Apr 17, 2010I went from a stock 1.5 to 2.1 using the Sprint 2.1 RUU and all is well. I understand it's a dev build and as such is already root but when I trying installing android-wifi-tether (both 2.0 and 1.6) it all looks well except when I touch the icon to start and it fails. The 1.6 version did report I didn't have root.
What do I need to do in ADB/shell to ensure the proper permissions are there for AWT? This is the last thing I want to get working and I'm happy.
Do I need to remount the filesystem as rw? Add superuser? Not sure what's needed.
Sprint HTC Hero :: Need Code To Do Wipe Via Adb
Jul 18, 2010When I go to install different custom roms, my recovery image won't allow me to wipe sd:ext partition. What i mean is when i go to wipe it i get this message "Error : Run "wipe ext" via adb". I'm using Ra-heroc-v1.6.2. Anyone know what to do? If not, does anyone know code to do wipe via adb Searched for quite a while there and am now turning to.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Error Code 1012
Apr 9, 2010I just got my Hero two days ago. I was told to make sure there were to firmware or PRL updates. The Firmware said it was up to date. I tried the PRL update this morning and it said it could not be done now to try later. If problem persists contact Sprint. Error code 1012. I am not sure what PRL even is and does this sound like a problem on Sprint's end or my phone? Sorry for the dumb question, I am new to all this technology.

May 10, 2010I am having a problem with my voicemail, not sure if it is related to my phone or not.
If my phone rings, and I ignore or miss the call, the caller will hear a recorded voice say "The number or code you have entered is incorrect, please check the number or code and try again. Message 7, Switch .."
BUT, if the phone never rings (like it cannot connect b/c of no service or in data and call never comes thru) then the caller is forwarded to my voicemail, can leave a message, and it comes thru on visual voicemail.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled the voicemail app, no such luck. I think this may be a Sprint-side problem.
HTC : Machine Shop / Incredible Not Working
May 13, 2010I'm in need of some advise. I love my incredible. But... I keep it in my front pocket all the time. Not a problem for most people but i work in a machine shop. I have uniforms and they tend to get tiny steel shavings in the pockets. The incredible likes to clean the shavings from my pockets with the ear piece and external speaker.
I think I have figured out a way to take care of the external speaker with some sort of thin cloth between the speaker and back cover. But I'm not sure how to fix the problem with the ear piece. I hate to put a piece of tape or something on the face of a phone. I'm going to try some sort of thin sleve to slide it in before I put it in my pocket @ work.

Sprint HTC Hero : Cant Send SMS At All But Can Receive - Built In App Get Error - Cause Code 97
Oct 30, 2009Just got my Hero last night from Best buy with that nice little coupon! Great device so far, except that I cant send SMS at all. I can receive them though. I tried sending with the built in app, as well as HandCent.
When sending with the built in app, I get this error:
Cause Code 97
Error Code 2
I have tried updating firmware, PRI and PRL. Also rebooted the phone. Nothing makes it work. Anyone have ideas what I can do to make this work?

So I usually have to manually copy album Pics from the net and paste them in the info section. However my hero either doesn't show the artwork or replaces my pic with some other random artwork pic. How To: Set Up ADB/USB Drivers for Android Devices | The Unlockr and it wont work.
Is the reason why it wont work because im rooted(using fresh 2.0)?
