So I know how to use electronics, I know how to read manuals, I know how to work settings, etc. I'm not a beginner. However I do need help. My phone doesn't ring audibly. I do get vibrate, but no sound. Rings don't work with standard system ringtones, my music, ringdroid ringtones. All I get is vibrate.On the other hand, notification tones are working perfectly fine (from anywhere).

I'm new to Droid and the interface but am hoping I'm just missing something obvious. How do I make my DroidX vibrate for text messages but, at the same time, ring for calls? At work, I want to know about calls but texts can typically wait.

I use profile and find it a little too in depth. I want something simple. I also think there may be a gremlin or two as I have found my settings changed without my doing anything.

So my deal is, I want to be able to have my phone do everything and vibrate when it's in "vibrate mode" but when I have it set to ringer of any sort, I don't want it to vibrate at all, even during my texts. What can I change to let this work? Right now, I have selected "vibrate also for notifications of SMS." where it'll ring and vibrate. I just want it to ring during "ring mode" and vibrate only during "vibrate mode"

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo, when i put my phone on a Vibrate (using the volume buttons on the side) it just puts it in Silent Mode, but with a vibration icon. it doesn't vibrate for anything. granted it doesn't make a noise so that's not all bad, but it just sits there and flashes its little light...
Cause i mean it is the easiest way for me to just pop it into vibrate mode, but the vibrate doesn't work, and i don't want it completely silent, as i do still want to know when i get something.
Ever since 2.1 my phone doesn't vibrate for SMS/MMS. I use the native messenger and I have notifications on and vibrate on, but it only vibrates for calls when in vibrate mode.

The software is all up to date, ive reset the alert tone in the notification settings, and im afraid thats all my knowledge used up. Ringtone sound is fine and it also vibrates for that.

I have "MINI INFO WIDGET" and when I go in there to adjust the volume to vibrate it will work but then when I try to go back to Sound Profile I have to manually adjust the sound again?
