Samsung Moment :: After Rooting Cannot Connect To Market
Nov 29, 2010Greetings everyone, I rooted my moment today. After that i tired to load the market and I am getting an error msgs that says A sever error has occurred. Retry or cancel and return to the previous screen.
Any ideas? I have seen some posts on a google site saying this might be related to google checkout, however everything there is current.
Samsung Moment :: Deleted Google Talk App - Can't Download From Market
Jul 25, 2010I flashed my Samsung Moment (2.1) with Dream 3.0...everything is perfect but I went ahead and deleted google talk since I never intend on using it.
Well, apparently that causes one to not be able to download from the market. I can't even download Google Talk now to fix it. It keeps crashing when I try to download anything. I have Root Explorer and Astro but I don't think I backed up the Talk app. Am I screwed or is there some way to make this better?

Dec 15, 2009I am new to the moment and to the forum. When I get an email, there are 2 different symbols that show up in the top bar. One is the @ sign. and the other is an envelope. They both show my gmail, but with 2 different views. One is new emails, the other is new conversations. Does anyone know anything about why these both show up?

Nov 4, 2010I bought a Samsung Galaxy S a few days back and was able to sign into the Android market via my gmail account. I even managed to download the BarCode scanner application.That's where the problems begun. Since auto-sync was on, all my gmail contacts were synced with my phone contacts. Now since I did not want to see my gmail contacts every time I try and make a call, I performed a factory reset on the phone (since there was no other way to get rid of all the gmail contacts at once). I then turned sync off and tried to sign in to my Google account, but it refused to do so. I get a message saying: "Unable to establish a reliable connection with server. This may be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services. Please contact customer care if the problem persists." I even tried connecting with sync on just for the heck of it but it still did not work.The Samsung Customer Care service in India is truly pathetic. They said that: "We do not provide support for such technical problem" Wtf? They then proceeded to give a regional center number, which when I called.

Sep 15, 2010i got a fascinate like 2 days ago and i set a patter lock to it, i know this very well, its very simple but i was procratinating from my homework earlier and kept entering different patters because i hate homework and i have add. Anyways i did this to the point where it required a google id login. So i sigh and attempt to login, does not work, i try 10 more times before i find out that this is an ongoing android problem. I do a hard reset, still doesnt work. Now 5 hours later im pissed beyond belief wondering why google put so much effort into a dumb pattern lock and why it still does not work after a full restore.

Sep 15, 2010Since I rooted to Radioactive Froyo 1.8.22 I've not been able to get my phone to connect to my PC. I tried uninstalling the programs I used to flash, [including deleting the registry files] and even re-downloaded the samsung update program, ran it to the point where it installs the drivers, and it then quit, and it still will not work.

Mar 5, 2010After a month of owning my moment I finally got around to buying a usb cord to move some pics and music around between my laptop and cell. I saw on here about PDAnet and wanted to use that. I downloaded and went to install and it brought up the box that if I was going to use it with a moment I needed to cancel and install the driver, I d/l the driver and tryed to install and it gets an error unable to intall driver. I went to the control panel and it shows 5 different usb drivers for samsung as installed, I tryed to uninstall and none of them uninstall. PDAnet wont connect and im getting a little frustrated. any advise?

Aug 3, 2010I just got a replacement yesterday for my phone since my old one would not connect to GPS. All was fine, I rooted and installed Radioactive FroYo 1.8.9 (or what ever the newest is) plug my phone in at 11pm, wake up at 8am and my phone wasn't fully charged. I unplugged it and checked my email which only took a minute and it dropped to about 50%. WTF I thought, so I plug it into my laptop and it detected it, then I unplugged it, then I plugged it in again and nothing happened, wiggled the cord around and it would go in and out of being connected to the computer. So this phone has a bad USB or something, which would explain why a couple times last night I heard the single chime coming from my phone. So now I have to reflash my phone and have Sprint order me another phone.

