HTC Hero :: Cannot Send A Picture Message

I've had my Hero for about a month now, and ever since, I've had to reset it twice; once because I couldn't receive a call, and the second time because it was stuck on a notification sound and wouldn't change, no matter what.
The problem now is that I cannot send a picture message. I constantly get an error message saying that the 'message format is corrupted'. I've tried to take this issue to my carrier's tech support team only to discover I'm having yet another issue: a few of my contacts get deleted if I try to use HTC Sync to back my contacts list up so that I can preform a master reset.

I recently bought a HTC Hero with sprint. i took a picture and tried to send it via text message..i receive error of " Message size limit reached...sorry, you cannot attach this your message" Also, i cannot view a picture message sent to me. i tried also saving it to my 4gb card but cannot find where to view the files in my sd card...

It probably is a stupid question to ask (once again, Nugget = techtarded), but how do I send a picture message? I usually message through Chomp, but I don't see a way to send a picture message.

however I have never dl'd quick settings. Second was an HTC bug that was being worked on. Can anyone confirm any of this, and if they have had picture txt problems is there a fix other than factory reset?

I used to snap a pic on my Samsung Sway, was given the option to send in a message, then it resized and off it went. How do I snap a pic and send in a message on my incredible? I have the manual downloaded and printed all 206 pages and still don't understand the resizing.

Just got my incredible yesterday and I am very pleased. I've answered mosy my questions searching, but one thing I cannot solve. I am using handcent messaging which I like due to the "bubbles", but each time I try to send a picture, there is a failure message.

2: how do I send a picture sms message?
Also are there any apps out there that will let me download full length mp3's? And did I get a bad battery or does the HTC Eris battery only last a couple hours? Also my phone is an HTC droid eris. Oh and one last question i heard that the eris will be updated from android 1.5 to 2.0 Will that be a software update that I will be able to do with my 2 day old eris when The update comes out?

Does anyone have pic text messaging issues? I get an error message "unable to send message. Retrying generic network failure"
I have handcent, but get the same error message with stock messaging app.
The only things I could find within the incredible forums was that it may be linked to a app bug, which that specific app I have never used, or this is a known HTC error which I can't confirm.

How do you send picturemail with the HTC Hero? I used to do this with my old phone all the time. You see something interesting, snap a photo, and quickly send it to a friend.With the Hero, when I select a photo, and try to "Share" it via a "Message", it always says, "Message size limit reached. Sorry, you cannot attach this to your message."I guess this is because the filesize is so large (5 megapixels!)

Today i tried to do something that i used to do back in my Alias 2 days (regular cellphone), but couldn't.
Can i record a simple voice message and send it via MMS? It was pretty simple to do with a cell phone...
I saw that the eris comes with a voice recorder, but i recorded a message and was not able to send it.
Any ideas?
Also, when sending pictures via MMS, it always resizes them and obviously the person receiving doesn't get the same quality. I realize that sending via Gmail doesn't resize, but i send to other cell phones a lot.
I'm thinking the only fix is lowering the camera resolution? I think that lowering the resolution is still better than having it resized for the message. Has anyone tried lowering the resolution to a point that the picture does not need to be resized for MMS?
Same thing for Video messages.. can't even send them. Not sure if it's HAndcent, or the file is just to big

I have an HTC Hero Sprint, phone. My service provider is not sprint, i live in Alaska and have ACS as my provider. I was told that my phone will not do picture messaging, and that it was a phone limitation not a network one. Other users have picture messaging on their blackberries. Can someone recommend a good app for SMS and MMS that might allow me to send picture messages.

One problem, everytime i send a picture message to my friends they only get "Message Corrupt" and they cant open it. One of my friends has a 'Desire' and he can open it fine. i can recieve pic messages ok. Have spoke to my service provider, they cant help me at all. They did try for 2 hrs this morning. I have 14 days to leave this phone back, it would be a shame to leave this back because of a messaging problem. but i will as picture messaging adds a bit of fun to your phone.

I can't seem to send picture messages on my UK Three Hero.It looks like the message has gone and it shows the time send but the other person just doesn't receive it.If I go into my conversation there does appear to be a speech box with a timer at the side of it. What on earth does that mean?

Have any of you have success sending a picture to multiple contacts at once? I use Handcent Sms for my texts. I tried once and it didn't send anything. All I saw was the little green icon to the right of the text loading and loading like it was trying to send it. I tried to send a pic to 3 people at once. I canceled the picture and tried to individually send the picture and it wouldn't do it. I had kill the app and turn my Hero off and turn it back on in order for it to work.

Why am I not able to send Picture messages? Every time I try to send a picture through text messaging, it says I cannot do it. Why? I downloaded Handcent App and I would love to use it, but When I do use it, I get text messages sent to the App I downloaded, and to the default text messaging that came with the hero. How can I make my text messages only send to Handcent SMS instead of Both? I'm new at having a cell phone that has so much you can do with it, so I will probably have tons of more questions, but these are the 2 questions that I would love to be figured out first and then eventually I will ask others when I have them.

So today I got a message from a friend and in the message log it just tells me who it's from, the file size and when it expires. I have an option to download it but it fails every time. I doesn't give me any details that I know of it just says it was unsuccessful. The weird thing is that yesterday I got a pic from the same person and it worked fine, thumbnail and everything. What can I do to get this picture? Or make it work correctly in the future? They say they sent it the same way as the day before.

I am wondering if you guys have found a way to send or receive mms on your heroes and what version of android yours is running. Mine is running 1.5 and is the round hero, not the newest one. I also cannot find a place anywhere to send mms. Also, how do I snap a picture of my current screen, or do I need an app for that?

My wife and I both have HTC Hero's (Sprint) and recently have been having problems sending and receiving pictures in our text (from each other as well as other people) If I send a picture to her, her phone will vibrate and the notification light will blink, but nothing will show up.
Now if I send a second picture the first one will show up on her phone, and if I send a third, the second one shows up and on and on. It happens the same way if she tries to send me a picture. The phones worked fine when we bought them in December. This problem has just started in the last month.

Took update and all is well, however i now notice if i want to attach a pic to my text the app says too big to send. I looked in setting seems there is a 1 meg limit. Handcent would autosize the pic so I could send. So my question is can I change the setting in the native app or just revert back to handcent.

I had installed a mobile defense guardian? App the other day, forget if that was the exact name and noticed after that. That I wasn't getting picture messages to show up right away anymore, now it seems like they have to send the same picture 2 or 3 times before it will actually download and I can view it. Wondering if there is some known issue or a fix to get it back to normal and working right again. I'm looking at one now and it just says it's downloading, never leaves that, doesn't show a picture.

I haven't had a problem with my email accounts from the time I got my Hero almost two months ago until yesterday. It is a hotmail account and as of yesterday I'm getting a notification that hotmail can not send a message. I rarely use hotmail to send messages, only to receive messages 90% of the time. I'm not sure what could have happened but its kinda bugging me.

I have been trying to send a text message to an email adress using handcent but haven't been able to? Is it possible to do this? I also thought that I read that you could do this using the stock messaging app, but haven't been able to figure out how to do it there either. When I send text messages to individual it sends them as plain SMS, this works with my free allocation of texts.When I send text messages to a group (a list of 7 individuals) it sends them as 7 "Picture Messages" - this costs me money!. The message has no pictures and is short?How can I force the phone to not send picture messages?

My problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.
