Oct 13, 2009I have setup my gmail properly(gmail app), but for some reason it does not want to fetch my mail or if it does it does 20 mins later or so. Anyone else having this problem and i have hard reset and checked all settings for data sync. I have not seen this problem so i am thinking it a software problem. I just want to know if anyone has setup using gmail and is getting mail pushed to them right away. Also i know its not push mail but it suppose to come kinda close.

Apr 2, 2010I am new to the Android Universe (Picked up my Sprint HTC Hero yesterday)I have a question about google accounts and email sync.
1st, On my previous phone (Windows Mobile) I had my gmail account set up so that my email is "pushed" to my phone. I thought that the android phones were automatically set up to do that, or do I have to do something to get this to work. I only ask because it seems to take a while to receive emails on my phone.
2nd, Before I got the phone I was reading up on the features, and a lot of the posts I read made it seem like I could access my google reader section, saved maps, sync bookmarks, and anything else I had with my google account. But, I can't seem to figure out how to do this. The most I have figured out on the maps is latitude, and nothing else with reader, bookmarks, etc.

Jul 21, 2010just noticed that when i read my gmail from the phone, it doesn't mark it off as read when i check on the computer. also when i try to reply or send an email, it is just stuck there with a red "sending". anyone have any idea what is going on?

Jan 27, 2010Does anyone know of an app that can test what frequencies are being used in the area? I'm trying to figure out if something is interfering with my wireless router, and if so what it is. I've got "WiFi analyzer", but that doesn't show anything other than wireless signals directly from routers, even though a cordless phone runs on the same basic frequency.
In other words, I'd like to find an app that shows what frequencies are present near my phone, including what my phone is putting out. Is that possible?
HTC Incredible :: Way To Active Sync Download Past Email Settings?
May 31, 2010I did a quick search and didn't find anything, so I am hoping someone can help out. Currently, I can only choose between 1 day or 3 days for downloading past e-mails on my active-sync account. This is really inconvenient since it is a work account and I would like to have access to 30 days worth of email. Does anyone know of a way to increase the days for downloading past email beyond the factory settings?

May 17, 2010Just got the 2.1 OTA upgrade on my Eris. The mail client is stuck on "manual" for my Exchange account. I deleted the account and re-added it, but it still won't let me change it. I can select "as items arrive" or any of the other schedules, but as soon as I leave that screen and go back to it I find that it's set back to manual. Any ideas?

HTC Hero :: Email Sync Problems
Nov 9, 2009I'm having some issues with email syncing on my Hero. I like the HTC email app and widget, so I set up the Mail app to sync to my Gmail account via exchange (for the push functionality). Well, it does not work very well and sometimes not at all.
Here's some symptoms:
- If new emails do somehow make it to my phone, they are marked unread. I read them and they are then marked read. Then after about a minute, the phone syncs again, and they are then marked unread all over again. It's a continuous cycle until...
- The mail that does make it to my phone is sometimes randomly deleted. I verified this by logging into gmail from my computer and messages that were on my phone are now in the trash folder.
- Most mail does not even make it to my phone.
It started out working just fine for about 6 hours or so and then the problems began. I've tried deleting the account from the phone and starting fresh. It does the same thing even on a fresh account now.
I tried to just use the Gmail app since I was tired of trying to deal with it. The Gmail app does not push either. I have to manually sync it. It will never sync on its own. I have the option checked in data synchronization to sync gmail. Is there some other option I need to check to make sure that it pushes new mail?
All I want is to receive pushed email. I need the instant notification of new mail. I know that it is capable of doing this.

Sep 27, 2009I'm trying to receive an email using the HTC email app (not googlemail app) it's a 3.5mb .jpg image.After the refresh circle turns for a few minutes I get the message "Alert there is not enough Free memory to download this email".I turned the phone fully off and on again but still get the same message.Please tell me the Hero and Android can handle this?

May 18, 2010a little background info, rooted my first hero no problem using fresh kitchen, but ended up bricking my phone. got my new hero today from sprint, came home connected it up to 2 different computers to try and root it but in both cases both htc sync and kitchen dont see my phone, but i can run the tests in kitchen and see my sd card if i mount it.my build number is 1.56.651.2 cl85027 release-key and it says my hardware version is 002 if that helps.

Nov 30, 2009About a week ago I set up my Google Checkout account. I didn't have a specific app in mind at that point but I knew someday I would. Then I downloaded the free version of Robo Defense over the weekend. I decided to buy the full version this morning. After I clicked through the legalese and all that it gave me the usual "check your notification bar for download progress", but it hasn't done anything for 15 minutes or so. No download progress or anything, and the app isn't installed. Does it normally take a while to start the download of a paid app (or your first paid app)?

Oct 30, 2009I reset my Hero last night after I went on a APP downloading spree and my Hero got very laggy. Think it may have been the Task manager apps.
After resetting my apps won't download. They just stay in 'starting download'...hanging. Any ideas?
Everything else is fine as far as I can tell....Oh other than my keyboard sometimes produces an abnormal sound when hitting a key. Call me picky but it's starting to get on my nerves. That's something that did not go away with the reset.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Attachment And Download Storage
Dec 3, 2009Where do downloaded email attachments(documents, pdfs, etc..) get stored? My internal memory is at 70MB and if i recall correctly it was around 200+MB when i bought the phone. I put on apps, but not 130+MB worth, and my cache is clear. Any other ideas what might be eating up my internal storage?
