When I go to install different custom roms, my recovery image won't allow me to wipe sd:ext partition. What i mean is when i go to wipe it i get this message "Error : Run "wipe ext" via adb". I'm using Ra-heroc-v1.6.2. Anyone know what to do? If not, does anyone know code to do wipe via adb Searched for quite a while there and am now turning to.

I want to do a wipe and reflash a rom. When wiping though, should i just wipe, then flash while still in recovery, or wipe - reboot - go through the set up, then boot into recovery and flash the rom?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm wanting to flash back to 2.0d but didn't save my nandroid for that particular ROM. I'm currently running 2.1.1, and have been for some time now. While I like 2.1.1, 2.0d just seemed to run better for me. My question is do I need to wipe before I flash or can I just flash 2.0d over 2.1.1? I didn't wipe when going from 2.0d to 2.1.1 and everything worked fine but I wasn't sure if I could do the same thing going the other way.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI just got my Hero two days ago. I was told to make sure there were to firmware or PRL updates. The Firmware said it was up to date. I tried the PRL update this morning and it said it could not be done now to try later. If problem persists contact Sprint. Error code 1012. I am not sure what PRL even is and does this sound like a problem on Sprint's end or my phone? Sorry for the dumb question, I am new to all this technology.

If my phone rings, and I ignore or miss the call, the caller will hear a recorded voice say "The number or code you have entered is incorrect, please check the number or code and try again. Message 7, Switch .."
BUT, if the phone never rings (like it cannot connect b/c of no service or in data and call never comes thru) then the caller is forwarded to my voicemail, can leave a message, and it comes thru on visual voicemail.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled the voicemail app, no such luck. I think this may be a Sprint-side problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust got my Hero last night from Best buy with that nice little coupon! Great device so far, except that I cant send SMS at all. I can receive them though. I tried sending with the built in app, as well as HandCent.
When sending with the built in app, I get this error:
Cause Code 97
Error Code 2
I have tried updating firmware, PRI and PRL. Also rebooted the phone. Nothing makes it work. Anyone have ideas what I can do to make this work?
How many tries do you get to guess a lock screen pattern just incase you forget it or something. And how many people here actually uses the lockscreen also why do u use it.

2. I've got a new ROM update from T-Mobile but when I run the install it says "This will wipe all your information and data". What's all that about?

View 9 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
