Sprint HTC Hero :: Changed Google Accounts

when i first set up my hero at bestbuy she had me set up my gmail. Well this being my first time using a touch screen i typed it wrong! basically i use my name for my email anyways my last name is OROSCO and i accidently typed OROSCP! so my email readed xxxxxxxoroscp@gmail.com. This didnt bother me till i began to use my gmail account as my main email acccount so i decided to change it BUT when i deleted the mispelled account i forgot that my paid apps were linked to that account so now i cant update my paid apps cause it does not recognize my gmail account as the one that purchased it am i screwed or is there anything i can do? Also im afraid when 2.1 comes out i might lose my paid apps and will not be able to get them back! anyone?

So here in the land of 2.1 on the Sprint Hero we're supposed to be able to have multiple Google Accounts. It says so straight up when you go to Settings Accounts & sync -> Add Account -> Google ("You can use more than one Google Account on your phone...").When I try to add the 2nd account I get the issue that other people report when trying to replace their first account, or if they skipped account setup when activating the device. I am new to the Android Universe (Picked up my Sprint HTC Hero yesterday)I have a question about google accounts and email sync.
1st, On my previous phone (Windows Mobile) I had my gmail account set up so that my email is "pushed" to my phone. I thought that the android phones were automatically set up to do that, or do I have to do something to get this to work. I only ask because it seems to take a while to receive emails on my phone.
2nd, Before I got the phone I was reading up on the features, and a lot of the posts I read made it seem like I could access my google reader section, saved maps, sync bookmarks, and anything else I had with my google account. But, I can't seem to figure out how to do this. The most I have figured out on the maps is latitude, and nothing else with reader, bookmarks, etc.

After rooting and installing fresh, and the jumbo kernal, and setcpu I have noticed all my icons changed. I have no idea what they are, and it also seems I have some new ones! I also did a search and came up with a thread that appeared to list the stock icons, just wondering if anyone has a list of the new ones!

I don't know what i was thinking and I added a pretty spammy email account to my hero. I can't for the life of me figure out how just to delete the whole account so no messages get forwarded.

Basically I want to set a different notification sound to each of my different email accounts that I have setup in the mail app (not the gmail one, but the one where you add IMAP accounts) I don't think it's possible since it seems like it should be a function of the mail app and not the system...but there's no place in the mail app to set a sound (that I can find).

I asked this in the other "Hero" subforum, but I thought I'd ask it here, too. I really like what I see from this phone, but I wonder how it handles multiple Gmail accounts. I have three Gmail accounts for different purposes. My iPhone 3G handles these with no problem. I don't see anything in the Hero manual that indicates that it will play well with multiple Gmail accounts.

after installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?

iv heard ppl who downloaded android 2.2 online and installed it themselves on there phone since its not being offered ota. but im wondering if its safe? the phone is not actually getting 2.2 ever, so doing this would be my own choice. but im wondering if it will run smoothly, better than 2.1 update 1, and if there will be any problems or if anything that may not work because of compatability problems with the phone. because some people have said that 2.2 isnt being released to the hero because the phone is not physically capeable of it do to software and hardware (such as space ram speeds etc.), and others have said they installed it themselves and it works fine, that its actually made to run using less space then 2.1 making it better.

I have had a lot of smart phones but never used bluetooth headsets and have a few questions.Can you get a bluetooth earpiece for answering phone calls that lets you answer from the headset once paired?
Do all the earpieces support streaming or playing music/sprint tv audio/Google listen?Are they all mono or do some single earpieces have stereo?Is there an industry standard for noise reduction that I should look for in the feature list? Any other tips if I just want to buy one and be satisfied its the right one?

Is anyone else interested in how Google voice will affect calling minutes? If you currently have your GV number set to call your Sprint cell and your incoming call is from another cell phone will you be charged for the minutes? If you setup your phone so GV is used to call all numbers that you dial will you be charged for calling other cellular number because GV masks the number? I have been through every level of support that Sprint offers and no one can answer me. Sadly tier 3 technical support told me "Google Voice is useless on a cell phone and you would not want to use this anyway". I had nothing more to say after that!

I rooted my sprint HTC hero and installed CM6 on it the other day, and everything is working great... except voicemail. I was using the Sprint VVM app, and that worked, but I got that annoying SMS message with each new voicemail, so I decided to switch to Google Voice (for voicemail only). It seems to work, except when my friends (who also have Sprint) call, and I don't answer the call, they either get a fast busy signal or they hear a voice say something like "Call cannot be completed. Goodbye" and then it hangs up.
Calling from land-lines and other cells seems to work ok? I just enabled Google Voice today, so do I need to wait a certain amount of time before it works Sprint to Sprint, or? Has anyone else seen this before? I should mention, it only happens on unanswered calls. If i dismiss the call before it's done ringing, it properly goes to google voicemail.

