I am new to the moment and to the forum. When I get an email, there are 2 different symbols that show up in the top bar. One is the @ sign. and the other is an envelope. They both show my gmail, but with 2 different views. One is new emails, the other is new conversations. Does anyone know anything about why these both show up?

No problem for first few days of ownership but now when I try to send a text it does not seem to send. It shows a symbol of a closed envelope with a red L in a circle next to the text message that I tried to send. I'm having no problems receiving texts or with any other functions.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI do have a few questions about the phone. i was wondering if there is a way to make text messages alerts show up on my screen. i have an app that shows if i have one unread but it is pretty small. every other phone i've had had a pretty big notification for texts. also is there a way to have the screen light up when you get a text? there is a sound that plays when i get a text, but the screen does not light up. not sure if im just missing something, but is there a way to set different tones for different notification? right now the same thing plays when i plug my phone in, that plays when i get a text. none of these are huge issues, but i am just curious if there is a way to make some changes on the phone. im sure ill figure it out or just get used to it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm sure this is an easy fix, but I can't seem to figure it out. I had Handcent installed on my captivate, however decided to stick with the installed messaging software. After uninstalling, I am now receiving two SMS notifications when I receive a text. One a white envelope, another a green bubble with "SMS" written in it. I can't find a place where two are coming from...any ideas?

I see the same symbols when I pull down the notification bar, right above where it says "No Notifications" if I don't have any. They are @@@^oe@@ I find it very weird. I have been looking and I can't figure out if I can change those symbols or just get rid of them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased my moment about 2 weeks ago and have been having fun figuring it out however there are some areas where I am having problems.
1. When you want to attach a document it selects the picture folder/area, how do you browse instead of being forced into that area.
2. I downloaded ringtone app and have found the app quite useful, the problem I am having is, the ringtones I have created don't show up in all the ringtone areas of my phone, what needs to be done to correct this.
3. The basic user guide that comes with the phone says there is an app I can download called samsung new pc studio. When I call sprint or samsung they say this app is not available or can't be used by a casd(the u.s. standard, I think casd is right), they say this software is only for the other standard, I did find this app on the web. Is what sprint and samsung saying true if not can I use the ones I found on the web.
4. If you could choose only ten apps to have(free)which ones would you choose?
For some songs, it is perfect. But for some songs, either the names or the album names show up as something like?@#*&^@$.
This doesn't happen to songs in English, but in Korean (Not all songs though). I tried renaming, changing song info. My best guess is the locale/text setting.
i think my gt-i7500 is bricked. i downloaded the 1.6 firmware(.tar) along with ODIN.. set up the downloading mode and used ODIN to flash it to 1.6. ODIN showed PASS in the window but the phone refuses to boot up. It remains frozen with the SAMSUNG sign. Recovery mode is not working either.

When the 3G sign disappears from my phone I get a 'H' sign, what does this stand for? Also when the 3G is flashing red and green arrows does this mean you are connected to internet. i.e. when using an application? On some applications it doesn't flash but on others it does even games! I don't want to get charged for palying games!

I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. There are no scratches or rub marks on it, never been dropped and I have reset it to Factory Specs via the SECURITY MENU and the ESN is clear and ready to be activated on your SPRINT account.Please email me at sy@rayzel.com if you are interested. View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a Samsung Galaxy S a few days back and was able to sign into the Android market via my gmail account. I even managed to download the BarCode scanner application.That's where the problems begun. Since auto-sync was on, all my gmail contacts were synced with my phone contacts. Now since I did not want to see my gmail contacts every time I try and make a call, I performed a factory reset on the phone (since there was no other way to get rid of all the gmail contacts at once). I then turned sync off and tried to sign in to my Google account, but it refused to do so. I get a message saying: "Unable to establish a reliable connection with server. This may be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services. Please contact customer care if the problem persists." I even tried connecting with sync on just for the heck of it but it still did not work.The Samsung Customer Care service in India is truly pathetic. They said that: "We do not provide support for such technical problem" Wtf? They then proceeded to give a regional center number, which when I called.

2nd question: My phone resets by itself each day most of the time when I'm browsing the market, a question mark will appear over the battery icon or a blocked sign(the circle with the slash running through it) will come up, the screen goes black for 10-15 seconds, the home/back/settings buttons are still lit up. Should I just exchange it for a different one since it's been giving me these problems? Also, Inception came on the phone and now whenever I try and play it, it says file not found. I'm thinking of going to the tmobile store tomorrow and exchanging it for a different one.
when i send a message i sometimes have a small envelope on the left appear with a green 'i' in front of it. what is this for as the manual as usual doesn't seem to explain?

View 21 Replies View Relatedi got a fascinate like 2 days ago and i set a patter lock to it, i know this very well, its very simple but i was procratinating from my homework earlier and kept entering different patters because i hate homework and i have add. Anyways i did this to the point where it required a google id login. So i sigh and attempt to login, does not work, i try 10 more times before i find out that this is an ongoing android problem. I do a hard reset, still doesnt work. Now 5 hours later im pissed beyond belief wondering why google put so much effort into a dumb pattern lock and why it still does not work after a full restore.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I have a Samsung Galaxy, and everytime I use the regular browser to sign into hotmail it stays stuck at "https://login.live.com Sign In". It's a blank page when it finishes loading. It's been like this for about a week. So i tried the Opera Mini browser for the android, and I can't log in because it makes me retype in my username after I enter the password, so I cannot log in at all in the first place. There is no app for checking my hotmail except for Hot Email, which doesnt work. If I use the Mail app, it downloads my emails (I think) and I just want to check it right off the browser as usual, anyone having the same problems?.
