I didn't back them up on google, But I while back I backed them up though an app on my LG dare on the verizon server, how do I get them back?
I did the manual update everything went fine all is well..then i went to see someones number and boom its not there..i had 30 contacts before update and now i had 7
I dont use any google syncing
Luckily i had a backup app on there so was able to restore them all but dont know why this happened
I lost most of my contacts with the OTA 2.1 upgrade. Some have resynced from Facebook and Gmail, but a great deal of them are still missing including numbers I didnt have synced to FB or Gmail. The numbers are still associated with text messages in messaging app and Handcent, but all contact info has been lost on most of them. Is there any way to get my lost contacts back or are they gone forever?
View 6 Replies View RelatedEarlier by Eris just lost all my contacts, all the ones that Verizon transferred over to my Eris. All that is left now are just the phone numbers from people that have left text messages but those who I do not have a recent call history with are gone. Is there any way for me to regain those contacts without having to re-enter every one of them all over again, or possibly without having to go to Verizon for them to import my contacts?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but since the last OTA update, my Eris was literally stuck in 1xRTT data mode for unknown reasons. I fiddled with all the mobile network settings I knew about to no avail.
On a lark, I dialed *611 to try to get tech support on the line. I figured that maybe the Seattle area was having some service issue or something. Instead, the tech suggested I try dialing *228 and hitting option 2 in the menu (essentially resetting the phone's roaming setup)
Boom goes the dynamite, as they say. After a reboot, my Eris is sailing on the winds of 3G awesomeness and it's all thanks to a Verizon tech giving the right answer. Never thought I'd actually utter those last six words.
I have a Droid Eris. I have sent my contacts from my phone to my gmail account before. After the Android update I can not send the contacts from my phone to my gmail account. How can I send my phone contacts to my gmail account?

View 10 Replies View RelatedToday I went to update my X10. While at work it wouldn't allow me to as it insisted I connected it to a computer. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer. Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup. After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process. I left it restoring for a while.
When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap. But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. I tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere. I have work related contacts as well as family & friends and really need to get my contacts back - please advise?
After a system update a day ago, the contacts photos have disappeared. Anyone know why this happened, or how to get them back? I tried re-synchronizing my accounts, but the photos still dont show.

what will be lost, contacts? photos? apps installed? im guessing SD card data will be unaffected.
Just updated my Eris to 2.1 today. Once updated I lost all my contacts photos from facebook in "people." Just wondering how to get them back on there.

Does wavesecure not work if it's uncharged? Anyway, I'm still on contract, but no insurance. Is there any way to still somehow locate my phone using wavesecure?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI wanted to manually upgrade my eris but I wanted to back up all my contacts first. I find out the HTC sync doesn't work with windows 7 =[ I tried for about 2 hours and gave up on that one. I noticed you could sync your phone with your gmail account you used on the phone. Only I forgot which one that is I don't ever use gmail so I don't know what email I made. I really want to update it because I'm so impatient but I don't want to have to redo all my contacts.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI did the over the air 2.1 update and now my People app sync'd all 2000 of my Gmail contacts and there appears to be *no* option to sync just the 'My Contacts' group of my Gmail account. There was an option for that in Eris 1.5 (although I remember it being a little hard to find). But I've searched everywhere, and there is no "Sync Groups" option on any of the tabs of the People app. I also tried wiping the Contacts Storage app and resyncing, but that was no help. There are no options in Settings->Accounts & Sync either. This is a crippling regression bug, how could they have shipped the 2.1 update like this? Or am I just missing some hidden sync option?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I just recently updated to the 2.1 and I've been having lots of trouble with contacts. Every single one of my contacts in my call history is listed as unknown even though I have them all in "people". Furthermore, when I go to Messages>Compose message and type in a person's name in where it says "To" they do not come up in the search results despite being part of of my "people" contacts. Is there anyway I can fix this without having to reset my enitre phone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen my girlfriend got her Eris about 4-5 months ago Verizon was kind enough to copy her contacts from her Razor phone to her new Eris. However she now needs to return the phone for service (silent call bug) and she went to G mail to ensure all her contacts was backed up... they are not. It seems the contacts are stored on her phone (Eris) and not in g mail. How can we import all of her contacts from the phone memory into G mail?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI did my update manually earlier today without any problems (all of my contacts were Google).I have a question for my sister's though:How do you convert all of your Phone contacts to Google contacts? I don't want to do the .csv backup and all that just sync all Phone and Google contacts to Google. The reason is because when Verizon transfers your numbers, they get saved as Phone contacts but from what I understand, the update only re-syncs your Google contacts. So is there a quick/easy way to do this? She is not very tech-savvy.I just want to make sure she does this before she upgrades,so she doesn't lose all of her phone numbers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis might just be me being picky, but... after the update yesterday, when I go to select multiple contacts to send a text to it now gives a list of EVERYONE in my phone book and facebook friends listing their home/email/cell phone numbers all individually, which caused the list to go from about 50 names to scroll through to over 300. Now before the update when I went to select multiple contacts to send a text to it was just the list of the people who's phone numbers I have in my phone. (BTW, this is the stock messaging feature, not an app or any of that). I've looked for hours for a setting to only show phone numbers and not to show facebook contacts in the text selection but no luck at all. Can you guys help a semi tech savvy guy out here?

View 9 Replies View RelatedAnyone else lost 3G? My phone is fine cause I haven't flashed a ROM in a few days. But I Rooted a friend of mines yesterday and flashed Suave Smush. Everything was fine until he called me this morning and said he had lost 3G. A little later it would not send or receive a text message. Then it kept saying he was out of his home network. We wipped it clean and did the Nand Restore and its fine now. His phone still has Android 1.5.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy question is when you root the Eris is anything lost such as data on the phone that will have to be re-installed? Or is does it wipe the phone? I would prefer not to have to re-install but I will if it is necessary. Also will I be able to receive any further OTA updates? I know that the one scheduled for tomorrow is most likely the last that this phone will see but just in case I want all of my bases covered. I would also like to take advantage of possibly putting 2.2 on it if there is not an official release so I can take advantage of the awesome features that 2.2 offers. I really don't care about loosing SenseUi because I use Launcher Pro and love it and prefer not to switch back to SenseUi. One more thing. I really want to take out certain apps that came with the phone that are only a nuisance to me such as amazonmp3, Stocks, Tweet & google talk. And of course take advantage of the apps that are available only to rooted phones.
