My alarm clock on the HERO doesnt work now, i set the alarm but it doesnt go off. Seemingly it might be an app which is stopping it from working? is it possible=? and also how might i find out which app it is thats stopping it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently noticed that my Sprint HTC Hero (Stock and unrooted) has been receiving texts in a weird way. I doesnt notify me when the screen is off. If I turn on the screen I will receive notification as soon as I turn the screen on, but when I look at the time stamp it is usually old. Like 5 minutes or so. It doesnt do this all the time, just today I left my phone in my car (so I could charge it) while I was at work when I went out to my car the light was blinking and when i turned on the screen it said I had 2 texts, however, just as I get off work I responed back to my friends and when I got home when I looked at the phone nothing was going on. I turn the screen on and then my phone vibrates and notifies me but the time stamp on the text is 10 minutes old.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo just yesterday 12-1-09 my phone stopped receiving text messages and phone calls. People try to call me and get 4 rings then voicemail. My phone doesnt ring at all. I can place calls and browse the internet, run sprint navigation and all my apps just fine. It has been a perfect phone ever since I bought it. (11-01-09). I did a factory Hard Reset and still my phone didnt receive calls. Called Sprint and they had me turn off my phone and refreshed some info. Had to change the MSID # when i turned my phone back on but still nothing. Has anyone else had this happen to them. The only way I can receive my text messages is if I place a call then they seem to come through.

I went from a stock 1.5 to 2.1 using the Sprint 2.1 RUU and all is well. I understand it's a dev build and as such is already root but when I trying installing android-wifi-tether (both 2.0 and 1.6) it all looks well except when I touch the icon to start and it fails. The 1.6 version did report I didn't have root.
What do I need to do in ADB/shell to ensure the proper permissions are there for AWT? This is the last thing I want to get working and I'm happy.
Do I need to remount the filesystem as rw? Add superuser? Not sure what's needed.
The GF says my EVO is too big, and I now got her off her BB and into a hero. So, I will be popping in here and there and wanted to say hi.First steps:

Ok when I download or upload my music from a cd, the album artwork never shows up in itunes for me. So I usually have to manually copy album Pics from the net and paste them in the info section. However my hero either doesn't show the artwork or replaces my pic with some other random artwork pic. Anyone experience this and know how to fix this?

So i go to were it directed me to when you click on google ^ USB Driver for Windows | Android Developers I download the sdk which i thought i already had on my computer (so watever) I follow all the instructions and some from TheUnlockr.com - Cell Phone How To's, Phone Reviews, and Wireless News! Is the reason why it wont work because im rooted(using fresh 2.0)?
when i download ringtones they come in as .dm files. how do i get them to work. i used to just go to the Internet and get them from the download history, but i lost all that when i ruled my phone. i have astro but can not play them from my card, so i can not add them as ringtones.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have set up the Google Voice App to link to my Google voice account and I select the "ask to use google voice for each call" and the "always use google voice" options and neither work. There is no way to place calls within the app, and when I use the phone app nothing happens. I have no idea what to do. Figured out you can only do that using your contacts. Seems pretty limited, even the generic iphone app could dial direct. Oh well, maybe they will update in the future.

Please verify your username and password."I have tried using the settings that google has on the website and the school doesn't have anything about setting up an email on a phone ( any phone).I tried changing the server to imap.grcc.edu and I had to confirm the certificate but then it gave the error again. I also tried taking the @email.grcc.edu from the username and that didn't work either. I am really frustrated right now. And no, I do not want to forward it to my other email. I like to keep my school and personal emails separate. Sorry if I sound a bit mean but I know that's what some of you will ask me.
