Everytime I hit browser to go on the internet it will ask me to enter my phone numer which is very annoying each time....is there a way to defeat this and just go directly online ?

Does the virtual keyboard on the Moment have bigger keys than the HTC Hero? I ask this because looking at the display for the moment it appears to be wider than that of the Hero.Also, does the screen shut off when not in use? I have heard people say this as well as their face hits stuff on the screen when they are talking on it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just traded my Palm Pre for a Samsung Moment today (made the deal off of Craigs List). The phone worked great all afternoon after I got it but 30 minutes ago I pulled it out to enter something into my calendar and it was off. I tried to turn it on but it seems dead.The battery has at least 40% remaining last time I looked and it is charging right now just in case. Anybody else have this happen? Is there some special way to turn this on that I don't know about? I held down the hang up button to turn it on and it is not working.Any ideas? (The Sprint rep at the store where I swapped with the other person said the warranty sticks to where ever the ESID is active - meaning on my account so I do have the warranty for it).
View 13 Replies View Relatedwhen you put the phone up to your face while talking i know it has the sensor that shuts off the screen, my question is does anyone else seem like it hesistates a while after you take the phone off your ear? If i call a number that requires me to enter numbers it seems like it takes a good 3 or 4 seconds for the screen to turn back on. I know it doesnt seem like a lot but some of these calls if you dont enter the number right away they start asking questions over then i do hit a number and its the wrong one so its a pain in the a$$. I came from a palm pre which was virtually instantaneous once i took the phone off my ear. So i guess im wondering if this is a problem with just my phone or all moments and is there a fix for it?

They both show my gmail, but with 2 different views. One is new emails, the other is new conversations. Does anyone know anything about why these both show up?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOver the past two days I've had a recurring problem with my Moment - the screen no longer shuts off when I press the Off or End Call button. This is a pain because buttons end up being pressed when I slip the phone in to my pocket. I'm running the official 2.1 update and have been since the week after it came out, and I haven't had this problem before. I can't seem to figure it out. The button still works to turn the screen on, and will still turn of the screen if it's at the lock screen, but at the home screen or in an app, nothing happens when pressing the button. This was a little awkward today when the body heat through my shorts opened up my Alarm Clock app and started playing the various alarm clock ringtones!

Actually its with my wife's phone, we both have Moments, mine works great but hers frequently (not all the time) doesn't shut off during phone calls. At first I thought she was just holding it strange but I have seen it for myself and its quite frustrating. The biggest issue is that its an intermittent problem so of course it never happens when at the Sprint store asking about replacing the phone. I did the recent update to the phone and it still does it. Any way to fix this short of getting a new one?

I can send and recieve texts and calls, but I can't get on the Market or check my email or use apps that need the internet. My "3G" sign is not at the top by my bars.
I am new at texting and would like to know if there is a program were you can text to all phones brom you pc rather than just to your own carrier. I have found sprint.com's texting program but will only allow you to text to sprint customers. What I am looking for is a site that allows texting to and provider.

I would click on my browser icon (Google is bookmarked as my home page) the google page would load, start "acquiring my location" and then automatically shut down my browser. So I went through the Sprint help desk for several hours with no answer and no fix. I changed my home page to something other than Google and now my browser seems to work just fine. But everytime I go to the google webpage, like I'm doing a google search it shuts down the browser. Flipping weird! Another heads up. if I use my Google searchwidget, it seems to work just fine.

When I try to go to google.com or use the google search bar on the main sceen it starts to load, and before it finishes its closes the browser. It happens every time, with no forse close screen. It didn't always do this since I updated to 2.1, it just started recently. Has anyone else had this happen or perhaps knows what causes this?

Using the default web browser, there is an annoying red minus/green plus sign that pops up any time the page is not scrolling. The symbols allow me to adjust the font size. I just want this to go away, and I will use pinch gestures if I need to zoom in or adjust. Under Settings>Accessibility, I have text scaling at 100%, force zoom unchecked, text encoding on auto detect, full screen mode unchecked, text booster unchecked.

I downloaded Dolphin, which gets a lot of positive reviews on these forums, but found that it ran even slower than the stock. Tried Steel but it wouldn't load on my Moment.
Am used to Opera Mini on my Instinct loading faster than what I'm getting with the Moment which I find hard to accept given how much faster the phone is supposed to be...
Is there anyway to make the browser not do this? It really slows down the browsing experience compared to other Android phones. I have tried to change my homepage to something different and that did not work. Any ideas?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSome time ago...I estimate a week at most, I received an error when simply saving a file from my Browser, stating there was not enough space to do so. Knowing my phone had mre than adequate space, I presumed it was just an error with my browser.
Trying again with a different internet browser, I was met again with the same dilema. To make matters worse, I cannot permanently delete picture files from the default viewer on my phone. Queerily, I can delete them, only to have the pictures return hours later. To make my situation more unusual; Upon viewing the SD card mounted on my laptop, I can move, add & delete any form of files with ease. Even saving/deleting other files using different apps (Videobox, for example) gives me no hassle whatsoever.
One solution I'm willing, but at the same time reluctant to try is to reset my phone entirely to it's factory default setting (prior to backing up all of my SD card's data, of course)
I have loaded the Dolphin browser as my default browser and the google homepage is stuck in Spanish. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times and nothing changes. The only way to view it in english is to scroll down to the bottom of the google homepage and press "Google.com in in English". Once I close the browser and come back its back in Spanish. Any ideas or suggestions?
