I sent a text message and then i got an alert saying Handcent had to force close, so I did but when I went back into the app all my threads were gone not cool. Anyone else have this problem? Should i just use the stock messaging system?

Whenever I try to send a text message with three or more recipients, the messaging app does a force close. Anyone else get this or have a solution to the problem?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.
i have handcent as my default sms app which is alot better then the stock one. When i get a sms i have the pop up enabled (after you unlock the handset). but not to show the keyboard. This works ok but when i press the white square to reply - the text you received does not move to the top of the screen so you cant see what your typing or you cant press send as there hidden by the keyboard. The only way you can see that is when you have finished is to press the back button (that closes the keyboard) and then you can also press the send button. If i have the keboard to pop up automatically when i get a txt....i only see the top line of writing / send button!

Everytime I try to delete my messages from the inbox, the app force closes and when i go back to the app, it'll keep force closing until I shut the phone down. When I turn the phone back on, all my messages are still in the inbox. How I can erase the text messages from my inbox?

This was a major blow to me as I coach a softball team and have to send out a text message to 15 or more people every week. It worked before Froyo but not anymore.
Handcent allows this, so I switched over to it. But now I am getting double notifications when I receive a text message. How do I turn "off" the stock text messaging app?
So when I have my phone on vibrate setting I can feel it when someone calls me. I have Handcent btw if that makes a difference. But when I have the phone on vibrate and I get a text it doesnt vibrate?I have looked and cant find a fix.

I keep trying to attach pictures using Handcent. Keeps telling me pictures are too large and resizing. Then it always force closes handcent. I increased maximum MMS size to 1M. Never had this problem til after the update. Have done a factory reset. Only thing I have not done is uninstall Handcent and reinstall. Anybody else having his issue?

View 11 Replies View RelatedFound out yesterday that my "computer" is not sending text messages (using the native app). It caused an argument between my wife and I, and about damn-near caused a divorce. The bad thing is that, from what I can tell, it hasn't been sending ANY for a couple of days now. (Notice I didn't say that a potential divorce was not the bad thing ) I can receive texts all day long, not able to send them. In the time that I wasn't able to send them, I wasn't receiving any notifications that the text wasn't sent! I can go into the app, menu > undelivered and see 2 dozen texts there. Why am I not getting a failure notification if I have "Failure Notification" checked in the settings?
Because it went on for so long before being noticed, I have no way of knowing if I screwed around with the settings or if an app I downloaded has caused the problem. I've been tempted to use Handcent, but I'm leery about using something that radically changes the interface when I am a new Superphone and new Android user. Besides, it may not fix the problem.
So, is there a way to send a text message when your in landscape mode without hitting the key that minimizes the keyboard first?

I got them on my SD card and have been trying unsuccessfully to reinstall them all night on package installer but I keep getting this wonderful "process com.android.phone" force close message. I managed to get my phone into airplane mode thinking if I disconnected it from the internet I could stop the error messages and do the installs off my SD card but to no avail. I'm trying to do it through Package Installer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having issues with the phone and a system error message with something about com.htc.provider and it only gives you the option of a "force close" button. Sometimes that is all that happens and once you hit the force close the message goes away, at least for a while. Other times when this happens it deletes all of your text strings. I have 2 lines and 2 droids, both were having the same issue, did the factory resets, went to the store with both and finally gave in and took 2 refurbished phones to try and fix issue, both refurbished phones started doing the same thing immediately. I am in process of arguing with verizon about not wanting another eris to replace these.

That's it. I can press the menu button on the phone and see the menu items I created, but when I click on the "Settings" (r.id.settings) it FC. Do I have to do anything to the manifest/other thing to get this to work?
Love the X10 but cannot get mediascape to work, get force close message each time. Sony not responded to any of my emails and when I called they were not that helpful, could only suggest I restore to factory settings. Do not really want to do that.
