Samsung Moment :: How Secure Are Market Apps With Personal Info On Phone
Nov 13, 2009I have been wondering over the last few days since getting an Android phone and trying to configure it to make it at least as productive as my previous smartphone. How secure is the information in a world where we put a large amount of personal info behind google-id and password? This id and pwd is plugged into the phone for functionality. We browse the Android Market for necessary apps provided by complete strangers and click Install. We click OK when caution is raised, with unknowing consequences and taking complete responsibility for the installation. Am I justified in being paranoid with Android model of doing things?

Samsung Moment :: Can't Download Anything From The Market
Apr 21, 2010I recently upgraded to a rooted 2.1 system and all worked well for about a week, including use of the Market. But now I can't download anything from the Market at this point. I've tried every solution I've seen on this and other forums, but nothing has solved the issue. I've tried rebooting through recovery, pulling out the battery, starting Google Talk (apparently that helps with other phones), checked the 'okay to download third-party apps/unknown sources' mark in settings, and cleared the cache out of every application. I've uninstalled every application I've downloaded in the last 3-4 days.
However, I can't find the Market app to clear the cache - would seem like if I cleared the cache from the Market app, that might do the trick. I remember seeing it as an manageable app in 1.5, but it's not showing in 2.1.
Is the Market app in 2.1 hidden somehow? I've used Root Explorer, ASTRO and the stock apps manager but none show the Market program as an application.
Also, are there other suggestions I haven't tried?
The reason it's an issue right now is because I removed the mms.apk program (moved it to the SD card, but it won't re-install -- tried ASTRO and Root Explorer) and was using Handsent SMS exclusively for texting. But Handsent had some problems so I uninstalled it and was about to re-install it but now I can't successfully download anything from the Market. So, I have no texting ability right now.

Dec 11, 2009Here's one that I can't seem to find anywhere, even when digging. Is there an EQ (audio equalizer) app or tool for d/l currently on the Moment? I do like to use it for music, but as of right now my PSP sounds better, but i'd like to leave that at home when I head off to school. It's kinda clunky, and it'd be more desireable to only have to take one thing with me. Don't get me wrong, the sound is fine on the Moment, it's just..... not what I want it to be. I'm a perfectionist in almost everything I do.Is there an EQ app or tool currently available for download in the market? If so, what is it called?

Samsung Moment :: Is There Market App Or Something Misssing That Can 'beef Up' Email App
Nov 21, 2009Is there a market app or something I am misssing that can 'beef up' the email app. I have tried all of the gmail reconfiguring to get some of the functionality, but good old yahoo bizmail has known issues that causes problems in trying to use gmail for yahoo on the phone.
I desparately need settings like a signature for my email replies. Google just doesn't currently work for me. Anyone have any suggestions? Probably my biggest complaint. Google is not my favorite for email, contacts, etc. and I am trying hard to use it as needed since this whole phone revolves around it, but its like take huge steps backwards in functionality and customization from my windows mobile phones.
Samsung Moment :: Deleted Google Talk App - Can't Download From Market
Jul 25, 2010I flashed my Samsung Moment (2.1) with Dream 3.0...everything is perfect but I went ahead and deleted google talk since I never intend on using it.
Well, apparently that causes one to not be able to download from the market. I can't even download Google Talk now to fix it. It keeps crashing when I try to download anything. I have Root Explorer and Astro but I don't think I backed up the Talk app. Am I screwed or is there some way to make this better?

I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. Apr 18, 2010Pretty much ever since I flashed over to 2.1 I don't receive any of my emails anymore. The only ones I do get are my work ones and that's connected directly to the Exchange server. I have a total of 4 emails being sent to my phone, My gmail, Hotmail, and 2 from my website exile-designs.com. I have the settings to check every 15 minutes but I never get any. Anyone have any idea's on this? I know the settings are right for sure on my Hotmail because I can pull that one up and see my old email's sitting in my inbox. The other 3 accounts should all be fine as well.

Sep 24, 2010Anyone in the Central FL area that would be willing to help me root this phone? I just got my moment 2 weeks ago. I tried rooting it today by following what seemed to be fairly simple instructions but when I went to do the recovery part, I got this message..."Samsung PST MFC Application has stopped working". I tried going thru the whole process again while phone was still plugged in but I kept getting same msg. When I unplugged it and tried turning it on, all I would get was a pic of a phone, a question mark, and a computer. I had to hard boot it. Once I did that, it was on the 1.5 version. I had to take it to the fix it shop to get the upgrade and my contacts back. I'm very scared to even try this again myself but I want it rooted so bad! I want to be able to use it as a modem for my laptop.
