Have added yahoo and google accounts no problem - but comes up with the "mail server not responding" when I try to set up my btconnect account. any ideas? need this set up for my business - driving me crazy!

Firstly and most irritating is the fact i cannot download apps off the android marketplace on wifi or 3G. I click download but the progress bar just remains on 'starting download,and secondly i can't connect email accounts properly my hotmail connects and doesn't pick up my emails and i can't even connect my googlemail.com address.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am new to the Android Universe (Picked up my Sprint HTC Hero yesterday)I have a question about google accounts and email sync.
1st, On my previous phone (Windows Mobile) I had my gmail account set up so that my email is "pushed" to my phone. I thought that the android phones were automatically set up to do that, or do I have to do something to get this to work. I only ask because it seems to take a while to receive emails on my phone.
2nd, Before I got the phone I was reading up on the features, and a lot of the posts I read made it seem like I could access my google reader section, saved maps, sync bookmarks, and anything else I had with my google account. But, I can't seem to figure out how to do this. The most I have figured out on the maps is latitude, and nothing else with reader, bookmarks, etc.
Basically I want to set a different notification sound to each of my different email accounts that I have setup in the mail app (not the gmail one, but the one where you add IMAP accounts) I don't think it's possible since it seems like it should be a function of the mail app and not the system...but there's no place in the mail app to set a sound (that I can find).

Basically, the system seems to have a problem, saying that "check username and password" for Yahoo, and "server not responding" for BT. Well, I do know my entry is correct, so I wondered whether (a) some servers don't link to my phone, or (b) I need to set a particular 'setting' some place.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI wanted to go to the play store on my tab to update an app I had but I couldn't connect to the store at all. So I went to the my account under the in the settings app and I saw that its been having some sync issues. I kept retrying the sync but it kept failing. So I deleted the account off of my tablet and tryed to log back in. Now it won't even log in and its telling me it can't establish a reliable connection to the server and takes me to the WiFi options in settings.
I dont know whats wrong. My internet works perfectly fine. I can surf the web, watch videos, download and even play apps that require an online connection on my tab but I can't use any Google services for some reason.
I just got my aria and love it. My problem is I have two yahoo accounts. One regular and one junk. How can I use both but in different ways. The regular I want notifications the other not. I have downloaded the yahoo app. Is there anyway to have two yahoo apps. The gmail is being used for important emails and the HTC mail is being used for work exchange mail so neither is available.

I'm trying to se up both my hotmail and yahoomail email accounts so as I can view my messages on my Desire but I'm not having any luck. When I go into Messages and enter my email and correct password I keep getting the message: 'Cannot connect to the mail server to verify your account information. Your server is not responding'.What do I have to do to sort this out? The HTC Desire online manual is very vague and brief with anything regarding troubleshooting.

So far, everything is going well and I'm getting used to the software and functionality. I do have one thing that has me stumped though. I setup my personal hotmail email and my work email on the phone and they are both under the "mail" icon on the main screen. I'm wondering if there is a way to separate them so that I will basically have 2 "mail" icons on the main screen.

I used to be able to open the email app (using icon), then go to menu key/Email settings/Default email account and I could radio button between my two accounts, both were options (yahoo and outlook). View 2 Replies View RelatedMoved from a droid x2 to a rasr maxx and have been unable to add one of my email account. I'm using the email app native to the rasr and get to the part where you tell it to go off and set up the account, where it cycles for about 45 seconds and then comes back with the message that it could not open connection.
I've made damn sure the account user name was correct as well as the password. Even did it twice, same result. Next I tried to manually set up the account and got the same damn error message. Now, I'm not sure that I had the port correct and I tried all of the security settings to no avail.
From BB to Droid I see there is huge difference on emails. Last night I was working with K-9 email.
I have 3 emails: Gmail working OK. Yahoo working OK (using K-9) and there is work account. I can receive emails OK but cannot send any out. Because I cannot use work SMTP server I went and enter my smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com port 587 require sign in. There are lots of errors: from push error: null / relay access denied / imap server is not idle capable... Can I have same SMTP under two accounts?
I will be buying the N1 on big red when it comes out (let's hope the March 23rd rumor is true). I know that you can access multiple G Mail accounts through the phone but does anyone know if you can have a G Mail and another account. I am a medical student and get important minute-to-minute emails about things for the hospital. The account I have through the school uses OWA and the school has dropped its ability to automatically forward emails to other accounts. Also, as much as I have tried, I can not get my GM ail account to import/retrieve emails from the OWA account. So I am hoping to have the .edu account and the G Mail account simultaneously. Any help would be provided from anyone currently using N1 on TMo. Even if you could test it by trying to set up another email with another POP 3 email server.

I have two non-Gmail accounts set up using the stock email program: one Yahoo Mail and the other for my domain. The email account for my domain is set up as the default, so when I start a new email, it comes from that account. However, I can not figure out how to switch to the Yahoo Mail account to compose and send email without making the Yahoo Mail account the default account. There has to be some way to open your inbox or send a new message without switching which account is the default everytime, or at least I would think so.

On the old phone I had all my email accounts, Exchange, Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail.I could open the mail app and see all accounts as a list and then select which account to access the new email as it would show which accounts had new mail. On the Eris, when I get a new email notification, I have no idea which email account the new mail is for. I have to open mail, then touch to open the pull down of accounts and then check each one , one by one until I dig out the new email. Is there an easier way to see all new mail in an overview list of all accounts on the Eris? All in all loving the phone after 48 hours but the email use seems clunky and slows down my productivity.
Do you think its worth setting up several accounts i.e. yahoo mail, gmail, home mail? I notice its going to grab all the new emails and it doesn't let you view your old ones, you would have to go into the Internet and into the email account to see those old ones. Also I want to prevent it from syncing with my email too often and only want to manually pull in my email.

The first time it happened I cleared the cache on HTC mail program and everything worked again, however that didn't work this time. I have no problem sending email through an active sync account.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having a very, very annoying problem that I hope someone smarter than me can help me with!
I have two email accounts setup under my Email on my Ally. So, when I select the Email button it takes me to a screen that has both of the accounts (which were working fine a couple days ago). The issue is happening on both accounts (one is yahoo and the other is my work outlook).
If I click on one of the accounts it takes me to the Inbox for that account. If I then subsequently select an email to read it takes me into that email. However, after a few seconds it automatically sends me back to the prior screen (Inbox for the account). Then, sometimes, it sends me back again to the Accounts selection screen.
I have changed the email refresh for both accounts to 5 minutes, so that should be long enough for me to read an email without it kicking me out of one. I turned on my wi-fi to connect to my home network yesterday, but have since turned off wi-fi (thinking that might have been the problem) and it is continuing to do the same thing.
On a side-note, if I open up my Gmail App (which is not an account in my Email app) it seems to work fine. I am at wits end so hopefully someone can give me some insight!
