Before eris, i had a bb 8330 curve. now, i love my eris, but i hate the vibrate/silent thing. i'd like to be able to set things up the way i had them on my curve with the profiles...sms/mms buzz once, phone calls buzz 3 times, or some things silent others buzz, etc. and no, i dont capitalize. deal with it, grammar-nazis, i iz lernt gud.

I have a ringtone set for all call but when the call comes in it wil start to ring then go silent or very very quite i have tried the defualt ringer as well and same result? I have the ringer set to the highest it can go and still seems quite.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe Eris has been a good phone for me except the mentioned issues. The fix the worked for me was to remove the appollo software task manager. It kept closing something I xouldnt see and caused me issue. I went from 5 resets a day to 5 days and no reset. I now use task manager 1.11.9 with 0 issues.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust noticed this this morning (don't think it's happened before).. this is my second evo (0003 buld), had it for a few days.This morning (after having gone to bed last night and putting it on silent), i got a text and my phone started going off.Set it back to silent, and a few minutes later, it went off again after getting another text.Changed it to silent again and literally sat and watched the phone (w/ screen on) and watched it change back to "normal" on its own.Tried the same thing w/ vibe and after about 30-40 seconds it went back to normal on its own.I already did a hard reset/wipe and its still doing the same thing. I have nothing off the wall installed (that I didnt have on my 0002 device, and it wasnt doing this).
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm loving my EVO so far and am already starting to adjust to the touchscreen after many years of physical-keyboard Blackberries.Things are looking good.I have one question though.One feature I absolutely lived by on my BB was to hold down "Q" to toggle between silent and vibe all.Those were the only two profiles I ever used.I'm sure there is a very simple answer to my question, but I can't seem to find it on my own yet. I currently have my phone set to vibrate (menu>settings>sound & display>sound profiles), but emails, texts, and gchats aren't vibrating when they arrive.I bought Quick Profiles and put the widget on my home screen. I made silent and vibrate profiles, but I don't see where I can customize what vibrates and what doesn't other than the phone ringer.Anyway, with the phone profile on vibrate and the Quick Profile profile on vibrate, I'm still not vibrating.

I use profile and find it a little too in depth. I want something simple. I also think there may be a gremlin or two as I have found my settings changed without my doing anything.

Right away the phone was ready for the 2.1 OTA update. I updated, and so far so good, no silent bug issues, and the phone seems to be operating with no issues so far.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI talked with a VZW tech just a few minutes ago.I described her the silent bug problem on 2.1.She said she is a Droid user and her daughter has an Eris.She said she had frequent freezeup on her Droid and now she reccomends to do one reboot every day. She says she had not had a problem since she has been doing this.She made a mark on my file about my complain and recommended to try the once-a-day reboot for a week. If the problem persists, the store will issue a new phone.I will try this reboot thing each night, will see how it goes.I am a bit worried about the exchange they perhaps would give me a refurb, and what is the guarantie that I won't end up with the same problem.

View 5 Replies View Relatedso we just got the Eris for my gf (I have a rooted droid) and she's loving the phone, but is def a BIG adjustment from the blackberry. The biggest problem that we are having is that the phone will not ring until about the 3rd or 4th ringtone, which by the 6th or so, it goes to VM anyways.... so If I call her (or anyone) I'll hear the calling tone from my end, and on the 4th one or so, finally her phone will ring, but you have about 5 seconds then it goes to voice mail... can anyone help me with this? if it matters, I do have google voice setup with gvoice as the stock vmail... I don't remember if it was doing that before this

View 23 Replies View Relatedmy droid vibes all the time when the screen times out 1-3vibes and some times when it is been sleeping for a bit it gives a short little vibe all by its self or when sleeping and you tuch the screen you get a short vibe some times then when you are in the home screens and you tap where there is not a icon/widget it gives a strong vibe.it vibrates when sliding to unlock 3 little studders it does 3 or more short vibrates when exiting out of any app or using the back,home,or menu.
