When I send camera shots via email using HTC's Mail application, the photos are not readable by most recipients (except, interestingly enough, by my wife on her blackberry). Same photos sent by the gmail app are fine. The photos appear as attachments, but they cannot be viewed and when the recipient tries to download, a jpg that is only a fraction of the total size is saved and that file is not viewable either.

I tried searching for an answer to this, but had no luck. I've just ditched the stock Messaging App for Handcent and am really liking it (as many have here have said). BUT, when I send an MMS or even a simple text, I can't seem to send to email addresses that I had saved (I typically send to some phones and emails at the same time). I could do this with the stock app. Any ideas for me...I feel dizzy from looking through all the Handcent options and can't find anything.

View 2 Replies View Relatedjust noticed that when i read my gmail from the phone, it doesn't mark it off as read when i check on the computer. also when i try to reply or send an email, it is just stuck there with a red "sending". anyone have any idea what is going on?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, I've spent 2 whole hours making sure that I'm not repeating a thread and I couldn't believe no one has made a thread on their fav widgets yet and how they use them! This is something similar to Khaag27's forum so plz dont hit me with copyright infringements.
To start out, I don't have a screen capture, so I can't just show you the screen shots, which I strongly encourage others to use if they have it..rooted bastards lol..but I'll tell you which widgets I have on which screens. I also know that widgets take up a lot of your battery, but I don't see many people using them on their screens. It's like why not?
On my furthest screen to the left, I just have 3 widgets, which are my personal favorite because they tell me all my interest in life! (well almost) They are Gaming Buzz, US Sports Buzz, and Mobile Buzz by AdMob. Great widgets that I've never seen others use.
Next is just my gaming screen.
Next is the SportsTap widget. Like to stay updated with my Rockets and the Black Mamba
Home screen is the second HTC calendar widget..smaller version..i have the smaller version of HTC's weather app, which I update manually..I have the Ringer toggle widget..which is great for quickly configuring your vib..silent settings..and I have the Bible Daily verse..which is great for starting my day off
Next is Tune Wiki, which I rarely hear about lately, and Pandora. I also have iSearch..which I never see either..I'm starting to think if I'm really the only one using these!!
Next is the toggle settings for wifi..gps..etc..then the contacts widget..the smaller version..
I recently removed the mail widget as I saw that this was hogging up a lot of battery and I don't like nosey people really lol..

When viewing my gallery I get little thumb nails of each photo. One of the photos is a gray box with a rectangle and a exclamation mark on it. If I click the gray thumb nail, my photo comes up perfect.Why the gray thumb nail?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI know the camera saves pictures to the SD card, but I can't find them there using OI File Manager, or plugging it into my laptop!
The pictures are there, because I can view them and see them listed under "Albums". Under "Albums" it shows a folder called "Camera Shots", but when I look on the card, there is no such folder, nor can I find the pictures that are in it, anywhere else!
All I can see is the folder called "Saved photos" via the OI File Manager, under "Albums", and via my computer.
A few weeks back, when I was considering to switch to Galaxo or not, we had a thread here mentioning an odd issue,
Every 3rd picture taken with the camera app would be bad (or just a dud).
At the time, I couldn't reproduce the issue and it didn't bother me. But, just today afternoon (and a bit early in the week), I encountered something similar - every other picture had a 50% chance of being bad (just blank). It got to the point that the camera was just un-usable. I spent a good bit of time investigating this and I think I have an explanation. But first, let me walk you through what I did.
By default, I keep my camera to take 5 Megapixel shots at "super fine" setting. With that, I couldn't take any good shots AT ALL. I reduced it to 1M and "normal" setting. Things were a bit better, in that now only every other shot was bad. But, at least I was able to use the camera.
I use 3 desktop screens filled with widgets. I disabled most of my widgets and reduced the number of screens to 2. (I'm running Drakaz's darksense theme for Galaxo 1.6.3 ). With this, the camera was MUCH better. In fact, I could take 5 shots continuously without any problems (testing at home).
In some ways, it looks like I was stretching the limits of my i7500 a bit too much and so, the camera just didn't work right, but I can live with fewer screens and fewer widgets.
I miss the Handcent SMS widget, but from what I observed, its too resource-intensive for my needs. The only widgets I use now are from "Jorte" , the organizer app (really good too!) and "SMS Im Away".
So, for those of you who need the camera in working order, consider disabling a few screens and widgets.
I was wondering if there is a way to change or create a shortcut to take me directly to my camera shots instead of having to choose

Is there a way to send text messages automatically when entering sprint network. Sometimes I send text messages while on the train. I set it to Sprint only to avoid roaming charges. My old phone would automatically send. This one I have to resend. Are there settings to auto send when entering the sprint network?

I didn't touch the phone settings in between the last successful send and the first failed attempt, anyone got any ideas? Have tried the usual, like deleting/recreating the account, plus using different SMTP servers (orangehome.co.uk, 192. etc.) but all to no avail.
Updated to 2.1-update1 and everything is fine other than Gmail.
I can't send any emails at all, they just sit in the outbox saying "sending". If I long press on any of them, I get an error:

I can recieve emails with no problems. I've cleared the cache and data for Gmail, I've rebooted the phone countless times, restarted the gmail process etc etc
I have a few videos on my SD card. A couple that were downloaded but most have been recorded with the phone. I have all tha videos sorted into folders so I know which is which. But, today when I opened the gallery to view a picture there was a new folder created called "camera shots" with all the videos in it, or which I thought were the videos. When I opened the folder all the files were a picture of the beginning of each video and were shrunken down so small they are really hard to see. When I looked at the properties of each they all had the file ending in png. Anyone have any idea what png is and has anyone else had your phone recreate the "camera shots" folder without you taking any new pictures or videos?

I don't get any error message but the people I send a picture to never receive it and when someone sends me a picture in a text I never receive it. I cut the resolution on my phone down to 1mb but it didn't help

Sometimes it will check if the phone is awake, but otherwise it could sit in my pocket sleeping for three hours and never once send/receive.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHere's the deal - the Gmail app was working perfectly for me, but I wanted to use the HTC email client. I had my account set up on both, with 15 minute polling on the HTC client, and this worked fine. However, I wanted push email while using this client, so I set up Exchange activesync using m.google.com for my gmail account.
I noticed almost constant activity from the activsync, the phone got quite hot in a short time, and the battery drained at an amazing rate.
So I decided I didn't need ativesync, and I deleted the account. This is when the problem started. My gmail app now refuses to send out any email. When I try, it says "sending" in red, but it never does.
What are my options?
Is there a market app that will let you send a voice mail to a phone on ANY network, without it ringing on their end?

View 3 Replies View RelatedHave any of you have success sending a picture to multiple contacts at once? I use Handcent Sms for my texts. I tried once and it didn't send anything. All I saw was the little green icon to the right of the text loading and loading like it was trying to send it. I tried to send a pic to 3 people at once. I canceled the picture and tried to individually send the picture and it wouldn't do it. I had kill the app and turn my Hero off and turn it back on in order for it to work.

I have 1.5 on my phone on 2.1 is this issue fixed I will risk the trouble just to send pics. I can't find a solution other then going on sprint.com/picturemail and I'm tired of doing that now.
