I have a new HERO that works perfectly and I love it. But I have an older laptop that doesn't have USB 2 on it and I can't seem to sync my calendar. In fact and I can't get to first base with it. The install fails on the laptop because I don't have usb 2.0 I'm guessing. Is there any other way to sync this with out a cable? This would be nice to get going as my HERO would be 100% then..

After the "Finding HTC Sync on your PC" message, I get an error message saying: "Unable to find HTC Sync on your PC. Please make sure that HTC Sync is installed and opened on your PC [which it is]".
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have had DC 2.08.1 installed for about 2 weeks with no issues. I decided to go ahead and partition the SD to utilized apps2SD as I was having memory issues. That process, while not smooth, went through okay and the SD card is working with the partition and apps2SD. However, ever since that was completed, my Windows 7 box no longer recognizes the phone either as a phone or as a drive. My Linux laptop recognizes the drive without issue.
Any suggestions on how I can reintroduce my phone to the Windows box, at least as a drive?

How do I make it to see the calendar. I am running Outlook 2007.

When I plug my phone into my computer, I don't get anything, either on the phone or on the computer, except that the phone does start charging. I get no "start USB service" or whatever option in the phone and the phone does not show up as a drive. Nothing, nada, zilch, zero. I'm guessing it's the cable, but I'd like to confirm before going out and buying another cable.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe phone and cables are good as I can get HTC Sync to work on my old PC and this one worked just a few weeks ago and I can even get it to work in a VMware session. But for whatever reason the phone just keeps showing up as Unknown and is put under Other devices as “Android phone”. On the other PC and in the VMware it is added as "My HTC" under Android USB Devices in Device Manager.
I’ve tried a bunch of uninstalling and rebooting and so on but something on my new Windows 7 PC is stuck when connecting the phone. It thinks it has no driver for it but it does. If I try and point any of the HTC INF files Windows just says they are not for this device.
I cannot mount my phone to my computer. I've tried everything from installing new drivers, to debugging on and off. Nothing seems to work. Anyone still having this problem? please help. Obviously most things can be done wirelessly now, but I have lots of music files I want to transfer and my PC does not have bluetooth.
Am I missing a really obvious solution here? I use iTunes, so is there a way to just synch up the account with the Hero?
I've got a little problem with my HTC Hero. I got it yesterday and plugged it in to PC at home and charging was fine. At work today when I took my phone out of a pocket I noticed that red light is flashing. I've connected it to my Mac at work and it doesn't seem to charge it what so ever. It has been connected to Mac's USB for about 30 minutes and red light is still flashing. Tried to turn it on but ON/OFF button doesn't work. How long it needs to be plugged in to start again? Is it a Mac issue?
View 6 Replies View Relatedyou'll be able to set sync your G1 with an iTunes playlist (you're actually syncing the MicroSD card with iTunes, but it works the same). After you install the program, connect the G1. The "Recognize by folder type" field is important. It's basically how the program distinguishes your G1 from any other device you connect to your computer - I added a Notepad file called ANDROID to the root of the MicroSD card, seems like it can be anything that simple. In the "Music Folder" field, I pointed it to the Music folder at the root of the MicroSD card on the G1.
In the "Associate with playlist" I left it as "use device name." Now, when you go to iTunes, under "My Devices" there should be a playlist icon that says "G1". Add whatever files you want (make sure there isn't any DRM) and then right click on the iTunesAgent icon in your system tray and click "Synchronize devices."

I've been to 3 different Verizon stores and they have no idea what to do. It will sync with XP and Windows 7-32 bit. I have downloaded the Motorola 4.6.0 Driver with MotoConnect* (for 64-bit versions of Windows�). When I connect to my computer, it acts like it will connect and sometimes it does for a couple of minutes then the drive just disappears. I have marked "Debugging". I have Googled and tried everything out there with no luck.

When I hook the phone up via USB cable the SD card shows up in MY COMPUTER but I cannot open/browse it, I tried the card in my old Samsung E900 and its fine I added my music and other files that way.
I have HTC sync and added some apps I had on PC to the Hero withno problems at all but how to I add other files?