Sep 3, 2010I had to get my moment replace because the screen screwed up. I had Easyteher on my phone prior to getting this one and worked good, it was working when first I hooked this phone up, it let me mount it to my computer and easytether worked fine. Then I don't know what happened. My computer doesn't see my phone anymore, and when I plug it into the computer is doesn't say "usb debugging connected" like it did before. Also when I pull down the notification bar and press menu it doesn't do anything. I thought that was how I mounted my phone before. The only thing that it does is charge the phone when I plug it in to the usb. I have tried on 3 computers, one using windows 7, Vista and XP, and not one of them worked. I seen that other people had this similar problem but I couldn't find an answer. My phone is not rooted either, please help me This is driving me nuts, I need to use my computer at work, and this is the only way I can get internet connection.

Jan 31, 2010How to connect my phone via USB cable to my computer. I know you turn off USB debugging option under development. I connect the USB cable that came with my phone to USB on my computer and then to my phone. At the top of my phone it comes up with the notification to mount my card touch on that and them my phone comes up saying to turn off mass storage. Using Windows XP and in explorer can see the SD card showing as a drive in my list however when I click on it it shows nothing.
I can see the notice of the usb drive in the listings showing that I can turn it off, which I do before I disconnect the phone from my computer. Then I try to connect the USB again to my phone and all it does is show its charging the phone now, usually the only way to resolve is either to restart my computer or restart my phone and the problem starts all over again. I am tired of taking the card out of my phone manually to connect it to my computer to move or copy files or anything to my card which is an 8GB sandisk micro sd card.

May 24, 2010I have been trying to connect my wiimote controller to my phone using bluetooth. There are a few apps in the market that allow this to work and most people seem to be having success with this app while I keep getting that error when I ever I try to connect it.
I've tried 3 wii controller apps with no success. Is this a Moment issue? Has anyone else been having the same problem?

Samsung Moment :: Battery Life - No Service - Wifi Wont Connect
Jun 14, 2010I had a moment in the beginning and took it back,got a hero had massive problems and finally got my hero replaced with another moment that was brand new.I just got it like 2-3 days ago and its having the same issues that i had on 1.5 when i had it the first time.I had it replaced when i had it the first time and same issue.I have 2.1 now and the battery life is still horrible like dropping not long after taking it off the charger without using it but biggest problem is that the phone will tell me i have no service and it will have an x up above where the bars should be and i have to remove the battery and put it back in before it will work again.The data does the same thing and i can turn the phone off and back on for that and it will work again.Does this happen to anyone else??Its very frustrating!!Also the wifi wont connect.It just says it is unable to connect but it was just working and my laptop works wirelessly so i know that its not my router or anything with my connection.

Apr 21, 2010I recently upgraded to a rooted 2.1 system and all worked well for about a week, including use of the Market. But now I can't download anything from the Market at this point. I've tried every solution I've seen on this and other forums, but nothing has solved the issue. I've tried rebooting through recovery, pulling out the battery, starting Google Talk (apparently that helps with other phones), checked the 'okay to download third-party apps/unknown sources' mark in settings, and cleared the cache out of every application. I've uninstalled every application I've downloaded in the last 3-4 days.
However, I can't find the Market app to clear the cache - would seem like if I cleared the cache from the Market app, that might do the trick. I remember seeing it as an manageable app in 1.5, but it's not showing in 2.1.
Is the Market app in 2.1 hidden somehow? I've used Root Explorer, ASTRO and the stock apps manager but none show the Market program as an application.
Also, are there other suggestions I haven't tried?
The reason it's an issue right now is because I removed the mms.apk program (moved it to the SD card, but it won't re-install -- tried ASTRO and Root Explorer) and was using Handsent SMS exclusively for texting. But Handsent had some problems so I uninstalled it and was about to re-install it but now I can't successfully download anything from the Market. So, I have no texting ability right now.
