I want to connect my HTC Wildfire with my AdHoc WiFi network from the phone's user interface. I can see my the network from WiFi Analyzer. But when I try to connect it shows- "AdHoc is not supported by Android platform yet!"

View 14 Replies View RelatedI had a moment in the beginning and took it back,got a hero had massive problems and finally got my hero replaced with another moment that was brand new.I just got it like 2-3 days ago and its having the same issues that i had on 1.5 when i had it the first time.I had it replaced when i had it the first time and same issue.I have 2.1 now and the battery life is still horrible like dropping not long after taking it off the charger without using it but biggest problem is that the phone will tell me i have no service and it will have an x up above where the bars should be and i have to remove the battery and put it back in before it will work again.The data does the same thing and i can turn the phone off and back on for that and it will work again.Does this happen to anyone else??Its very frustrating!!Also the wifi wont connect.It just says it is unable to connect but it was just working and my laptop works wirelessly so i know that its not my router or anything with my connection.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just bought an Android Smart TV Box (to replace my AC Ryan media box which gave up the ghost a few days ago) and it mostly works fine - it is connected to my tv via hdmi and the box is hard wired to my router - so it is the standard connection setup. I have two usb hard drives connected to it. I obviously want to drag and drop media files from my phone (android) or my laptop (Windows7) to the connected hard drives I use ES Explorer app on my phone and Windows explorer but using either version I cannot see the Android box wirelessly - if i do a scan using es explorer it finds the laptop straight away and i can drag and drop but it just will not find the android box at all. However if i go onto the Android box and into the es explorer app and do a scan it picks up the laptop and i can drag and drop a file onto the laptop. So the wireless is sort of working as opposed to not at all. But just seems odd that i cant see it at all - i cant even ping it from the laptop.

I have the samsung drivers on there that I used to root. Could that be it? I have windows 7 I have turned on and off debugging, didnt work. It shows in my computer that I have "samsung android" but wont open or anything? I want to put music on it and take some off I downloaded.

The phone doesn't see the network, and adding it manually doesn't help either. Another laptop, running XP, sees and connects to the network just fine.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI can't keep my wifi connected on my Droidx. Scanning connecting connected then a few seconds later the wifi icon disappears and it repeats the process seemingly forever. I've discovered that if I use the wps push button method to connect it was stay connected until the wifi goes to sleep when I tries to reconnect I get the scanning connecting connected loop. I've tried different settings in my router (wpa/wpa2 just wpa, just wpa2, tkip, aes) I refuse to go below wpa encryption. My current settings WPA2 AES. I'm running a Linksys WRT400N dual-band router latest firmware, 2.4ghz mode set to mixed b,g,n. Oddly enough, during the time it took my to write this it connected itself and it seems stable now (at least until I let it idle). Phone probably knew I was on here complaining about it but any help you can give me to obtain a wifi connection better without having to spend 15mins each time trying to get it to connect would be great.

Also, I tried connecting to other WiFi networks with the same phones, and they connected. So I think there might be a problem with my home network.
I have a stock inc and for some reason it won't connect to my home WiFi network. It will connect to other wifi networks. I turned off WEP just to take that variable out of it. No idea what the problem is. I have also hard reset it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm new to all this WiFi stuff. I have no problems connecting my Desire to my WiFi at home, which is great. But at work (or at least in the vicinity of my office) there is an open WiFi point. I have now tried on several occasions to connect to it, but it always fails. It gets as far as trying to get the IP address then nothing happens until the connection fails. Then it starts trying to connect again, but it gets stuck every time on getting the IP address.
This would not concern me if it weren't for the fact that other work colleagues (one of whom also has a Desire) have managed to connect without a problem. I've moved over to where those people work, in case it was a pure location thing, but still no success. Obviously I'd like not to have to use my data allowance while at work if at all possible.
I've had my HTC Hero for one week. First day I got it, I walked into a Radio Shack and connected to the open WiFi instantly no problem. I can connect to any secured network (w/ pwd) no problem. However, ever since I put the phone in airplane mode while on a flight, I haven't been able to connect to any open Wifi network. The Hero detects the network and says I'm connected, but I can't get on the internet at all. The phone says it's not in airplane mode but maybe it still is? help please. I'm running android 2.1.

I have a mac address filter on my router and I put in the correct mac address of my Eris more than once as well and the security settings. I was able to connect my Nintendo DSi with no problem. So when I set up my wi-fi connection, it says it's not in range but remembered. At my job I was able to connect to the wi-fi with no problem. Could it be something with my router? View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the forum and to Android. Last week I replaced my Palm Centro with the new AT&T Xperria X10. About a week before the new cell phone arrived, I replaced our old Netgear wireless router with a new Cisco-Linksys E2000 router. All was well, except my daughter's PC (XP Home) and my other daughter's laptop (Vista), could not connect to the router. Got the new X10, and it connected without any problem.
Then - trying to get the other two computers to connect, I changed the 801.b security from WAP2 Personal to WEP Shared (One of them has an old Linksys wireless adapter that won't allow anything but WEP). Then my daughters were both able to connect, but not the Xperia. I have tried everything I can think of - no success. I changed the router security mode to disabled, and I could not connect. I changed the Xperia to Static IP - no connection. I entered the password in both ASCII text and HEX, neither succeeded.
My HTC EVO 4G LTE is having a major problem. When connected to my home modem it will not connect to the internet at all. When I disconnect wifi in the settings the phone will crawl along at Sprint 3G speeds. Laptops, tvs, chromecast and Roku are all working properly from the same modem. I've reset the modem, restarted the phone numerous times, just updated the phone (was happening before and after the update) and still no luck. I've scoured the internet looking for answers but nothing so far.
