Ever since 2.1 my phone doesn't vibrate for SMS/MMS. I use the native messenger and I have notifications on and vibrate on, but it only vibrates for calls when in vibrate mode.

So I know how to use electronics, I know how to read manuals, I know how to work settings, etc. I'm not a beginner. However I do need help. My phone doesn't ring audibly. I do get vibrate, but no sound. Rings don't work with standard system ringtones, my music, ringdroid ringtones. All I get is vibrate.On the other hand, notification tones are working perfectly fine (from anywhere).

The main thing that is currently annoying me with it is that when I am on a call, it still vibrates when I receive a text message. I like that it vibrates when I receive texts just not while I'm on the phone. How do I change this 'Phone Only' preference? 1.5 always just had a little beep or sound for the notifier never vibrated?
View 5 Replies View RelatedNow that I've updated to 2.1, most of the apps (weather and time apps) no longer work correctly.I live in Panama City Beach but these apps continue to tell me I am slightly north of Tallahassee over 100 miles away and in a different time zone. Stays the same regardless of GPS on or off,I have deleted and re-installed all of the offending programs and that didn't help either.Everything was great prior to the update.

View 5 Replies View Relatedwhen my phone is on vibrate, and i revieve a text, my phone lights up but it dosent vibrate and also, sometimes when i recieve a text it dosent go to the bottom of my text messaging list, it goes in the middle, so when i recieve a message, i have to look through all my messages to see which one i just recieved. i've noticed that the time stamp is incorrect on the messages sometimes, which my be the reason.

View 16 Replies View RelatedIf you set something, let's say messages, to vibrate, it vibrates even when the phone isn't in vibrate mode. In other words, in normal mode - you'll get an audible alert and vibrate. If you turn off vibrate for messaging, then switch the phone profile to vibrate, the phone doesn't vibrate for messages. So it seems like it's all or none - vibrate always on, or always off. Is this what others have found? I tried installing Quick Profiles and creating profiles but the behavior is the same. Is there an app that has more granular control and can actually control vibrate?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, when i put my phone on a Vibrate (using the volume buttons on the side) it just puts it in Silent Mode, but with a vibration icon. it doesn't vibrate for anything. granted it doesn't make a noise so that's not all bad, but it just sits there and flashes its little light...
Cause i mean it is the easiest way for me to just pop it into vibrate mode, but the vibrate doesn't work, and i don't want it completely silent, as i do still want to know when i get something.
When i receive a text message the phone doesnt sound an alert or vibrate, really annoying having to keep checking the phone to see if i have any messages. The software is all up to date, ive reset the alert tone in the notification settings, and im afraid thats all my knowledge used up. Ringtone sound is fine and it also vibrates for that.

I get so few that it would be better for me to be able to simply do a "manual" check when I want, rather than have the phone check all the time. I went ahead and downloaded the Calendar Pad for Android and it is really great. It went and synched with the Calendar app native to the device, which is find because i really like the UI.
But I need a separate calendar app for my work stuff. I don't want them on the same calendar (way too crowded).
Anyone know of an app that just "keeps to itself"? I searched and I couldn't find one.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter the Touchdown update I can't get any of my notifications to vibrate for either email or SMS. The phone will still vibrate. I emailed Touchdown and they said that they have heard some things about the vibrate issue but have not been able to duplicate the problems, he recommended a reboot which after two times has not done anything to help the situation. I have to have the vibrate settings for work so I'm screwed without them.

Usually whenever I go to school, I would put my Droid in silent mode and then when done I put it into vibrate mode. Now with the update it seems that I cannot do this. Here are the options that I want. What must I do to get them:
Vibrate mode: Vibrate for incoming calls, texts, emails, etc.
Silent mode: No vibration or sound for anything at all.
All I want to do is create a simple "vibrate" profile that turns phone calls and text messages to vibrate. I have the call part but the messages just come in silently with no vibrate. I have the following in the task:
1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate
So for my Eris i flashed the new kayos v38 rom and add the conap cfs v8 for the camera and battery drain fix.
Now heres a new problem that I notice! The vibrate for the incoming phone doesnt work It worked last time a install the exact same thing. but now it's like total silence when i put my phone on vibrate.
So, in 1.5 there were all these complaints (from me, too) that the vibrate on the Eris is useless. But with 2.1, I can definitely feel a difference. Well, I can feel it at all, which is a huge difference. So kudos to HTC for seeing a problem and fixing it. Could be stronger, but still, much much better.

Before my eris would play the notification sound within a second of the vibration. Now, my phone lags for about 2 or 3 seconds, vibrating first, then ringing. use the native SMS program, and I don't want to have to download any new apps like chompSMS or anything, I just want my phone to start working again.