I haven't been able to figure out how to change the google account I originally activated my hero with. The reason i want to change it is because my gmail app only opens email from that account, and I used a new gmail account to register my phone with that was specifically for my contacts, and now i cant check my other gmail accounts email. anyone know a good solution without having to format?

Why the google voice app icon changed to the android character. I liked it better with the phone in a talk bubble. Is there a way to change it back. The android character is too common, doesn't really say texting or voice mail. hope they change it back or give an option to have the older one.

It seems that 2.2 locks google talk into the first google account you sign up with.I thought on 2.1 I could sign in to the account I wanted to use, however it appears that's not the case now.I use gmail (for google checkout) however my main "google" account is an apps account.So I believe for the market to be associated correctly with my gmail account, that one needs to be created first.Any way to get google talk to use my apps account, or any way to play with the accounts (create, clear/remove, re-add) to get them setup so the market works with my gmail account but gtalk uses my apps account?

Perhaps If I post the question, some one can PLEASE assist?I have a Gmail addy for a side business, and I created that account on my (EVO) phone "initially". I originally did a sync with it. However, after some thought, I decided to create a personal Gmail account and wanted ALL of my phone's contacts to sync with THAT newly created personal Gmail account. No can do.Although I have the original Gmail account's settings on "off" (not to sync at all), when I sync the phone to Google, all calendar events are there on the new G account, but NOT the contacts. They are simply not coming over?

I'm having some issues with utilizing my Google Calendar on my Hero.
First off, I've always used my company's Exchange Server for Contacts and Calendar, simply because my Outlook is always open at work and it's easier than opening a web browser to access my Google Calendar and Contacts. The problem I've been seeing lately with my Hero, for some reason, is that the Exchange syncronization is out of whack. There are times where it acts as it should (it's set to sync "As Items Arrive") and other times where it won't sync for 12 hours. I'll look at my phone, and emails and calendar entries that have either been deleted, changed or added are not sync'd with the server.
Yesterday, I realized that Google has a sync client that can sync the Exchange with your Google Calendar, so I set that up on my work computer to sync every 10 minutes with my Exchange Server, and then set my phone to only sync/show the Google Calendar, figuring that I could bypass the potential Exchange Issues. I gave this setup a try, and the calendar became virtually unusable. It would take 40 seconds to open and perform any kind of action. Once opened, it would hang. I also noticed that under "Date Syncronization" in the Google tab, the Calendar was continually trying to sync (it was always showing the little sync circle) and the icon was a mainstay at the top of the screen. I've always had the Google calendar sync with the phone (no idea why, since I never had it viewed in the Calendar app) and I never saw this behavior (interesting note....I finally figured out why I was getting dual notifications on things even after dismissing....even though the calendar isn't being "shown" in the app....the data is still being synced and the notification will still go off...duh on my part). Could this constant syncing and hanging of the app be a result of the calendar continually polling my Exchange Server? I'd really like a way to utilize the Google Calendar sync on my phone without actually having to use the UI of Google Calendar on the computer.

I got an invite from our benevolent overload Google to try out their new google voice feature. I haven't set up anything yet, because 1. i dont know if I really need it 2. I am not sure 100% of what it does. Is anyone running GV currently for their HTC hero and if so, what is your take on the service? Thanks!

The primary account on my N1 is a Google Apps account. I added code to one of my apps to support the LVL. Now I am trying to test it on my N1. Since the address associated with my market publisher acct is an @gmail address and not my Google Apps account the license check fails every time. I tried adding my Google Apps account to the list of "test" accounts in my profile. It continues to fail. Has anyone else encountered this? Has anyone been successful using a Google Apps account as a test account?

I just got the Galaxy S yesterday and so far I love it.But when I added my Google account for syncing purposes, it sync'd my contacts and calendar twice.It's really annoying.So I get 2 email notifications for the same email and I see 2 of the same entries in my calendar.When I go into SETTINGS -> Accounts, I see 2 Google accounts. One has the Google symbol in Blue, the other is in Black.

I have one gmail (personal) account, and one google account (for work, not email, just google services account).My main account is my gmail one on android and it's fine.But I would also like to see my work contacts and calendar.I added it to my "accounts & sync settings" but it always said "Sync is OFF", no way to turn it on for this account.Just to make it clear, my work account is NOT a gmail account, I use my work email address as a log-in for all other google services (mainly calendar and contacts)
