General :: Making Apple Optimized Headset Mic Work On Android?
Aug 15, 2011I just got my pair of UE600vi earbuds with a mic and in-line controller.
Everything works as expected (so no volume control), but what I didn't expect was that the built-in mic doesn't seem to work properly. When the cable is plugged in properly I get audio in a call, but the person on the other side of the line says he can't hear anything.. However, if I take the plug out a bit so that one black ring is out of the plug the mic seems to work,(probably because the mic is disabled and it uses the phone mic..) but I only get audio to one earbud.
I contacted Logitech which said that they can do nothing and that it's Android's problem.. However some people say that they've had no problems with apple-optimized headsets apart from the volume buttons.

Now, it boots the ROM from the external (but that's an other story).
Camera needs storage0 (internal storage) to work properly for DCIM. But I have only storage1 (inserted microsd). In 2.3.6 swap sd was possible by editing vold.fstab. In Kitkat the opportunity has been denied.
I search for a way to make storage1 to storage0 in CM11. Whether CyanogenMod is working on it?

General :: Write Only Access To Internal / External SDCard On Kitkat
Jun 2, 2014I am using a mt6582m device with kitkat 4.4.2 with supersu. I can use root to write to system, data and cache using es file explorer, can also read and write to any sd card, but apps like titanium backup, online android backup, ram expander can't read/write to sd card.
Eg.1: ti backup read backups, can do all operation except backup and restore.
I had read a lot, changing backup path didn't worked nor any odex file is there. Using v6.1.5.6.
Eg. 2: ram expander can create swap file on sd but can read it saying 'not found'. Swap can be used with cache partition.
Eg. 3: online nandroid backup says pat not vaild.
I had tried, sd fix app, manually editing platform.xml, xposed module to 'handel external storage', change permissions using es file explorer, editing ramdisk.
There is storage/sdcard0 and 1
Also mnt/sdcard and mnt/sdcard2 (symlinked)
Also mnt/media_rw/sdcard0 and 1 (not readable even in es file explorer)

Feb 11, 2014I have a Nexus 5. If I choose a custom notification sound in hangouts, for example, that is an .mp3 file, I would get the word "Silent" underneath the sound setting. The same goes for ringtones, but the word that shows underneath Phone ringtone in settings would be "None". I've tried putting the file under the Ringtone folder and it still wouldn't work. How do I get custom sounds to work on KitKat/Nexus 5? It can be set all the way up and nothing would happen.

I may wait for the Samsung Captivate, but am wary about how it will stack up, particularly when it comes to the feel of the touchscreen compared other handsets. (The sensitivity of the touchscreen on my 3GS is one of the biggest factors that has kept me from switching so far.)
My Question:
Aside from the Nexus One and Milestone (international version), what other high-end Android handsets can be used in one way or another on AT&T's 3G frequencies?
Would the Incredible, Evo, or Droid X support 850MHz and 1900MHz if they are SIM unlocked?
As I am still catching up when it comes to Android, due to lack of a selection of devices to play around with at AT&T.
