I have 2.1 OTA, but I noticed camera lag with 1.5 as well. I'm guessing everyone else has this problem too. Is there any fix anyone has found? I've made sure not a lot of apps are running when i go use the camera app, but it still takes 4 seconds or so for the camera to take a picture after I press the trackball.

so I am having MAJOR problems with my (now 5th) replacement HTC Eris. I just can't seem to part with it though because I do like it.I remember when I first got the phone, it would ring about 5 times on the callers end before it rang on mine. I found some number that I called to fix that.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am currently on my second Eris and I am having problems with my trackball not responding and something screwy with my camera not saving my pictures.
Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.
Since the 2.1, you can't zoom with the trackball - miss that and it also doesn't seem to zoom as well. My husband hasn't changed to the 2.1 and we can take the same picture but he gets closer with his zoom. Is there any setting that would improve this on the camera with 2.1?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen using position based apps on my new Desire (Android 2.1) I can't help but notice that finding the location always takes forever (>1 minute after switching GPS on).My old HTC HD (Windows Mobile 6.1) was much quicker in providing a location after switching on GPS. The trick was, that the HTC HD had a pre-installed application "QuickGPS" that regularly downloaded some data that apparently helped in locating the satellites and/or calculating the position. On my old device I thus had a valid position typically in less than 10 seconds after switching GPS on.I haven't found any similar utility for Android and I don't want to have GPS active all the time for battery reasons. Are there any similar tools or other "tricks" that can help the GPS subsystem to provide the location quicker?

When browsing certain web page with CGI form, browser doesnt respond to trackball click event unless we play around the UI ormove cursor around or switch between application. However, tocuh screen works all the time. I can't give an example of problem making web site yet. Just wodering is it an isolated case to me.

2. When someone calls me, they hear the tone (idk the proper name) for 3 times, and only then my phone starts ringing. How can i make it so that my phone will respond quicker to calls?
I've noticed that my phone takes a bit to ring (about 3-4 rings on the other end) till it actually reaches my Eris. I tested it at work and called my phone from my work line and it took about 4 rings until my Eris started to actually ring. Is this normal or do I have an issue?
View 23 Replies View RelatedI don't know if anyone had this issue, but it takes roughly an hour and a half to get 20% of my battery to charge, on the other hand I lose 50% of the battery life in One Hour. Is my battery Done? or is this a 2.1 v3 Leak? I've shut the phone of completely, and charged the phone. It still takes several hours to recharge. Anybody having this bad of battery with the Leak?

This one has it as well, but now this one has the continuously scrolling left trackball even while not plugged in, making the phone unusable. I have an Incredible ordered, but until that arrives whenever it decides to, I'm stuck using an old LG Chocolate. Any ideas on this? I have had nothing but bad luck with my replacements. Almost wish I could have the original one back, which only had silent speaker intermittently.

I know not everyone here is a member at xda, so I figured that at least a few people on here have eris's that they are willing to void their warrenty on (even more than they alread have with leaks and rooting )This isn't with an LED, it is the actual trackball. Seems pretty easy, anyway, thought I'd share.
I am so confused on notifications. This is what I see happening by default.
SMS/MMS - Trackball
Exchange Email - Trackball
Gmail - Green LED
Google Talk - Green LED
Missed Call - Green LED
In my Settings --> Sound & Display --> Notifications --> Notification flash ... everything is checked for Trackball.
I'm curious is to how this is working for everyone else. I wish the trackball would only light up for SMS/MMS.
My trackball is going nuts. It skipping around mainly to the bottom of whatever I'm doing. It's getting very annoying. Any suggestions? Should I use my insurance for somethibg like this.
