if I am in a quiet environment, but otherwise it is. I have checked all the settings and there doesn't seem to be a way to make this happen.
