Samsung Moment :: How To Connect Phone Via USB Cable To Computer?
Jan 31, 2010How to connect my phone via USB cable to my computer. I know you turn off USB debugging option under development. I connect the USB cable that came with my phone to USB on my computer and then to my phone. At the top of my phone it comes up with the notification to mount my card touch on that and them my phone comes up saying to turn off mass storage. Using Windows XP and in explorer can see the SD card showing as a drive in my list however when I click on it it shows nothing.
I can see the notice of the usb drive in the listings showing that I can turn it off, which I do before I disconnect the phone from my computer. Then I try to connect the USB again to my phone and all it does is show its charging the phone now, usually the only way to resolve is either to restart my computer or restart my phone and the problem starts all over again. I am tired of taking the card out of my phone manually to connect it to my computer to move or copy files or anything to my card which is an 8GB sandisk micro sd card.

Aug 12, 2010I bought an used Samsung Moment via Craiglist about 3 weeks ago. Initially, I had to wiggle my cable to get it charged. After few days, it was not charging nor communicating with my laptop via USB cable. Of course, the Craiglist seller was not willing help me.
After contacting Samsung, I had sent it in to be fixed since it was still under warranty. It just came back today with a note saying:
Your phone is damaged beyond economical repair in the form of a warped board, or missing or damaged components. The factory warranty has been voided.
I know that I can charge my battery via some kind of external batter charger that is around, but can I update my phone and/or root my phone without using USB cable? Can I use a bluetooth connection? If not any idea or suggestion?

Dec 15, 2009I am unable to connect to my PC with the USB cable!! Last night I was loading some stuff on my phone and the USB was acting up and now today when I plug it in it acts like I am plugging in to power. I installed usb switcher from the market and it tells me that I need to hook up to usb first. I reset the phone and it did not help, I have tried to to change the settings from mas storage to pc studio and turned on debugging.

Dec 28, 2012I am trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy Express to my W7 PC with a usb cable. I was able to do it last week. I have changed nothing. Suddenly, it won't connect. But it does charge when connected to the PC. It also does not work in my W7 laptop, though it charges in that also. Further, my wife has an identical model phone, and it works in both computers. And just for fun, I tried two different usb cables, not that I even expected that to make a difference.
I have been through the abysmal tech support attempt - which basically told me to do everything I already tried from a google search. Settings changes, all that junk.

May 24, 2010I have been trying to connect my wiimote controller to my phone using bluetooth. There are a few apps in the market that allow this to work and most people seem to be having success with this app while I keep getting that error when I ever I try to connect it.

Samsung Moment :: Need To Keep Audio Cable Plugged Into Headphone Jack 24/7
Nov 11, 20101. When my car is off, I need the telephone audio to go out the headphone jack.
2. When my car is on, I need the Moment to make a Bluetooth connection with the car and send the telephone audio to the car.
3. I need to keep the audio cable plugged into the headphone jack 24/7.
It is an extremely long story, so just assume 1, 2, and 3 are true and accept that premise.
If the car is on Bluetooth is active but there is an audio cable plugged into the headphone jack, audio is sent out the cable and NOT via Bluetooth. So when the car is on, I need to trick the Moment into not realizing that there is a audio cable plugged into the headphone jack, so that it will send the audio via Bluetooth to the car.Here's my plan:
Disconnect the audio jack from the Moment.
Wire speaker audio to the audio jack.
Assume I have a PACE SMT kit and am comfortable with dealing with surface mount components.From the physical layout, is this do-able?

Sep 15, 2010Since I rooted to Radioactive Froyo 1.8.22 I've not been able to get my phone to connect to my PC. I tried uninstalling the programs I used to flash, [including deleting the registry files] and even re-downloaded the samsung update program, ran it to the point where it installs the drivers, and it then quit, and it still will not work.

Mar 5, 2010After a month of owning my moment I finally got around to buying a usb cord to move some pics and music around between my laptop and cell. I saw on here about PDAnet and wanted to use that. I downloaded and went to install and it brought up the box that if I was going to use it with a moment I needed to cancel and install the driver, I d/l the driver and tryed to install and it gets an error unable to intall driver. I went to the control panel and it shows 5 different usb drivers for samsung as installed, I tryed to uninstall and none of them uninstall. Aug 3, 2010I just got a replacement yesterday for my phone since my old one would not connect to GPS. All was fine, I rooted and installed Radioactive FroYo 1.8.9 (or what ever the newest is) plug my phone in at 11pm, wake up at 8am and my phone wasn't fully charged. I unplugged it and checked my email which only took a minute and it dropped to about 50%. WTF I thought, so I plug it into my laptop and it detected it, then I unplugged it, then I plugged it in again and nothing happened, wiggled the cord around and it would go in and out of being connected to the computer. So this phone has a bad USB or something, which would explain why a couple times last night I heard the single chime coming from my phone. So now I have to reflash my phone and have Sprint order me another phone.

Sep 3, 2010I had to get my moment replace because the screen screwed up. I had Easyteher on my phone prior to getting this one and worked good, it was working when first I hooked this phone up, it let me mount it to my computer and easytether worked fine. Then I don't know what happened. My computer doesn't see my phone anymore, and when I plug it into the computer is doesn't say "usb debugging connected" like it did before. Also when I pull down the notification bar and press menu it doesn't do anything. I thought that was how I mounted my phone before. The only thing that it does is charge the phone when I plug it in to the usb. I have tried on 3 computers, one using windows 7, Vista and XP, and not one of them worked. I seen that other people had this similar problem but I couldn't find an answer. My phone is not rooted either, please help me This is driving me nuts, I need to use my computer at work, and this is the only way I can get internet connection.

Jun 14, 2010I had a moment in the beginning and took it back,got a hero had massive problems and finally got my hero replaced with another moment that was brand new.I just got it like 2-3 days ago and its having the same issues that i had on 1.5 when i had it the first time.I had it replaced when i had it the first time and same issue.I have 2.1 now and the battery life is still horrible like dropping not long after taking it off the charger without using it but biggest problem is that the phone will tell me i have no service and it will have an x up above where the bars should be and i have to remove the battery and put it back in before it will work again.The data does the same thing and i can turn the phone off and back on for that and it will work again.Does this happen to anyone else??Its very frustrating!!Also the wifi wont connect.It just says it is unable to connect but it was just working and my laptop works wirelessly so i know that its not my router or anything with my connection.
