Sprint HTC Hero :: Getting Notification - Hotmail Can Not Send A Message
Apr 5, 2010I haven't had a problem with my email accounts from the time I got my Hero almost two months ago until yesterday. It is a hotmail account and as of yesterday I'm getting a notification that hotmail can not send a message. I rarely use hotmail to send messages, only to receive messages 90% of the time. I'm not sure what could have happened but its kinda bugging me.

I also thought that I read that you could do this using the stock messaging app, but haven't been able to figure out how to do it there either. May 12, 2010I think I've got a memory leak somewhere. I'm running DC v2.08.1 and I've got a low memory error. It may be because I flashed from Fresh 2.0D to this without wiping, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any ideas how I can figure it out without wiping. I'd really rather not wipe again.

Jul 13, 2010I've had my Hero for about a month now, and ever since, I've had to reset it twice; once because I couldn't receive a call, and the second time because it was stuck on a notification sound and wouldn't change, no matter what.
The problem now is that I cannot send a picture message. I constantly get an error message saying that the 'message format is corrupted'. I've tried to take this issue to my carrier's tech support team only to discover I'm having yet another issue: a few of my contacts get deleted if I try to use HTC Sync to back my contacts list up so that I can preform a master reset.

1. He is on my Facebook contact. (His facebook pic appears in my Desire contact list)

3. He is added as a 'Phone Contact' as well.
I sent him a text few days ago but don't remember if it was using facebook or my phone (network provider sms) but now when I go in to 'Messages' and send him a message, I just can't figure out if I am sending him a message via Facebook or to his mobile number.

May 19, 2010My problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.

Jan 14, 2010Question about Stock Mail (not gmail) app. First - I am rooted running Fresh 1.1 Rom. I have noticed that my mail client does not send/receive mail on it's set schedule. Sometimes it will check if the phone is awake, but otherwise it could sit in my pocket sleeping for three hours and never once send/receive.

Oct 29, 2009Here's the deal - the Gmail app was working perfectly for me, but I wanted to use the HTC email client. I had my account set up on both, with 15 minute polling on the HTC client, and this worked fine. However, I wanted push email while using this client, so I set up Exchange activesync using m.google.com for my gmail account.
I noticed almost constant activity from the activsync, the phone got quite hot in a short time, and the battery drained at an amazing rate.
So I decided I didn't need ativesync, and I deleted the account. This is when the problem started. My gmail app now refuses to send out any email. When I try, it says "sending" in red, but it never does.
What are my options?

Jan 11, 2010Well so I am trying to delete a massage thread and my hero goes crazy.After I press delete thread the message app is unresponsive then I get an error and I can't even get online. I have to reboot in order for the phone to go online. A.d guess what the messages I wanted to delete r still there. I was using handcent I uninstalled it and went back to stock app but the problem still there. Pls help I dnt wanna do a factory reset.

Dec 22, 2009Have any of you have success sending a picture to multiple contacts at once? I use Handcent Sms for my texts. I tried once and it didn't send anything. All I saw was the little green icon to the right of the text loading and loading like it was trying to send it. I tried to send a pic to 3 people at once. I canceled the picture and tried to individually send the picture and it wouldn't do it. I had kill the app and turn my Hero off and turn it back on in order for it to work.

May 22, 2010I upgraded to 2.1 last night and now i cant send or receive calls. Well my phone does ring when i call out or someone calls but as soon as the call is answered its just dead ... neither end can hear anything.. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening or how i can fix it.. Called sprint and they told me to take it into a service center.. They are saying this is a known issue as of yesterday.

Feb 17, 2010When I send camera shots via email using HTC's Mail application, the photos are not readable by most recipients (except, interestingly enough, by my wife on her blackberry). Same photos sent by the gmail app are fine. The photos appear as attachments, but they cannot be viewed and when the recipient tries to download, a jpg that is only a fraction of the total size is saved and that file is not viewable either.

I downloaded Handcent App and I would love to use it, but When I do use it, I get text messages sent to the App I downloaded, and to the default text messaging that came with the hero. How can I make my text messages only send to Handcent SMS instead of Both? I'm new at having a cell phone that has so much you can do with it, so I will probably have tons of more questions, but these are the 2 questions that I would love to be figured out first and then eventually I will ask others when I have them.
