Motorola Droid X :: Apple Headphones With Mic / Buttons?

Nov 13, 2010

I've read around that the Apple headphones with the microphone do not work with the X. But all the threads I've read that from are from a while ago. What I've learned is that apparently other headphones with mics will work but these will not pickup your voice through the mic, and the volume and click buttons will not work. My question to you is, did anybody get these headphones to work with the mic and buttons? How did you get it to work? It seems to me that it is a software issue because other headphones will work, so has anybody configured there phone in a way to make it happen?

Motorola Droid :: Ear Headphones With Mic - Apple Headphones And Bose

Jun 11, 2010

Is there a pair of in the ear headphones with mic that's in between the apple headphones and bose ones? I've looked into the bose headphones, but that's alot of money to go into some wired headphones.. Does anyone have them, can you say they're worth getting for that cash? I use my phone alot for music, so good headphones are important.

Samsung I7500 :: Apple Headphones On Galaxy - Problems With Sound

Oct 8, 2009

I've been reading these forums for a while now, and some of these posts are the reason I got a Galaxy myself, imported from Germany

So far I totally love it, but there's this small issue that made me register and finally make a post here.

My previous phone was an Apple iPhone, but I dropped it so the screen broke, and I didn't bother with trying to fix it, so I decided to try something new.
Now, what I loved about the iPhone was the headset/handsfree that came with it. It's the best I've tried so far, and that's why I really wanna use it instead of the crap one Samsung bundled with the Galaxy.

Now here's the problem:
When I use the Apple headset with my Galaxy, the vocals on music doesn't play, unless I press and hold the answer/hang up/shuffle button on the handsfree. And because of this, it does ofcourse not work as a answer/hang up button. The bundled handsfree works as it should, with normal sound, and buttons.

I have no idea if this is a hardware 3.5mm issue, or a software issue, but all I know is the Apple headset works fine on my brother's HTC Hero, which makes me believe it's less likely to be a software issue.

I'm also reluctant of buying another handsfree, incase the Galaxy only works with the bundled one.

Oh, almost forgot, if it's of any use, I'm running the II5 firmware, updated through NPS.

Motorola : Droid X Scares - Apple Tried To Cover Bad AT&T Coverage

Jul 5, 2010

I have been using a LG Voyager (Christmas gift) and a 32gb Ipod touch for the last 2 years biding my time, loathing my 2 year contract and waiting for the release of the Iphone 4 but then the droid X was announced and have spent my time since obsessing over previews, reviews, specs, hands on Youtube videos, news articles and everything Android. And this is the conclusion I have come to.

I have been following Droid X news and reviews hardcore for the last 3 weeks as well as Apple/Iphone 4 news.
Apple is desperately trying to maintain the crown while the castle walls crumble around them. The Droid X truly is the first of I'm sure many Android contenders coming within the next 2 years. Unlike the Evo 4g it is on the Verizon network and packs more features and stability than any other phone with the exception of the Iphone that finishes first only by a spider hair.

In the past 2 weeks Apple has dispatched "rumor spys" to announce "IPHONE COMING TO VERIZON!!"

Yeah well we've been hearing that for a year now. But I am actually certain this time the rumors ARE true. But the point is the usually secretive "Apple" all the sudden has leaks just in time for the Droid X release.

Today I read that Apple has said that the antenna issue isn't the problem. They say it was a "flaw" with Iphone software displaying better reception (more bars) than there actually was and that when bridging the wifi and cell antennas touching the two at once users were displaying the "actual" coverage. Well this tells us two things.
1. Apple knew that AT&t had sub par coverage that wouldn't be able to handle data heavy phones and it would show.
2. Apple tried to cover the bad AT&T coverage by making the coverage look better than it is.
Why would they do that you ask? Well think about it. When the Iphone 1g was first released there weren't many "smart phones" that also included the multimedia hand held entertainment aspect. You had Blackberry that did a lot of innovative business things but lacked any real fun. Then along came the admittedly awesome, futuristic, and fun Iphone with tons of apps and features.

The phone was expensive for its time and no matter how much the phone could do it would be hard to do all the great things in less than a month especially on a completely new un matured product. So imagine you go buy this Iphone and you know you have 30 days to see whether you like it but the first thing you notice is all the places the phone doesn't get reception. The last thing Apple wanted was bad press at a time when the whole world was lauding their greatness. Another news story that broke today was that an app maker had figured out how to hack into the Itunes App Market and charge random Itunes users for his products thus launching 40 of his apps to top status. Apple just got around to fixing this problem even though it has been ongoing for some time. Well all the secrets are coming out now. And Apple is scrambling while the bad news keeps coming and they watch their stock plummet as fast as Ilemmings off a cliff and into the ocean. But none of this recent disaster is Apple's biggest problem. The problem is while all this bad Apple press is lingering Iphone competitors sporting an ever improving Android operating system are releasing innovative envelope pushing products every month while Apple and mac fanatics will be waiting at least 1 1/2 to 2 years respectively for Apples next Iphone hardware update that will again be adding new "original features" to compete with the technological competition that came since it's last game of catch up.

Motorola Droid : Roots Require Using Command Prompt In Windows On Apple IBook?

Sep 27, 2010

Im new to the forums here, I have a Droid currently running Froyo and I have been thinking about rooting my phone. I recently picked up and Apple IBook G3 and I was curious if I will have any problems rooting on the Apple OSX. The main reason I'm asking is because I have noticed that some roots require using the command prompt in Windows. I did search the forums for anything I could find but didn't really find anything useful.

The root I am planning on using is Soup or Root. This will be my first endeavor in to Rooting. PS- Mods if I posted this in the wrong place please move it to the correct one

Motorola Droid : Need Inline Remote Headphones

Loving my new Droid, but having a bit of a problem with the media playback. Once I get a track playing, and the screen is off, it is a major hassle when I want to simply pause for a second to talk to someone. I have to press button, swipe open, then press pause. The way I solved this on the iPod Touch was using the earbuds with the inline remote (even has a mic to use for calls in the iPhone). I am looking for a similar set up earbuds for the Droid, any suggestions?

Motorola Droid :: Headphones Crackling - Hardware Or Software?

Feb 7, 2010

I have a problem on my droid where when I use headphones it crackles and is really annoying. I have a pair of Bose over the ear headphones that have no issue on any other source however on the droid the crackling make me want to throw it across the room. Although many would jump to hardware, the catch is that it is only on random songs and the same ones each time. So it does it randomly on pandora on the same songs every time and not on any in my library but the actual external speaker will crackle on random ones as well. Maybe it will be addressed in 2.1? I know about the one at max volume but this is very different.

Motorola Droid :: Bluetooth Headphones Sennheiser MM200

Jan 14, 2010

I'm having some totally inexplicable trouble with a pair of Sennheiser MM200 Bluetooth headphones I just picked up.When I first got them set up, they paired just fine with my Moto Droid (latest firmware, 2.0.1). I was able to listen to music great, talk on the phone, etc., for a few hours. Then for no reason they became disconnected. I checked the bluetooth status and it said they were "Paired but not connected". I tried connecting, but it would simply say "Could not connect".So, I unpaired them and started the headphones up on pairing mode again. Now, the Droid can't even detect them, at all.

This went on permanently. I restarted the Droid, pulled the battery, turned bluetooth on and off, paired it to another bluetooth device, I even reformatted the damn thing! STILL can't see my MM200 headset! What's worse is that my wife's BlackBerry Storm can see them and pair with them just fine! Every time. But to my Droid, they have become completely invisible.
