Buyed a samsung galaxy s a couple days ago
and had no peoblems woth it except today
noticed then when somebody calls me rhe
phone rings quietly at first and then rongs
normal, the sound gradualy increases from small
volume to gighter , how can i .make it ring loudly
from the start ?

I miss my Blackberry choices for notification, in particular, phone only. A quick one press button for ring, vibrate, ring phone only, silent. I use profile and find it a little too in depth. I want something simple. I also think there may be a gremlin or two as I have found my settings changed without my doing anything.

Doesn't help much when I am at home and can't find my phone. Is there an app to find my phone using my PC? Like, send an email? Or maybe there is an app for my PC that sends an SMS? I can't find that either.
View 13 Replies View RelatedMy desire will not always ring the sms ring notifier when i recieve texts, it annoyed me so much that i decided to do a warranty swap, and the new one does the same thing!is this a standard android thing? it seems to me that if i have recieved or sent a text to somebody within 30 minutes, it will not ring, as though it expects me to be hovering over my phone staring at it for a reply, is this a normal issue? and is there a way to fix it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to port cwm to the galaxy ring virgin mobile and i have a complete system dumb through adb but i need to find the recovery partition of my phone ive found system and cache and all the others but there is 4 un named partitions that have 8 mb each i dont want to pick and choose and mess it up. it seems like im the only one trying to do devolopement for this device. i have a feeling this device can handle cm10.1 or atleast 10 it has the 3.4 kernel 4.1.2 jellybean touchwiz 1.4 ghz single core processor.

my main reason for this is to get back app2sd and yes i know rooting will grant me a simular function.
What custom rom to use would be most welcome since i dont know wich support this phone.
secondly i would love information on what "custom rom" samsung provided via the use of volume down+power key at startup and if using it voids my warranty.
Is there a way to mute the ring tone of an incoming call while I am deciding what to do with the call? This morning some idiot rang me at 0150h. I was fumbling to mute the tone before it woke up the whole house. But I could not find any option. In meetings, it is a nuisance if the ringing blares away while I make my way out of the room to take the call.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have searched before posting this thread so please forgive me if I missed it somewhere. I have a stock Moment running cl14. I have made ring tones & placed them in the appropriate folders. Sometimes when I receive a phone call, the only way I know it is because my bluetooth will beep in my ear. The phone lights up & caller id kicks in but I get no sound & no vibrate. I can call the phone & actually see the symbol for "silent mode" pop up & disappear when the phone rings. I then have to go to the Sound & Display tab & re-choose the ring tone I already have selected from the list to get audible ring tones. Can anyone shed light into this?
Also sometimes my personalized ring tones for contacts will not play, or more like play the 1st time they call & play the default ring tone the 2nd time they call.
I am hoping this is just a setting somewhere I am missing. While I am on the Internet my Moment will not let me know if someone is calling. It sends the caller directly to voicemail without even ringing on their end. I have only had the phone for 4 days after switching from a Blackberry Curve. I went back and forth trying to decide if I wanted the Moment or the Tour. I chose the Moment but if the phone will not ring while I am surfing the Internet...it really is not going to work out.

Anyone know where I can find, say, a Samsung or Sanyo ringer pack? Or a bunch of standard cell phone ringers? I have AT&T now, so I don't really know how it works for Verizon and/or if there is a way to do this with the DX.
When I make a call there is a short, odd ring-tone that occurs just after I press Dial and before the normal ringing sound begins to indicate the call is going through.
It's about 1/2 second long, can be quite loud sometimes, and is kind of high-pitched....sorry, it's hard to describe. The tone modulates up and down quite fast - da-dum-da-dum-dum (if you can imagine).
I tried re-programming the phone, and also updating roaming, and it's still there every time I make a call. I haven't made any changes to call settings to speak of...never had this on my D1.
I need to unroot my Galaxy ring for testing. Don't want to try anything for other models.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay so i created a folder on my sd card called ringers, worked great for allowing me to use my mp3 files that i croped for my ringtones, however when the phone rings it doesnt ring at the desired volume from the begining, it vibrates only for 1 pulse then the volume slowly comes in from min to the desired level it is as if it is set to escalating. I have searched through all the settings but if there is a way to turn this off i have missed it. I know the mp3 file doesnt escalate because i use the same file on my moment and it rings at full volume from the beginning.

I have found a few on the Market but so far none are filling the bill as to what I need. Basically I have a little hearing loss so prefer basic tone type ring tones rather than a tune or clip from some song or movie. Funny but I kinda like the ring tone of the old standard phone ringer. Can someone suggest something on the Market or some other alternative? I suppose it's as easy as downloading anything using my computer and sending it to my cell phone and using it from there.

I have music on my music player app but I can't find where I add it on the contacts. Is there a way to delete some of the programs that came with the phone? Like the ones I know I will never use. I know from my home screen I can drag them to the trash but that doesn't delete them from the applications screens.

Sometimes, when I receive calls, the phone will ring 2 or three times before going to voicemail - it is almost like I am rejecting the calls, which I know I'm not, as it tends to happen when I'm not even touching the phone.

I just recieved my hero today and I love it except when I get a text or call it only vibrates, even when the ringer is on full volume. I went to Settings>Ringtone> and everytime I changed my ringtone, it WOULD NOT sample the tone even when the media and ringtone volume was FULL!

Every time I am in either of the above apps, my phone does not ring. Is this common. I just had Sprint walk me though a complete reboot of my phone and it still does not ring when in the mentioned apps. When I go to espn.com and surf there website, my phone will get "kicked" out of the website and start ringing.
