Alright so today for some reason when I replied to, I would get an error message saying that It was unable to send. So I had to delete my email address and re install it. Now it doesn't update once I receive the emails or make a sound.. I have it so it supposed to but still does not. Anyone know what to do about this and how to make send/receive as soon as it comes not every 5 mins?

I have handcent, but get the same error message with stock messaging app.
The only things I could find within the incredible forums was that it may be linked to a app bug, which that specific app I have never used, or this is a known HTC error which I can't confirm.

When I go into Settings: MMS Settings: Connection Settings: everything is greyed out. Should it be that way? Is there something I need to set up first?
however I have never dl'd quick settings. Second was an HTC bug that was being worked on. Can anyone confirm any of this, and if they have had picture txt problems is there a fix other than factory reset?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently received my new HTC Incredible and connected to my exchange account. Everything thing seemed fine until people told me they had not received my emails. I checked and the emails were in my sent folder and appeared to have been sent. Looking into this further I was able to narrow the problem down to only NEW emails to an outside email address are not received. Any email that I reply to and any new email to someone on the same exchange server are received fine. Just new emails to an out side address are never received but are happily sitting in the sent folder.I deleted the exchange account from the phone and set it up again and had the same results. Pulled the battery, etc. I then setup my account on an HTC Hero and got the exact same results. As a side note the same setup on an iphone works fine.Searching around I think I may have narrowed the problem down to a pin issue between the HTC mail client and the Exchange Server but am not sure. Has anyone else had this issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay so I have a friend who has no phone so best way to talk to him is send him an email. I used to have a blackberry and I just added his email address as a contact and display name was also his email address to keep it simple. I would then do new sms and I can make him a recipient and it works just fine. Now I'm trying the same technique with my evo but when I do a new text message he doesn't show up cuz he has no phone nbr only an email address. So I have to manually type his long email address every time I want to send him a msg. I've tried using chompsms and handcent but no luck. so any ideas on how i can make the process easier and not have to type his email every time?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFound out yesterday that my "computer" is not sending text messages (using the native app). It caused an argument between my wife and I, and about damn-near caused a divorce. The bad thing is that, from what I can tell, it hasn't been sending ANY for a couple of days now. (Notice I didn't say that a potential divorce was not the bad thing ) I can receive texts all day long, not able to send them. In the time that I wasn't able to send them, I wasn't receiving any notifications that the text wasn't sent! I can go into the app, menu > undelivered and see 2 dozen texts there. Why am I not getting a failure notification if I have "Failure Notification" checked in the settings?
Because it went on for so long before being noticed, I have no way of knowing if I screwed around with the settings or if an app I downloaded has caused the problem. I've been tempted to use Handcent, but I'm leery about using something that radically changes the interface when I am a new Superphone and new Android user. Besides, it may not fix the problem.
I am unable to attach even short videos to send via text message, or whatever you want to call it. it says that the files are too large attach. i have had success in teh past with other phones having this feature, so i guess i sort of figured id be able to do it on this phone.

I had a few texts and calls early eve with no issues at all then later on when I tried a text it kept giving me a 'message not sent' message? At first I thought it was an Orange issue so didn't worry too much but this am it's still the same? On doing a bit of investigating I have found I can no longer make calls either. If I try it it doesn't even get too a dial tone it just beeps and returns to the initial call screen.
The phone is showing full signal strength? When I go too call settings>additional settings it shows 'network or SIM error'. I have put my SIM into another phone and it works fine and another SIM that I know works into my Desire and have the same issues so it must be the handset. What do you lot suggest? If I do a factory reset will I loose all my photos etc. from my memory card? Or could I just un-mount it and then reset?
I've been using my HTC Desire without a problem but for the last couple of weeks I have been getting unable to send notifications when sending texts. This can be almost instantly after hitting the send button. I'm on three. My friend has the same handset and he is on oange and is getting the same thing so is this a handset thing or are we both doing something wrong. If you leave the desire to do it's stuff it will send it. On other occasions it goes no problem.
View 19 Replies View RelatedMy issue is that I am unable to send mail using an email account on my web domain - I get a generic message that states something similar to the email is unable to be sent. I was previously able to email on my old Blackberry using the same account, so I would think it'd be possible on the Droid X. I have tried all ports I saw suggested in the forums on my web host's site but none of the three I tried work for me. I am able to receive mail without any problems and my web host confirmed the below settings should be correct. I know for certain that the user name requires the full email address, rather than just the user name portion. Please see below and let me know what I need to change to get this working. The first time it happened I cleared the cache on HTC mail program and everything worked again, however that didn't work this time. I have no problem sending email through an active sync account.

When i type the message and hit send my phone keeps losing signal and displays the message :
"Currently cant send your message.It will be sent when the service becomes available".My mobile data is enabled but still no change.
I tried flashing ROM and kernel again but the problem still persists. I am able to receive sms messages but cannot send.

I didn't touch the phone settings in between the last successful send and the first failed attempt, anyone got any ideas? Have tried the usual, like deleting/recreating the account, plus using different SMTP servers (orangehome.co.uk, 192. etc.) but all to no avail.
My phone has been trying to send an email from gmail for 2 days. it keeps saying unable to send and I don't know how to stop it. If I click on it, it takes me to the edit email account screen. When I go through the steps it says authentication failed even though my gmail account is fine. I don't know how to fix this. "Force Close" message and I have to restart mail.This error and behavior is repeatable.If I select "Menu -> Delete" from the in-box, the message dissappears, and is not available to "select" for deletion.If I try and just select the message to read it, the screen quickly flashes as though it were about to open the message, but immediately returns to the inbox screen.If I get a new message, I am able to delete it with no problem. It seems to be specific to only this message.

It is not allowing me to use the phone at all, it says no service. Even the sprint website has my phone greyed out as if it don't exist. Now if I do a hard reset, everything comes back on, but I lose everything. This is my second Hero and I am hoping that there is a fix. I went to HTC email support site to try and get a solution and it is down, getting really frustrated with this phone. I downloaded apps from the market and transfered music to the sd card.
