Sprint HTC Hero :: Google Accounts And Email Sync

I am new to the Android Universe (Picked up my Sprint HTC Hero yesterday)I have a question about google accounts and email sync.
1st, On my previous phone (Windows Mobile) I had my gmail account set up so that my email is "pushed" to my phone. I thought that the android phones were automatically set up to do that, or do I have to do something to get this to work. I only ask because it seems to take a while to receive emails on my phone.
2nd, Before I got the phone I was reading up on the features, and a lot of the posts I read made it seem like I could access my google reader section, saved maps, sync bookmarks, and anything else I had with my google account. But, I can't seem to figure out how to do this. The most I have figured out on the maps is latitude, and nothing else with reader, bookmarks, etc.

I don't know what i was thinking and I added a pretty spammy email account to my hero. I can't for the life of me figure out how just to delete the whole account so no messages get forwarded.

Basically I want to set a different notification sound to each of my different email accounts that I have setup in the mail app (not the gmail one, but the one where you add IMAP accounts) I don't think it's possible since it seems like it should be a function of the mail app and not the system...but there's no place in the mail app to set a sound (that I can find).

So here in the land of 2.1 on the Sprint Hero we're supposed to be able to have multiple Google Accounts. It says so straight up when you go to Settings Accounts & sync -> Add Account -> Google ("You can use more than one Google Account on your phone...").When I try to add the 2nd account I get the issue that other people report when trying to replace their first account, or if they skipped account setup when activating the device. when i first set up my hero at bestbuy she had me set up my gmail. Well this being my first time using a touch screen i typed it wrong! basically i use my name for my email anyways my last name is OROSCO and i accidently typed OROSCP! so my email readed xxxxxxxoroscp@gmail.com. This didnt bother me till i began to use my gmail account as my main email acccount so i decided to change it BUT when i deleted the mispelled account i forgot that my paid apps were linked to that account so now i cant update my paid apps cause it does not recognize my gmail account as the one that purchased it am i screwed or is there anything i can do? Also im afraid when 2.1 comes out i might lose my paid apps and will not be able to get them back! anyone?

I have setup my gmail properly(gmail app), but for some reason it does not want to fetch my mail or if it does it does 20 mins later or so. Anyone else having this problem and i have hard reset and checked all settings for data sync. I have not seen this problem so i am thinking it a software problem. I just want to know if anyone has setup using gmail and is getting mail pushed to them right away. Also i know its not push mail but it suppose to come kinda close.

just noticed that when i read my gmail from the phone, it doesn't mark it off as read when i check on the computer. also when i try to reply or send an email, it is just stuck there with a red "sending". anyone have any idea what is going on?

Does anyone know of an App that acts similar to the Blackberry email client? What i really mean is does anyone know of an app that acts as a third party entering your log in details and then pushing emails to your phone (similar to what i believe the BB client does)
I only ask as i wish to connect to my Uni email address and the IMAP settings are restricted on undergraduate accounts, so cant sync in the usual way via IMAP. However, people who have BB's at uni have no issue in connecting to their emails. On asking the IT guys why this is they explained "The reason people are able to use Blackberry?s is due to the fact that they provide there password to an external company to access there mail on behalf of them which is strongly against the terms and conditions of there university account, and as a result should not be doing this at all." Essentially i need an app that mimics this. his new HTC desire?

Due to circumstances at my work , I cannot access the internal network outside.
Therefore I have to use exchange active sync to sync my work calendar whilst I am at work.
To access emails outside of work with have a email route setup and a external email host.
The short is I have to add 2 accounts under the same email address. One which will connect to the work network locally over wifi and the other that will just allow me to view work emails externally.
This has worked fine previously but since my phone has been updated to 4.4 kitkat when adding the second account it pops up with a error message about duplicate accounts.
How can i bypass this message and add the second account?

I have one gmail (personal) account, and one google account (for work, not email, just google services account).My main account is my gmail one on android and it's fine.But I would also like to see my work contacts and calendar.I added it to my "accounts & sync settings" but it always said "Sync is OFF", no way to turn it on for this account.Just to make it clear, my work account is NOT a gmail account, I use my work email address as a log-in for all other google services (mainly calendar and contacts)

For some reason lately if I delete or show a email as read it doesn't sync that to my online gmail. There has been times when it shows 4 unread emails on the phone (even though everything is read) and when I log into gmail it shows the 4 unread emails even if it was ones I deleted. exchange to sync email due to the fact you have more options on the email client that comes with phone as opposed to the basic gmail program that comes with phone? Is this a good way to go? Is exchange just as fast in pushing the email as google is when it syncs as it comes in? Thanks...

My Eris won't sync my Google, Facebook, or Twitter accounts. It last did so last Monday, 11/15. I have had emails, messages, tweets, etc. sent to me, but they never sync to my phone, I have to go online to get my Gmail (refreshing within the app does nothing), but refreshing manually from the Facebook and Twitter apps does work. Going into Settings > Accounts & Sync > Sync Now does nothing, and all of the settings here are correct.I've tried rebooting and pulling the battery, but it still does it. Haven't installed anything new recently, since my internal storage is full.

