My droid eris charger cable is coming apart. the cable part that connects to the phone side, the actual cable is exposing. Is it covered through warranty. Can i go to verizon and get an new cable from them.

All I'm looking for is a duplicate of the wall charger/usb cable that came with the Droid. That and the ability to buy it online.
The Verizon website doesn't seem to carry it - has anyone had any luck anywhere else? A retailer they can recommend? I've mucked about on NewEgg and Amazon but have not found it.
The charger cable is loose in my phone. It's not really a problem unless I'm messing with it while it's charging but it is annoying when it drops out of the phone. No way am I going to exchange it because of this but curious if it's common.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I insert the USB cable, I can go to notifications and mount the SD card so I can transfer files to and from my PC. This all works fine. Lets say I am all done with the connection to my PC so I want to disconnect the USB cable. I go to notifications and select "turn off USB storage". I get the message that I need to "unmount the host". So I go to settings and unmount the SD card, go back to notifications and turn off usb storage. Done, all this works fine too. Later in the day, I want to browse some videos and picture that are located on my SD card. I get the message "SD card unmounted". No problem, I will just go to setting and mount it? However, not mount option exists in settings. The only way I can mount the SD card after it has been unmounted, is to insert a USB cable, go to notifications and select mount, or to power off my phone and then power it back on.

Recently whenever I plug my phone into the charger or a mini USB cable it won't stay connected unless I hold it there. Would this be due to the cable or the actual plug on the bottom of the phone coming loose?
I had this happen with an LG Chocolate before and had to get it replaced.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy phone was dying so i charged it. Plug it in, 30 mins past so i went to check on it.
So i looked at it and battery is still red. And i am wonder what the heck. Everything is plug in where it should be.
Low and behold the chord connecting at the mini usb well let's just say the casing is ripping apart and the wire is exposed. I've had this phone for 3 weeks and this happens.
Verizon better give me a new charger. Also i've notice i always get Sense UI force closed and other apps force closed but if i close and start again it works.
So before my eris i had a BB curve 8330 (its old, i know) the plugs are compatible from BB to eris, so i still use my car charger, but the wall charger output matches voltage, but the one that came with the eris says 1A, the one from the BB says 750mA.Am i about to fry something? i can read an electrical diagram and solder something, but i dont understand electrical stuff.

I'm not familiar with the normal operation temperature so I don't know if this is off the charts or just above normal.

View 29 Replies View RelatedI am using the OEM charger on my Dinc and nothing else. I randomly get a message something like, "The charger you are using is not compatible with your device. Remove the charger now to avoid damage to your phone". I have not used anything other than the OEM charger ever. It isn't loose or frayed or bent strangely. It also seems to charge even though the message pops up. For now, I'm using my computer's USB port to charge it but man, that's SLOOOOOOOOW. It has done it since I first got the phone and before I had even installed my first app. It also does it after a factory reset and reprogram. Customer service is sending an aftermarket wall charger free of charge until I can get an OEM unit as they are obviously out of stock.

I can now just pull up my sd card and everything on it from my pc without plugging anything in. I was able to push a 78mb file straight to my phone from my pc. View everything on my card. I know this might be old news to everyone else but new to me so i thought i would share the info.

The pc itself will recognize that a device has been connected and begins the add new device wizard. The phone however will fail to prompt the mounting options in the notification bar. Im not really sure what could have caused this since i havent made any changes to my phone since manually installing 2.2 last week and grabbing a few new apps. BUT, I did drop my phone earlier today onto my garage floor. Any chance these mounting troubles may be a result of the fall?
