Handcent would autosize the pic so I could send. So my question is can I change the setting in the native app or just revert back to handcent.

I have handcent, but get the same error message with stock messaging app.
The only things I could find within the incredible forums was that it may be linked to a app bug, which that specific app I have never used, or this is a known HTC error which I can't confirm.
So today I got a message from a friend and in the message log it just tells me who it's from, the file size and when it expires. I have an option to download it but it fails every time. I doesn't give me any details that I know of it just says it was unsuccessful. The weird thing is that yesterday I got a pic from the same person and it worked fine, thumbnail and everything. What can I do to get this picture? Or make it work correctly in the future? They say they sent it the same way as the day before.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I both have HTC Hero's (Sprint) and recently have been having problems sending and receiving pictures in our text (from each other as well as other people) If I send a picture to her, her phone will vibrate and the notification light will blink, but nothing will show up.
Now if I send a second picture the first one will show up on her phone, and if I send a third, the second one shows up and on and on. It happens the same way if she tries to send me a picture. The phones worked fine when we bought them in December. This problem has just started in the last month.
I had installed a mobile defense guardian? App the other day, forget if that was the exact name and noticed after that. That I wasn't getting picture messages to show up right away anymore, now it seems like they have to send the same picture 2 or 3 times before it will actually download and I can view it. Wondering if there is some known issue or a fix to get it back to normal and working right again. I'm looking at one now and it just says it's downloading, never leaves that, doesn't show a picture.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo last night i had my phone sitting on my dresser while i watched the dodger game about 2 hours later when i picked it up and attempted to check face book, it kept giving me error messages. Convinced that this was another stupid FB error i went to surf the web only to say I was not connected to a network. I looked at the top of my phone and i had 3 bars but next to there bars there was no 1x or EV signal just the bars. I went into my settings and un clicked the mobile network and then clicked it again and it worked This has happened to me about 4 or 5 times since i owned the hero since December. Anyone have any similar stories or explanations? Also sometimes it seems that when my phone is sleeping, i wont get text messages until i unlock it?

It is not allowing me to use the phone at all, it says no service. Even the sprint website has my phone greyed out as if it don't exist. Now if I do a hard reset, everything comes back on, but I lose everything. This is my second Hero and I am hoping that there is a fix. I went to HTC email support site to try and get a solution and it is down, getting really frustrated with this phone. I downloaded apps from the market and transfered music to the sd card.
My phone was almost dead today so I just turned it off. When I got home and plugged it in and turned it back on I didn't have any service. It says no service. I have turned it on and off several times and have taken the battery out and put it back several times and nothing works. I have only had the phone for approximately 3 days. Anything I can do to fix it myself? I can't even pull up the phone pad or certain settings because I get an error message. I called technical support but because I can't get to the phone pad they can't help me.

I saw that the eris comes with a voice recorder, but i recorded a message and was not able to send it.

Also, when sending pictures via MMS, it always resizes them and obviously the person receiving doesn't get the same quality. I realize that sending via Gmail doesn't resize, but i send to other cell phones a lot.
I'm thinking the only fix is lowering the camera resolution? I think that lowering the resolution is still better than having it resized for the message. Has anyone tried lowering the resolution to a point that the picture does not need to be resized for MMS?
Same thing for Video messages.. can't even send them. Not sure if it's HAndcent, or the file is just to big
I am having is when I try to send a picture through picture message I get an error saying message size limit reached, you cannot attach this to your message. So in order to send a picture this way do I have to either:
a. change my camera settings to lower resolution?
b. is there a program or setting to automatically send a smaller image and keep my high res photo?
Obviously I would prefer option B as this camera rocks and takes some good pics.
I've had my Hero for about a month now, and ever since, I've had to reset it twice; once because I couldn't receive a call, and the second time because it was stuck on a notification sound and wouldn't change, no matter what.
The problem now is that I cannot send a picture message. I constantly get an error message saying that the 'message format is corrupted'. I've tried to take this issue to my carrier's tech support team only to discover I'm having yet another issue: a few of my contacts get deleted if I try to use HTC Sync to back my contacts list up so that I can preform a master reset.
I'm experiencing an error on my facebook "APP" that says something to the effect of "application request limit". Does anybody know what this means?

I tap and hold down on the widget to select it so I can move it to the "remove" button at the bottom of the screen. Well when I tap and hold I get a forced error close message. Any ideas what I need to do to correct this issue. I'm using the original messaging app, and only have 3 other non related apps downloaded.

View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday (which was the last day of the month), I got a message in the browser saying that I had reached my data limit. It would not load anything. It would still access data over Facebook, Twidroid and Sportstrack, but not the browser. Today, all is fine. So, was that message just in error, or does it sound as if I actually hit my limit? I heard around here that they were not really going to be monitoring the usage unless you were on the business plan. I suppose I could find out if I could see my total usage numbers, if I was around the 5 GB mark.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI am new to the forums, hoping someone is able to assist me with some Exchange Server Contact sync problems. We are running Exchange 2007 (w/ SSL) and my mail and calendars sync no problem. But when it does the contacts, I get the error "Synchronization is experiencing problems" with no further message to the error. I have tried over WiFi and with the carriers network. This is on a fresh wipe of the device, I have tried deleting and re-adding the exchange account to the device but with the same error. I get approx 6 of my 325 contacts synced.