I have the phone running Android 2.3.4 (rooted).I have two Google accounts setup on my phone. I use both of them as there are apps purchased from both accounts.
I would like to sync contacts from my phone to BOTH the accounts. As of now, contacts are being synced to just one Google Account. In the "Accounts and Sync", I see both the Google Accounts listed, with the "Sync Contacts" option enabled for both accounts.
Is it possible to sync contacts to both GOOGLE accounts from the phone? If yes, how?

Was planning on rooting today but as i went to sync my contacts i realized i got an error message that says "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." did a battery pull and nothing happens. Will it start working again "shortly" or is there a fix?

I use the Google Voice (GV) click to call (click-to-call / ctt) feature quite a bit. When it rings my phone, my OWN google voice number shows up in my phone's call log. Does anybody know if it is possible, or how, to get the click-to-call initiated calls to show up as the person that I was calling in my phone's call log?

I have just updated my phone to 2.1. Also I have two email accounts. One Gmail and one dslextreme account. It used to be that when I got email from one or both accounts I would get a little envelope in my notification bar. Dragging that down it would show me the email in the Gmail account and the dslextreme account. But now I have a third notification with the google M in it. If I click it it opens a "conversation" window with the email. I can respond to it and it works just fine. But if I click on the Gmail email I get the usual looking email format. Now the interesting thing is if I ignore the google M and go straight to the google email and deal with the email from there the google M conversation disappears. Thank you for bearing with me through that lengthly explanation but here is my question. How do I turn off this google M conversation? I don't want that third notification nor do I want that style of email delivered. I want to go back to the standard type of email delivery. It's coming to my phone alright but I don't want dual notifications. I remember when I was setting up this new OS that a box came up and I checked this google M not understanding what it was but I have looked through all my settings and can't figure out how to shut it off.

I wanted to go to the play store on my tab to update an app I had but I couldn't connect to the store at all. So I went to the my account under the in the settings app and I saw that its been having some sync issues. I kept retrying the sync but it kept failing. So I deleted the account off of my tablet and tryed to log back in. Now it won't even log in and its telling me it can't establish a reliable connection to the server and takes me to the WiFi options in settings.
I dont know whats wrong. My internet works perfectly fine. I can surf the web, watch videos, download and even play apps that require an online connection on my tab but I can't use any Google services for some reason.

Recently I got kinda excited over the new Froydvillain update cuz of Froyo, so I went to flash this rom. However I found out (I should have known too) that there's no Sense in this build. I tried to make do with it but I guess I'm too used to HTC's widget (Especially Friendsteam despite the umpteen times that it failed!). Anyways I flashed back to VillainRom12 which I was using previously and damn,
Friendstream still doesn't work cuz there's this error message when I try to access the accounts and sync settings page.

I asked this in the other "Hero" subforum, but I thought I'd ask it here, too. I really like what I see from this phone, but I wonder how it handles multiple Gmail accounts. I have three Gmail accounts for different purposes. My iPhone 3G handles these with no problem. I don't see anything in the Hero manual that indicates that it will play well with multiple Gmail accounts.

I get emails to my yahoo account from an organization that puts links in its emails.
I have to click on some of these links to email the organization. Clicking one of these links opens up an email with a form I have to fill out.
I'm having a problem using my yahoo email because of something google does involving sync. This is on my nexus 7 which I bought in 2012.When I click on a link in an email, a full-screen window opens up that says
Gmail Account not synced / This account isn't set up to sync automatically.
Touch Sync Now to sync mail once, or Change Sync Settings to set up this account to sync mail automatically.
At the bottom of the screen it has "Sync now" and "Change sync settings" buttons.
I don't want to have to sync; I would just like to avoid or opt out of the whole thing and use the computer normally, without any interference from google. But for what it's worth, I have tried syncing. It never works. I have gone into settings and tried changing sync on and off, I have tried logging out of my gmail account, rebooting; I can never get the link to work. Always the window pops up when I click on an email link.
I have tried copy-pasting the link to the url window (same thing happens). I have copy-pasted it into a text editor and examined it. It has mailto followed by the organization's email address and a string of commands that creates the form-letter body of the email. I need that form letter, I can't just open a blank email to the organization.

the email app being the the white envelope, yellow insert icon app. so for example, when i hit one specific inbox, i can either hit "refresh", or pull down for it to retrieve emails. But when i go into "all accounts" I don't see an option.

after installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?

I'm having some issues with email syncing on my Hero. I like the HTC email app and widget, so I set up the Mail app to sync to my Gmail account via exchange (for the push functionality). Well, it does not work very well and sometimes not at all.
Here's some symptoms:
- If new emails do somehow make it to my phone, they are marked unread. I read them and they are then marked read. Then after about a minute, the phone syncs again, and they are then marked unread all over again. It's a continuous cycle until...
- The mail that does make it to my phone is sometimes randomly deleted. I verified this by logging into gmail from my computer and messages that were on my phone are now in the trash folder.
- Most mail does not even make it to my phone.
It started out working just fine for about 6 hours or so and then the problems began. I've tried deleting the account from the phone and starting fresh. It does the same thing even on a fresh account now.
I tried to just use the Gmail app since I was tired of trying to deal with it. The Gmail app does not push either. I have to manually sync it. It will never sync on its own. I have the option checked in data synchronization to sync gmail. Is there some other option I need to check to make sure that it pushes new mail?
All I want is to receive pushed email. I need the instant notification of new mail. I know that it is capable of doing this.
