I have been trying to send a text message to an email adress using handcent but haven't been able to? Is it possible to do this? I also thought that I read that you could do this using the stock messaging app, but haven't been able to figure out how to do it there either. Does anyone know how to do this, or have any suggestions on other apps that can.

I tried searching for an answer to this, but had no luck. I've just ditched the stock Messaging App for Handcent and am really liking it (as many have here have said). BUT, when I send an MMS or even a simple text, I can't seem to send to email addresses that I had saved (I typically send to some phones and emails at the same time). I could do this with the stock app. Any ideas for me...I feel dizzy from looking through all the Handcent options and can't find anything.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.
Is there a way to copy text from a Email and paste it into Handcent ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI haven't had a problem with my email accounts from the time I got my Hero almost two months ago until yesterday. It is a hotmail account and as of yesterday I'm getting a notification that hotmail can not send a message. I rarely use hotmail to send messages, only to receive messages 90% of the time. I'm not sure what could have happened but its kinda bugging me.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I send camera shots via email using HTC's Mail application, the photos are not readable by most recipients (except, interestingly enough, by my wife on her blackberry). Same photos sent by the gmail app are fine. The photos appear as attachments, but they cannot be viewed and when the recipient tries to download, a jpg that is only a fraction of the total size is saved and that file is not viewable either.

View 10 Replies View Relatedi have handcent as my default sms app which is alot better then the stock one. When i get a sms i have the pop up enabled (after you unlock the handset). but not to show the keyboard. This works ok but when i press the white square to reply - the text you received does not move to the top of the screen so you cant see what your typing or you cant press send as there hidden by the keyboard. The only way you can see that is when you have finished is to press the back button (that closes the keyboard) and then you can also press the send button. If i have the keboard to pop up automatically when i get a txt....i only see the top line of writing / send button!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Handcent from the Android market. This is a great application for sending sms's and mms's, but when I send a message it is delivered twice. That is because the default message application is still installed on the phone and the message is therefor automatically send through Handcent and the default message app. Can I delete the default message app from my phone without corrupting the software on the phone? I don't want to implement the factory reset on my phone, have too many apps that I don't want to loose or reinstall.

View 18 Replies View RelatedOkay so I have a friend who has no phone so best way to talk to him is send him an email. I used to have a blackberry and I just added his email address as a contact and display name was also his email address to keep it simple. I would then do new sms and I can make him a recipient and it works just fine. Now I'm trying the same technique with my evo but when I do a new text message he doesn't show up cuz he has no phone nbr only an email address. So I have to manually type his long email address every time I want to send him a msg. I've tried using chompsms and handcent but no luck. so any ideas on how i can make the process easier and not have to type his email every time?

Now it doesn't update once I receive the emails or make a sound.. I have it so it supposed to but still does not. View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using handcent and have disabled the message notifications in the stock messaging application but what i still get is a pop-up message window from the stock app showing the message and i can reply in that app if i wish, however, handcent widget will still show one unread sms message and i would have to go read the message via handcent to get rid of the new sms icon etc.
Of course I could ignore the stock app's pop-up window and close it, go to hancent and read / reply that way but what i want is just visual and audible notifications from hancent. I don't want the stock messaging app to do anything at all. (T-mobile G2 on Version 1.5)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Hero for about a month now, and ever since, I've had to reset it twice; once because I couldn't receive a call, and the second time because it was stuck on a notification sound and wouldn't change, no matter what.
The problem now is that I cannot send a picture message. I constantly get an error message saying that the 'message format is corrupted'. I've tried to take this issue to my carrier's tech support team only to discover I'm having yet another issue: a few of my contacts get deleted if I try to use HTC Sync to back my contacts list up so that I can preform a master reset.
