so I am having MAJOR problems with my (now 5th) replacement HTC Eris. I just can't seem to part with it though because I do like it.I remember when I first got the phone, it would ring about 5 times on the callers end before it rang on mine. I found some number that I called to fix that.

I've noticed that my phone takes a bit to ring (about 3-4 rings on the other end) till it actually reaches my Eris. I tested it at work and called my phone from my work line and it took about 4 rings until my Eris started to actually ring. Is this normal or do I have an issue?
View 23 Replies View RelatedI have 2.1 OTA, but I noticed camera lag with 1.5 as well. I'm guessing everyone else has this problem too. Is there any fix anyone has found? I've made sure not a lot of apps are running when i go use the camera app, but it still takes 4 seconds or so for the camera to take a picture after I press the trackball.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen using position based apps on my new Desire (Android 2.1) I can't help but notice that finding the location always takes forever (>1 minute after switching GPS on).My old HTC HD (Windows Mobile 6.1) was much quicker in providing a location after switching on GPS. The trick was, that the HTC HD had a pre-installed application "QuickGPS" that regularly downloaded some data that apparently helped in locating the satellites and/or calculating the position. On my old device I thus had a valid position typically in less than 10 seconds after switching GPS on.I haven't found any similar utility for Android and I don't want to have GPS active all the time for battery reasons. Are there any similar tools or other "tricks" that can help the GPS subsystem to provide the location quicker?

View 3 Replies View RelatedEveryday this phone gets slower and slower...and it takes longer and longer for me to text someone..not only do i send them gibberish cause the phone lags SO BAD...it sends them so many texts of the same thing. i cant do a darn thing with this. I'm about to throw it. nothing i seem to do is making this thing run faster less leggy.
View 42 Replies View Relatedso we just got the Eris for my gf (I have a rooted droid) and she's loving the phone, but is def a BIG adjustment from the blackberry. The biggest problem that we are having is that the phone will not ring until about the 3rd or 4th ringtone, which by the 6th or so, it goes to VM anyways.... so If I call her (or anyone) I'll hear the calling tone from my end, and on the 4th one or so, finally her phone will ring, but you have about 5 seconds then it goes to voice mail... can anyone help me with this? if it matters, I do have google voice setup with gvoice as the stock vmail... I don't remember if it was doing that before this

I use profile and find it a little too in depth. I want something simple. I also think there may be a gremlin or two as I have found my settings changed without my doing anything.

I don't know if anyone had this issue, but it takes roughly an hour and a half to get 20% of my battery to charge, on the other hand I lose 50% of the battery life in One Hour. Is my battery Done? or is this a 2.1 v3 Leak? I've shut the phone of completely, and charged the phone. It still takes several hours to recharge. Anybody having this bad of battery with the Leak?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Eris has been a good phone for me except the mentioned issues. The fix the worked for me was to remove the appollo software task manager. It kept closing something I xouldnt see and caused me issue. I went from 5 resets a day to 5 days and no reset. I now use task manager 1.11.9 with 0 issues.

I find when you touch the screen in the camera it auto-focuses and "occasionally" takes a picture. Is there some trick to this? I can't seem to figure out how to take a picture every time I touch the screen. Any ideas?

The main problem is it takes roughly 3 hours from the time the person left the voicemail until I receive it on my phone. That's just way too long. And I'm not talking just the transcription, I mean even getting the voicemail. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it a Sprint problem, a Hero problem, or a Google Voice problem?

I don't even have the vibe turned on, but still it vibes, and does NOT ring. I'd like the vibe & ring (both) option. I do get vibrate, but no sound. Rings don't work with standard system ringtones, my music, ringdroid ringtones.
