View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought an used Samsung Moment via Craiglist about 3 weeks ago. Initially, I had to wiggle my cable to get it charged. After few days, it was not charging nor communicating with my laptop via USB cable. Of course, the Craiglist seller was not willing help me.
After contacting Samsung, I had sent it in to be fixed since it was still under warranty. It just came back today with a note saying:
Your phone is damaged beyond economical repair in the form of a warped board, or missing or damaged components. The factory warranty has been voided.
I know that I can charge my battery via some kind of external batter charger that is around, but can I update my phone and/or root my phone without using USB cable? Can I use a bluetooth connection? If not any idea or suggestion?
My droid eris charger cable is coming apart. the cable part that connects to the phone side, the actual cable is exposing. Is it covered through warranty. Can i go to verizon and get an new cable from them.
View 4 Replies View RelatedCan I have 2.1 on my Eris using the USB cable included or do I need to by an adapter to use the micro SD card and get the update?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I insert the USB cable, I can go to notifications and mount the SD card so I can transfer files to and from my PC. This all works fine. Lets say I am all done with the connection to my PC so I want to disconnect the USB cable. I go to notifications and select "turn off USB storage". I get the message that I need to "unmount the host". So I go to settings and unmount the SD card, go back to notifications and turn off usb storage. Done, all this works fine too. Later in the day, I want to browse some videos and picture that are located on my SD card. I get the message "SD card unmounted". No problem, I will just go to setting and mount it? However, not mount option exists in settings. The only way I can mount the SD card after it has been unmounted, is to insert a USB cable, go to notifications and select mount, or to power off my phone and then power it back on.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo if my phone becomes a paper weight after the OTA rolls out then Verizon did it on purpose right? You can't tell me they can't force the OTA to override the leaked version. I would think they would force all the phones to update to their version of the OS. Therefore, if my phone bricks after the OTA then they are just being jerks right?

View 29 Replies View RelatedSo i found this link from theunlockr.com which shows you how to root your eris and put 2.1 on it. I want 2.1 but i am not sure about the root. Any cons to rooting? Will i still receive ota updates? Anything i can do with rooted eris that i can't do with non-rooted that would make the phone a lot better? I don't want to overclock it i am just looking for more options with the phone. Will i lose all my contacts and apps by doing this? Can i use different apps like the ones the moto droid can use but i can't because i am on 1.5?

View 46 Replies View Relatedi havent been postin much but have been lurking hardcore cus of 2.1 and root updates. anyways before anyone else gets their 2.1 OTA, please do us all an altruistic favor
1)Deny the OTA update when the phone prompts you, dont worry you can manually get this later.
2)Install the SDK and ADB on your computer and run the command
Ever since 2.1 my phone doesn't vibrate for SMS/MMS. I use the native messenger and I have notifications on and vibrate on, but it only vibrates for calls when in vibrate mode.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe charger cable is loose in my phone. It's not really a problem unless I'm messing with it while it's charging but it is annoying when it drops out of the phone. No way am I going to exchange it because of this but curious if it's common.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated my Eris to 2.1 about a month ago, and it's been running fine up until about last week. Lately, the battery hasn't been lasting me more than 12 hours, and I've done everything I can to save battery life, plus the battery cover usually gets hot enough to cook some eggs on top of. The problems I've encountered lately is with making and receiving calls. When trying to call someone, it seems to take forever. I know my phone isn't the fastest Android, but it used to work fine. It takes a good 30 seconds just to type in a 10 digit number; the phone usually freezes a couple of times, its just generally laggy.
When I try to receive a call, the same basic thing happens. The phone freezes up while I am trying to slide the bar down on the lock screen, etc. Here's the main issue. After sifting through the freezing and lagging, and finally get to the call, I cannot hear anything, and they cannot hear me. The call is connected; I see the notification up top, and I have got the vibrate to tell me it's connected.
Anyone know if the video cable is available for the Incredible yet?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new HERO that works perfectly and I love it. But I have an older laptop that doesn't have USB 2 on it and I can't seem to sync my calendar. In fact and I can't get to first base with it. The install fails on the laptop because I don't have usb 2.0 I'm guessing. Is there any other way to sync this with out a cable? This would be nice to get going as my HERO would be 100% then..
