Mar 25, 2010Just wondering if any apps I have installed now might stop working on 2.1. Or is pretty much everything backward compatible with no updates required?

Jul 5, 2010I want to change my rom and backup my apps before I do so but EVERY app i've tried for this does not work. I've tried titanium, my apps, and astro... they all failed to back up my stuff. Any suggestions? do I even need to back them up or will they survive the flash?

Basically Im going to Italy soon and want to know if any of these things will work while Im over there to help me along and not be charge some extra fee. I dont plan to make any calls with it.

For example, the following programs were pre-installed:
Amazon MP3
Footprints
Teeter
And maybe some others.
I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?
Sprint TV
Sprint-Nextel
NFL
Nascar
Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
Sprint HTC Hero :: Getting Android-Wifi - Tether To Work With Sprint 2.1 RUU
Apr 17, 2010I went from a stock 1.5 to 2.1 using the Sprint 2.1 RUU and all is well. I understand it's a dev build and as such is already root but when I trying installing android-wifi-tether (both 2.0 and 1.6) it all looks well except when I touch the icon to start and it fails. The 1.6 version did report I didn't have root.
What do I need to do in ADB/shell to ensure the proper permissions are there for AWT? This is the last thing I want to get working and I'm happy.
Do I need to remount the filesystem as rw? Add superuser? Not sure what's needed.

Nov 8, 2009Ok when I download or upload my music from a cd, the album artwork never shows up in itunes for me. So I usually have to manually copy album Pics from the net and paste them in the info section. However my hero either doesn't show the artwork or replaces my pic with some other random artwork pic. Anyone experience this and know how to fix this?

So i go to were it directed me to when you click on google ^ USB Driver for Windows | Android Developers I download the sdk which i thought i already had on my computer (so watever) I follow all the instructions and some from TheUnlockr.com - Cell Phone How To's, Phone Reviews, and Wireless News! How To: Set Up ADB/USB Drivers for Android Devices | The Unlockr and it wont work.
Is the reason why it wont work because im rooted(using fresh 2.0)?

Jul 19, 2010when i download ringtones they come in as .dm files. how do i get them to work. i used to just go to the Internet and get them from the download history, but i lost all that when i ruled my phone. i have astro but can not play them from my card, so i can not add them as ringtones.
