I just bought the Hero, which I love but so far I am not loving that the mic on my apple headphones does not work. Anyone else run into this? The headphones work so I can hear music and such but the mic isn't picking up anything. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just got a SE Xperia X10 and I'm just trying the headphones. I have a pair of Apple Headphones with inline mic in them and whenever i connect it to the phone, the sound is distorted. However with standard Apple Headphones, they're fine. Is something wrong with my device or is it something else?

I've looked into the bose headphones, but that's alot of money to go into some wired headphones.. Does anyone have them, can you say they're worth getting for that cash? I use my phone alot for music, so good headphones are important.
View 36 Replies View RelatedI've read around that the Apple headphones with the microphone do not work with the X. But all the threads I've read that from are from a while ago. What I've learned is that apparently other headphones with mics will work but these will not pickup your voice through the mic, and the volume and click buttons will not work. My question to you is, did anybody get these headphones to work with the mic and buttons? How did you get it to work? It seems to me that it is a software issue because other headphones will work, so has anybody configured there phone in a way to make it happen?

So far I totally love it, but there's this small issue that made me register and finally make a post here.
My previous phone was an Apple iPhone, but I dropped it so the screen broke, and I didn't bother with trying to fix it, so I decided to try something new.
Now, what I loved about the iPhone was the headset/handsfree that came with it. It's the best I've tried so far, and that's why I really wanna use it instead of the crap one Samsung bundled with the Galaxy.
Now here's the problem:
When I use the Apple headset with my Galaxy, the vocals on music doesn't play, unless I press and hold the answer/hang up/shuffle button on the handsfree. And because of this, it does ofcourse not work as a answer/hang up button. The bundled handsfree works as it should, with normal sound, and buttons.
I have no idea if this is a hardware 3.5mm issue, or a software issue, but all I know is the Apple headset works fine on my brother's HTC Hero, which makes me believe it's less likely to be a software issue.
I'm also reluctant of buying another handsfree, incase the Galaxy only works with the bundled one.
Oh, almost forgot, if it's of any use, I'm running the II5 firmware, updated through NPS.
Haven't been able to find any programs or info on being able to link my Spring Hero up to my Apple PowerBook to sync with my contact list, address book, and calendar. Are there any programs out there for this? I suppose I can do it the long way, and do some sort of export to my windows laptop, but would like to avoid this step if possible.
I looked long and hard at the iPhone vs. the Hero, and decided the Hero, besides having the obvious battery removal and SD expansion capabilities, would be open to more programs potential because of the open-source, linux-style OS.
I'm hoping that as time goes by, programs will be written to allow syncing with Apple computers, and OS X. It's hard to believe that almost nothing has been written in the forums on this subject. Please point me to any topics along this thread, or others in other forums if you know of them.
I was wondering what headphones users are using with the hero for listening, calling, volume control, etc.I am looking for an all in one type headphone.

Today at lunch, I am walking outside aneto into 7-11 andfeel my phon3 vibrare and then no sound throuth the headphones. It's like the headphones are muted. When headphones are plugged in there is no symbol showing heaephones are plugged in.
Just recently noticed my Hero is no longer recognizing my headphones.I've tried about four or five different pairs of phones to make sure the ones I had weren't bad, so that's not the problem.Anyone else ever encountered this problem?Also, I just got my phone around New Year's, so I'm obviously still under warranty.I went ahead and used the restore feature so my phone is back to stock instead of being rooted in an attempt to appear as if I haven't voided my warranty.

I hear phone ringing. They answer I hear them fine but they cannot hear me..Very frustrating especially since this is a business phone for me.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI went from a stock 1.5 to 2.1 using the Sprint 2.1 RUU and all is well. I understand it's a dev build and as such is already root but when I trying installing android-wifi-tether (both 2.0 and 1.6) it all looks well except when I touch the icon to start and it fails. The 1.6 version did report I didn't have root.
What do I need to do in ADB/shell to ensure the proper permissions are there for AWT? This is the last thing I want to get working and I'm happy.
Do I need to remount the filesystem as rw? Add superuser? Not sure what's needed.
Also, if they work, how do I check on my phone that it is detecting the external microphone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my pair of UE600vi earbuds with a mic and in-line controller.
Everything works as expected (so no volume control), but what I didn't expect was that the built-in mic doesn't seem to work properly. When the cable is plugged in properly I get audio in a call, but the person on the other side of the line says he can't hear anything.. However, if I take the plug out a bit so that one black ring is out of the plug the mic seems to work,(probably because the mic is disabled and it uses the phone mic..) but I only get audio to one earbud.
I contacted Logitech which said that they can do nothing and that it's Android's problem.. However some people say that they've had no problems with apple-optimized headsets apart from the volume buttons.

So my understanding is that you have to insert a headphone jack to listen to it and it won't work with the bluetooth headphones. If that's the case then it sucks as I really wanted to use my BT headphones.

I've only gotten it to work once and I have no idea how I did it...When the headphones are plugged in I can hear the caller but they can't hear me, but once I unplug the headphones the normal mic input on the phone works correctly and the caller can hear me just fine. Ok when I download or upload my music from a cd, the album artwork never shows up in itunes for me. So I usually have to manually copy album Pics from the net and paste them in the info section. However my hero either doesn't show the artwork or replaces my pic with some other random artwork pic. Anyone experience this and know how to fix this?

when i download ringtones they come in as .dm files. how do i get them to work. i used to just go to the Internet and get them from the download history, but i lost all that when i ruled my phone. i have astro but can not play them from my card, so i can not add them as ringtones.
